Chapter 28

Yvette Jordan felt Chuck Cannon's manhood after he finished his sentence. He thought that he had misheard because this was the first time he had said something like this. Did Chuck really say that? Cannon Chuck? Did I hear wrong?

"What did you say?" Yvette asked without thinking. He had been sitting alone in the office, and no one had comforted him. He had thought of many solutions, including seeking the help of the Big Boss, but he knew very well what would happen if he approached them. He couldn't let his guard down, so he couldn't think of any other way.

After being in a daze for a long time, Chuck called out to her. He did not want to answer it at first, but he still admitted and answered it in the end. To a certain extent, the words Chuck just touched her a little. Of course, there's nothing more than this. Even if his staff comforted him at this moment, he would also be moved.

"Are you having a problem? I'll help you finish it!" Chuck repeated his words.

"Forget it, there's no need for it," Yvette shook her head coldly. No matter if her words are true or not, Yvette still doubts that Chuck can help her solve her problem. He was just trying to comfort her with unreliable words. If he really tried to help her, the result would be even more disappointing.

He thought of asking Chuck to seek Zelda's help, but the odds of that succeeding were almost zero. First of all, Zelda might not know the owner of the Town Square; and it was impossible to let her seek the help of others. Chuck and Zelda may not be close enough for him to work harder to help Yvette.

Secondly, even if they knew each other, the new shopkeeper might also know the owner of the square. This will put Zelda in a dilemma, as she won't go too far for Chuck and worsen the situation. He did not want to be disappointed again if he started to feel a little hopeful.

Chuck starts to say something but Yvette interrupts, "It's okay. I'll solve my own problems. Go to bed early, we still have class tomorrow. I hung up."

The phone is closed at the end of there. Chuck felt helpless. He wanted to call her again, but he suddenly thought of what Zelda had told him during the day. Could it be that the Yvette issue is about the store? Chuck thought about it for a while and decided that this might be the case.

Zelda is very good in her field. Since he already liked Yvette's place, the owner of the Town Square must have sent an ultimatum to Yvette. Given this, Chuck decides to send a message to Yvette with the identity of the ballet dancer. He apologized for replying late because he was busy and asked what happened.

Yvette's reply came instantly. "I'm in some trouble now. Do you know the boss of the City Square?"

This answer confirmed his suspicions. Chuck Cannon replied, "Yes, what can I do for you?"

Yvette sent some crying face emojis, who seemed to be crying out of happiness. "I have a company in the square, but the manager of the square does not allow me to renew my rental contract. I gave everything to this company. Can you tell and ask the City Square manager to renew the lease for me? ?"

Chuck had mixed feelings after hearing the problem. He should have gotten straight to the point when he called out to her just now. Yvette probably thought that she could do nothing and decided to keep quiet. However, he was still the one who helped him in the end. Chuck didn't know if he should laugh or be bothered by this.

"Okay, I'll help you ask this." He could only reply to her like that.

"Thank you very much!" Followed by several other crying face emojis.

"Don't worry, just wait for me."

"Yes." Yeah."

Chuck puts down his phone and goes to the square where Yvette's company is located. After he parked his car, Chuck thought:

He did not really know who the owner of this square was, and it was impossible to approach Zelda about this. He's been after this place for a long time. It took a miracle for him to let go of this place when he was very close to getting it.

She did not think that kissing and touching Zelda affectionately would encourage her to let go of such a lucrative opportunity. So he's alone. He had to meet the manager of the square first and figure out a way to meet the owner of the square.

Chuck was deep in thought when he got out of his car. But when he went to the square, he saw Yvette walking towards him from a distance with her head bowed. He looked troubled, and he couldn't help but notice that there were red, swollen spots on his face. It contrasted with his snow-white skin.

Did someone slap him? Chuck was immediately swept away in anger. Chuck has slept through countless nights with her in his arms. Although they were now separated, he still could not contain his anger when he saw his twisted face. He walked towards her without thinking.

Yvette immediately regained consciousness and covered her face. He said in a strange tone, "Why are you here?" This was the first time she felt vulnerable in front of Chuck.

"I'm here to see you." Chuck had a cold look in his eyes. "Who hit you?"

"Don't worry about that. I've found someone to help me." Yvette shook her head and tried to avoid her gaze.

Chuck smiled bitterly, because the person he found was him. Since Yvette had a very pretty face, it was unimaginable to see the scarlet palm marks on her face, with dried up tears still visible on her face. Chuck felt his heart twitch violently.

"Is that the manager?" Chuck asked coldly.

He could not be far from the truth because he knew that the one in charge of the shop in this square was the Yarn Manager. He is the man Yvette Jordan should be looking for to renew his contract. But that doesn't explain that he slapped her like this.

"Indeed, but what are you going to do?" Yvette was a little surprised. He could clearly feel his anger. Is Chuck angry because of what happened to him? Chuck Cannon who is always weak and weak can actually be wrathful. But what's the point of being angry? It would not help in the least in his situation.

"If he really slaps you, I'll make him pay big!" Chuck had a deadly look in his eyes.

Yvette avoided his expression. He's scared to see how Chuck has changed. Looking at the current Chuck who looked like someone completely new, Yvette was at a loss for words. He felt different than usual, could defend her and became angry, this was much different from the Chuck Cannon he knew. A strange feeling appeared in his heart, perhaps at some point he had changed.

But Yvette is still level-headed. "Chuck Cannon, stop messing around. I'll take you home. Someone's been helping me, so don't get involved!"

How much Chuck wished he knew that the ballet dancer was him! But he stopped himself when he saw the glittering light of anticipation in his eyes. If he knew the truth, he would be disappointed.

"Trust me this once!" Chuck grabs Yvette's hand and starts walking into the manager's office.

Yvette. He couldn't believe that Chuck had grabbed his hand. Can Chuck solve the problem? Yvette suddenly felt like she was an adult. But he knew this was just wishful thinking, and soon he began to analyze the facts. There's no way he can help her. First of all, Chuck was a nobody, how could he have the ability to defend her? The only advantage he has is knowing Zelda Maine, but even the possibility of Zelda lending her help to Chuck is almost zero.

Second, the manager was not easy to deal with. Although Chuck was as tall as him, he looked like a stick if he stood next to the manager. If they really fight, Chuck will lose.

"Chuck Cannon, stop messing around. I'll take you to dinner. Forget it!" Yvette tries to break away from her grasp, but Chuck holds her hand tightly. He can't escape or escape, so he is dragged into the manager's office by Chuck.

"Chuck Cannon." Yvette imagines Chuck being beaten up and being a little anxious. Even though they had parted ways, he still did not want to see her beaten up, especially for her sake.

"Trust me once, I will avenge you today!" chuk said seriously.

Yvette sighed. "If you're just going to make trouble and fight with him, then what's the point? Forget it, I'll take you to dinner."

However, the Yarn Manager only had to choose this time to get out of his office and his eyes were fixed on Chuck's unfriendly face. He turned his gaze to Yvette who lowered her head and suddenly sneered. "Yvette Jordan, is this your husband? He's gonna hit me, right?"

Yvette lowered her head further and did not speak. For a moment, he was even more disappointed with Chuck Cannon. He's too impulsive. What's the point of doing this when you fight? Yarn Manager sneered.

"You hit my wife, didn't you?" Chuck looked at.

"Yes, I did beat your wife. But looking at you now, I feel like hitting you too! Get out of here! Don't block my way." Yarn Manager sneered. As he was about to leave, he heard Chuck's cold words, "You're screwed!"
