Chapter 30

Yarn's manager notices that Chuck's call has ended, and he taunts her mercilessly, "So what did the police say? You should have complained to the police that your wife was beaten. Maybe then the police will help you and save the day. ."

Chuck continued to stare at him with a frightening calmness as the manager walked towards him. The few minutes that Yvette waited for Chuck felt like forever. Yarn Manager continued to provoke and harass her, making her desperate.

Is it useful to call the police now? Is this what he meant by "helping her", confidently withdrawing himself to confront Yarn Manager and calling the police for help? If that's the case, then he's enough!

Once, he thought of accepting the person he had slept with since young. However, weakness, indecision, laziness, and poor overall performance in studies and attitudes have determined its future course. How does such a person have such a promising achievement in society?

So, he chose the best path for the two of them: farewell. Today, he notices Chuck's new appearance and thinks that he's reborn. He thinks that the day for Chuck to actually be able to defend himself and reach a higher level is here. However, it was all just an illusion, a mirage that he thought he saw but only his imagination. With hope comes a greater sense of disappointment. This was the kind of displeasure Yvette felt right now.

Yarn Manager tried to kick him. Chuck looked once and stepped back, avoiding the Yarn Manager kick easily. She did so gracefully and calmly as if nothing was wrong, and she simply stepped back to enjoy the scene before her. Yarn Manager frowned and cursed in his heart:

Is this guy stupid? Acting pretentious despite not calling the police?

"Don't waste my time. I don't have time to play with a fool like you!" Yarn Manager grinned as he rolled up his sleeves in an attempt to try to beat Chuck.

"Chuck Cannon, let's go!" Yvette called Chuck bitterly. He has decided that this will be the last time he calls Chuck's name. He didn't want to be in this place again, not even a second! What's the point of being here? Being insulted by others continuously? However, Chuck still did not budge. Yvette shook her head, why did she even follow him here?

At that moment, Chuck's phone rang and he picked it up to answer the call, the tip of his mouth curling into a grin a few seconds later. Such calm composure and provoking smile made Yarn Manager even more furious. "Smiling? I'm gonna give you some slaps and let's see who's smiling right now.

He stormed and was about to hit Chuck. But then!

A few seconds later, the phone in the Yarn Manager's pocket rang. He frowned, who was it, bothering him when he wanted to hit someone! He pulled out his phone in annoyance, his expression instantly changing when he saw the caller ID. He waved his phone screen displaying two words happily to Chuck: Big boss.

Yvette felt more desperate. He knew that the owner of the square had a relationship with the Yarn Manager because they often went out drinking together. If the owner called at a strange hour now, he must have tried to invite the Yarn Manager over for a drink. If Yarn Manager chose to speak badly and add oil to the fire now, he would definitely lose his company. That simple! Even if he had an incoming baller, he might not be able to do anything either. At this point, Yvette's dissatisfaction turned into anger. Chuck, I don't blame you if I'm insulted repeatedly, but you can't let things get worse like this.

Yarn Manager sneered. "Young man, the boss invited me out for a drink. So, I'll let you go today, but you better be careful from now on! If you dare to provoke me, I will definitely finish you off!"

He looked down on Chuck and even arrogantly turned on the speakerphone to hear Director Wendel's voice hands-free. He thought: Yvette Jordan, listen carefully to how close I am to the boss. Now you regret not coming with me, right? If you wait for me in bed like a good girl, I can still give you a chance.

"Hello, Director Wendel!" Yarn Manager greeted with a very arrogant and confident expression on his face.

"Are you going?"

"Of course not, Director Wendel. As you know, I am the most loyal to my job and I usually leave the last job. I need to make sure that everything here is ready before I leave." Yarn Managers are getting more and more proud of every passing moment. He looked at Yvette, then at Chuck, staring at them as if they were farmers and he was king. He looked as if he was showing off the fact that he was going to go out the night with the boss to the two of them.

"It's good you didn't go. Come to my office. Now too!"

"OK, okay, Director Wendel, please wait a minute, I'll be right there."

After hanging up the phone, Yarn Manager sneered, "Go away from me, I'll have some fun with the boss tonight. Last time, we went to a five-star hotel for dinner and I'm pretty sure you two haven't been to such a luxurious place in your entire life, have you? Guess what, I go there every day!"

"Are you sure your boss wants to have dinner with you?" said Chuck flat.

Yvette sighed and shook her head. What does Chuck want to accomplish by saying that? The boss already called him, what else but to invite the Yarn Manager over for dinner? What's the point of trying to persuade him?

"Haha! If he doesn't invite me to dinner, do you think he's asking you out? Do you really think you have the standard for a boss to ask you out?" Yarn Manager turned around and left in disgust. The phone rings again. It's from the big boss.

Yarn Managers are even more pleased. "Listen, the boss is urging me again. After dinner, we'll have fun with beautiful women, spend our money lavishly. You will never live like us, no matter what you do."

"Oh really? Then you better have fun." Chuck said indifferently.

Yvette frowned at Chuck's words, she was very disappointed.

"Hello, Director Wendel!" The call is connected when the Thread Manager once again turns on the speakerphone. He looked so full of himself as he smiled haughtily.

"Not come yet, pick up someone else first. He's supposed to be around the square, go see."

"No problem! Is that Director Gold, the one who went with us for dinner last time?"

"Chuck Cannon?"

Yvette instantly froze as her eyes widened in disbelief. Why would this Wendel Director want the Yarn Manager to take Chuck? Did he hear wrong? But how is it possible? Or Zelda Maine?

"No problem! I'll pick him up now! Please, wait a minute, boss." Yarn Manager smile. The last time they had dinner with Director Gold, they arranged for another entertainment program. This time, with Director Cannon, they might as well have some extra fun on the sidelines! Phone's closed.

Yarn Manager snorted at Yvette and Chuck, "Go from here, I'll pick someone up."

"Why? But I don't want you to pick me up!" Chuck shook his head and shrugged his shoulders.

"Haha, who's gonna pick you up? See what you look like," Yarn Manager laughed with a face full of sarcasm, but his brows furrowed. What does he mean by saying that? Was the person that Director Wendel asked to pick up, him?

He stared intently at Chuck, before asking cautiously. "Are you Chuck Cannon?"

"You're not qualified to talk to me" Chuck said.

Yarn Manager sneered, "If you're Chuck Cannon, why don't you come with me!"

The phone rings again. The Yarn Manager answers the call and intuitively turns on its speakerphone.

"Hello, Director Wendel, I've taken Chuck Cannon!" Yarn Manager could only sneer towards Chuck, thinking to himself: Little b*stard base, consider yourself lucky this time to be able to get on Director Wendel's good side!

"Take him there. Remember fast"

"Director Wendel, who is this Chuck Cannon? He looks too ordinary." The more he looked at Chuck, the more angry he was.

"Obviously, my ass!" On the phone, Director Wendel suddenly cursed.

Yarn Manager was instantly dumbfounded, his face full of surprise. He could only freeze in his tracks as he waited for Director Wendel's explanation.

Yvette was equally surprised. What the hell is going on? Why did Director Wendel scold the Yarn Manager? Is it really because of Chuck?

"Director Wendel ..." Yarn Manager dumbfounded. What does he mean?

"If you dare to be disrespectful to Chuck Cannon, I won't let you leave just like that, what are you waiting for? Hand the phone over to Chuck Cannon! I don't believe the bullshit in your head despite following me all this time. long time!" Director Wendel scolded him

"You don't have to give it to me" Chuck announced.

"Ah, are you Chuck Cannon?" Director Wendel's voice suddenly softened. He seems to. His tone of voice surprised the Yarn Manager! How could his boss be polite to this person?

Yvette's mind was empty. He did not expect Director Wendel to speak so humbly. In this case, Chuck's phone call is not to the police, but to….

"Yes," Chuck said

"I'm sorry for the rudeness of my staff. Please forgive me, forgive me!"

"I'm sorry you? It depends on what you do, Director Wendel". Chuck focused his gaze on the Yarn Manager calmly.

Yarn Manager felt goosebumps all over his body as he was now completely shocked. What the hell is going on? Is he dreaming?

"Ah, then, please wait! Yarn, asshole, bow down and apologize to Mr. Cannon. Otherwise, there will be hell that will pay you!!" Director Wendel's voice was full of anger as heard from the receiver.
