Chapter 11
"Aah?" Queenie's face flushed red, and she whispered, "My mom says we can't share a room with a boy".
In fact, Chuck Cannon did not think too much about it either and just said it impulsively. But honestly, Queenie was actually young and very beautiful.
Since she was poor, she usually wore cheap clothes and did not wear any makeup on her way out. How can he look good? But with a bit of makeup and denim shorts showing her long, slender legs, she will definitely look prettier than Lara Jean and the other girls.
"Eh... But the school dormitory is closed. Where would you sleep if you didn't get a room?" Chuck asked helplessly.
"I…." Queenie's heart beats faster.
Actually, he doesn't have much feelings for Chuck. He had a good impression of her and was at most just a good friend. It is true that he was very touched because Chuck was with him and waiting for the owner of the car. But, even though she was touched, she could not share a room with him!
"But if we don't get a room, does that mean we'll sleep on the street?" Queenie is in a dilemma. He bit his lip and looked at Chuck. He was worried that he might do something to her if they shared a room.
As soon as he started talking, Chuck said, "Okay, let's not get a room then. I'll take you somewhere and you can rest there"
"really? Where's?" Queeny surprised.
Chuck could only tell him the address of the house he bought today. The previous owners had already moved all the furniture and belongings and since it was rather hot, they could only buy a mattress and sleep on the floor. After all, it had three bedrooms and two living rooms, so Queenie would feel more comfortable.
"Highstreet District? It's a very crowded place in the city". Queenie was surprised that Chuck knew such a place. After all, he knew that Chuck was as poor as he was.
"Yes, it's right there. I have been working part-time as an agent recently. There was a house for sale and the owner was in a hurry, so he gave me the key to make it easy to see the house. We can spend the night there because no one else knows.
Queenie hesitates. "Isn't it inappropriate to do this?"
"As far as you. Otherwise, our only option is to get a room. Don't worry, no one else knows, the owner isn't in town" Chuck persuades.
"OK", Queenie bit her lip. He hasn't done anything like living in someone else's house, what if the owner comes home at night?
But if he doesn't, he can only get a room with Chuck, and everyone knows the meaning behind the room together. He knows that it's better to be friends with Chuck than to cross the line of friendship.
"Well, wait a minute. I'll..." Chuck almost spilled the beans and said that he was going to drive.
"What are you gonna do?" Queenie's distraught.
"none. We can go there by taxi" Chuck said.
"Yes". They both went to the side of the road to get a taxi. Chuck had no choice but to park his car here all night.
Soon, they get a taxi and drive to Chuck's house. When they got out of the car, the driver was surprised and asked enviously. "Young man, are you buying a house here? The houses here cost almost two million dollars, you must be a rich man!"
Chuck coughed. It was the house he bought, but…
Queenie simply felt embarrassed and thought, "This is the owner's house. We came here just for one night"
The driver left and the two of them stood in silence. Queenie felt that she was doing something bad, so she was nervous. What if the owner returns?
But now, he could only follow Chuck inside. Queenie had never been here before, and the interior was amazing. He wanted to stay here in the future, but it was too expensive. He would never be able to afford it even if he worked for the rest of his life, so he had no choice but to dispel that thought.
They boarded the elevator and arrived at the designated floor. Chuck opened the door and entered, while Queenie followed and immediately heaved a sigh of relief. It was empty inside. Chuck really didn't lie to her, the house was currently empty.
Roofs, walls, and cabinets that cannot be removed are in top condition. One could already imagine how wasteful it was before.
"This house is so big and beautiful. What price does the owner want to sell?" Queenie asked curiously.
"3,560,000 dollars"
"Yes" Chuck said with a smile.
"Right, there are still a lot of rich people, I don't know who will buy it in the end", Queenie nodded, her eyes looking around the house. "Then should I stay in which room?"
"As far as you. There's a bathroom in every room" Chuck replied.
"Alright, then I'll stay here". Queenie pointed to a room and walked over. Then he turned around and waved to her as he said, "Thank you Chuck, good night".
"Alright, good night" Chuck replied with a smile.
Seeing that Queenie had closed the door, Chuck began to learn how to place the furniture the next day. After he has a rough plan, Chuck enters a room at random.
Queenie, who was leaning against the door, heaved a sigh of relief when she heard Chuck enter the room, but soon she felt depressed. He sat on the floor, his mind swirling. He was actually in a house with a boy. Even though they were not in the same room, it still felt strange. She was so nervous as she leaned against the door right now, afraid Chuck would come. If she barged into the room, she, as a girl, would definitely not be able to defend herself. What's he supposed to do? Push him down hard, or…
He had thought of countless precautions and waited anxiously. However, Chuck did not come, which also made him feel a little uncomfortable. That's hard to explain. Strange, like the story of the Monkey King in the Peach Garden, who stopped the seven Beautiful Angels from going just to pluck peaches and ignore the beautiful fairies altogether.
Queenie also did not understand why she thought so. Shortly thereafter, he was depressed. How much would the car owner ask of her if she called her tomorrow? Did the owner agree to let him pay in installments?
Queenie's upset. He leaned against the wall and closed his eyes slowly.
…………..
When Chuck was still sleeping in the morning, he was woken up by a phone call from a real estate agent who said that Yvette Jordan was also ready to go. Everyone will gather at the Ministry of Housing to prepare for the transfer of home ownership.
Chuck got up. His back hurts and hurts because he slept on the floor last night. Fortunately, he was able to sleep in a big bed tonight.
After exiting the room, Chuck discovers that Queenie has been waiting a long time. Seeing her tired, Chuck asked curiously, "Don't sleep well last night?"
"Well, I'm afraid the homeowner will be back, so." Queenie said softly. "Let's go quickly, before the owner of the house is here. It would be difficult and awkward to explain why we're here".
Chuck smiled and agreed. Queeni curious. How could he be so calm after doing such a bad thing?
He didn't think too much about it. They both got out of the house and got off in the elevator. On the roadside, Queenie asks Chuck if he wants to go to class together. Chuck had to deal with the transfer of home ownership, so of course, he couldn't go to university. He could only say that he wanted to go for a part-time job.
"All right, I'll be back first". Queenie took a little dime and went on a bus.
"okay".
When Queenie gets on the bus, Chuck calls a taxi to take her to the parking lot yesterday. Queenie looked through the window and saw the BMW from yesterday still parked there.
She's fidgeting. When will the owner call him? As the bus got further and further away from the BMW, he sighed. How good would it be if the owner of the BMW was his friend? If so, they can discuss car damage compensation in installments. Too bad he doesn't have friends like that. Queeni's gaze dimmed.
Chuck went to the Housing Ministry. When he arrived at the parking lot, he called the agent. The agent said that he saw her and was coming soon, but when he arrived, he was overwhelmed with admiration and jealousy. He thought he was wrong when he saw Chuck driving a BMW 7 series. But from another point of view, what is wrong with someone who can buy two houses at once to buy a luxury BMW? It was a good match!
"Mr Cannon, change cars?" The agent was envious. He thinks Chuck has a couple of cars and this is just a new car for his collection.
Chuck shook his head and said that it was his first car. The agent was shocked and looked at Chuck again, this time with approval. He's obviously a rich kid, but this is just his first car. If he knew how to control his will, this Cannon Master would definitely have a good future!
He must be rich for a reason.
Chuck had told the agent yesterday that he would first transfer it to a real estate agent, and then the agent would transfer it back to Chuck. He didn't need to contact Yvette during the entire process. For Yvette, it was impossible for her to know that the person who bought her house was Chuck.
However, while they were discussing, Chuck suddenly heard a confused voice. "Ck, what's wrong with you?"
Chuck looked back automatically and realized that it was Yvette, a confused expression hanging on his face. He suddenly panicked. "Oh no, I can't let him know"
