Who does not want to have a handsome lover with thick eyebrows that like ants go hand in hand, sharp eyes but radiate warmth, a sharp nose that looks charming, added again with beautifully engraved dimples as she smiled. Adding a perfect line on his face. At least that's what Kian imagined when he met Rendy. His co-worker who had good looks above the average of his other male colleagues. But unfortunately, the way to get the man is not easy. Rendy already has a lover. A beautiful, intelligent and educated woman. But as long as the yellow janur has not curved, can he hope?
Every trip there will always be a pebble in the way. But no matter how much it gets in the way, as long as you keep walking, your steps will reach their destination.
It's still morning. The sun still looks timid. But the light is enough to warm the body from the cold morning dew. The streets are also still visible from the crowded transportation in the capital.
More deliberately set off earlier than usual because there is some work to be completed this morning. And avoiding traffic jams is the best way to get him there soon. If it gets stuck, Kian can take almost an hour on the way. But now, it only took him about 30 minutes to get to his office by city bus. He was really relieved because the streets were very slow as he expected. The bus stops right at the stop near the entrance of the office yard. After getting off the bus, Kian stared at the tall building in front of the towering one. A place that has been his livelihood for the past two years.
There are several other office buildings built along this location. It looks like some food carts are also neatly lined up on the front sidewalk of the building, waiting for customers to come. Some people may not have time for breakfast at home.
While stepping feet, Kian had time to yawn several times. He intended to stop by the pantry to make a cup of coffee, eliminating the drowsiness that still hit him. Glanced at his watch for a while, there was still time he thought. He entered the elevator along with several people who had been waiting first. Although it is still too early, but some people are used to leaving so early. After exiting the elevator, Kian walked through his study room to the pantry located at the end of the corridor. He was a little rushed, not realizing that in the pantry there was someone who would come out along with him who was smuggling in.
"Argghh hot!" he shouted as the coffee spill that the man was carrying hit his hand.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean it!" The man put down the glass he was carrying and took a tissue.
"Sister Rendy?" He was a little surprised to see Rendy in front of him.
"Here in the cleanup first!" Rendy grabbed Kian's hand and wiped it using a tissue.
Nisa looked at her hand. There was a subtle sigh that plagued his heart as Rendy gently cleaned his fingers.
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to.." Rendy took off Kian's hand slowly when she realized Kian's eyes were not blinking at all. She felt bad for touching him without permission.
"Neverything, Brother. Let me clean it myself." Nisa takes over the tissue in Rendy's hand.
"Would you like some coffee?"
Nisa nodded.
Then Rendy took two packs of instant coffee from the cupboard and brewed it with hot water. One of them he gave to Nisa.
"Make you."
Nisa receives Rendy's coffee with a smile. "Thank you, Brother."
After washing his hands, Kian left the pantry to his office. While Rendy, she had already left that place.
Remembering Rendy, made Nisa remember last night. He came home late last night because he had to be late. And at the same time Rendy offers her a ride. As it was dark, Nisa accepted the offer gladly. Finally one of his hopes in conjunction with the man could be realized.
"Hey, why smile for yourself? You're finished with the sambet?" The voice of Dina, one of her coworkers had just come and interrupted her daydream about Rendy.
"What the hell, who's smiling?"answer Kian trying to evade.
"Look at the glass! Your face from earlier smiles themselves know. What's the matter?" ask Dina curiously.
"Kepo!!," replied Kian in a soft tone. Making Dina next to him have a sour face.
Seeing the face of his best friend who changed like that, Kian finally relented. "Every night, Rendy took me home. And today I met him in the pantry. You know, he even made me coffee. Yeah, even if my hands should be the victims first."
He had always admired that man. Probably since his first day working there. Besides being handsome, for him Rendy was full of warmth. No wonder so many women are chasing him.
"Seriously," replied Kian with sparkling eyes.
"Don't be too baper Kian, you'll know for yourself he already has a girlfriend. Not to mention his fans who still continue to pursue him, are you ready to compete with them?" Dina tried to remind her best friend.
Raut sumringah suddenly disappeared from Kian's face, now he turned moody instantly. The girl just lowered her head in a doldrums.
Ahh right, Kian should know more about himself. It's possible that Rendy drove him home last night just because he saw the girl walking alone at night. How could he think Rendy would like it.
The sun continues to crawl up until it reflects heat to whatever is below it. Make people reluctant to wander outside the room. But there are still people out there just looking for lunch. While Kian chose to spend his lunch in the break room adjacent to Mushola. More often bring their own supplies than buy outside. Because aunty always cooks for uncle's provisions, so she wraps it up for herself. In addition, it also saves expenses of course. There was Dina beside Kian who continued to talk at length while chewing her food. Dina herself brought lunch that she had bought this morning at a warteg near her home. They say it's cheaper than the food sold around the office. Understandably for ordinary employees like Kian and Dina saving expenses is one that they must do if they want to have savings. Moreover, the food sold around the office can be more expensive than they buy outside.
"You know, next week's not the anniversary of the company!" dina said enthusiastically.
"Continue..?" tanya Kian flat. As if not so interested. At most it is an annual event with employees gathered together.
"The company will hold an out-of-town gathering for all central employees. Listen listen to me want to go to the top. How do you think?"
"Where to go for free, make me no problem!" And answered that. Makes Dina snort miserably.
"That's what you don't have to ask!"
"After all, where will the committee determine. We're just looking at the back" Kian replied while cleaning up the rest of his lunch. Then walking to the mushola left Dina who was still spending her lunch. After the dzuhur prayer, Kian returned to the break room to take the lunch that he had put on the table. Just about to leave the break room, Kian was surprised when someone called him.
"Kian," call the guy.
When he felt his name being called, of course he turned his head.
"Oh yes, Brother Rendy," he replied after seeing who had just called him. Rendy had just come out of the mosque when Kian was about to leave the break room.
"You're resting here?" ask her stale bases. Though he already knew after glancing at the supply place held by Kian.
"I-yes, brother" he replied timidly.
Although they often say hello, somehow Kian still feels awkward every time they meet. And strangely his awkwardness actually makes Rendy happy to tease him. Evidently when they met Rendy often smiled meaningfully. Makes things more wrong. After the greeting event was over, they walked into the work room while interspersed with small chats. Where they work is in the same room, only limited to the chest-high barrier in each section.
Kian and Dina are in the administration, while Rendy is in the marketing department. After lunch, it was time to return to their jobs. Because where they work today is the headquarters of the many supermarket branches scattered in the capital, the office atmosphere will look very busy in working hours like this. Some of them meet clients, pick up the phone from a branch or supplier, or get busy with their files stacked on the table. They have their own roles in their work.
Until it does not feel the clock has shown at five in the afternoon. Kian is cleaning up the rest of the files that are still scattered on his desk. Today the work is finished sooner than the hour home. So he doesn't need to be overtime like yesterday. After the rainy season, the road will be twice as congested when it rains. He did not want to spend his rest by sleeping on the bus.
After everything is done and neat, Kian invites Dina to go home together. Because their house is the same. They also went down using the elevator while occasionally laughing on the sidelines of their chatter.
As soon as they came out of the building, it turned out that Dina had been awaited by her lover in the parking lot of the building yard. And that means Kian will go home alone without the company of Dina.
"Sorry Ki, don't go home together. I didn't know that Doni was going to pick me up" said Dina regretfully. If he knew his lover would come to pick him up, he would have prevented him.
"Ngga anything. It's there, gih! Kasian Doni is waiting for you," Kian replied.
Dina walked over to Doni who was waiting for him on the bike. The man put a helmet on Dina's head and hooked it. After that Doni blamed the engine of the motor. Before leaving, Dina had waved at Kian and then the motorbike drove away from the parking area. Leaving Kian who was staring at them disappeared behind the crowd of the road.
