Alan parked his car in the student parking lot, then he went down while carrying a bag of crackers containing snacks that he planned to give to Bhara. He had imagined the adorable laughter of the child when he saw it later.
Her smile grew even more widened when she saw Natasya who had just entered the campus gate on foot. However, he scrunched his forehead in confusion when he saw the girl walking alone, with no Bhara with him. Hm... Unlike previous days, the man thought. Alan could also see Natasya's puffy eyes as if crying.
"Natasha," call Alan.
Natasya who felt that someone was calling turned her head and found Alan who was running small towards her.
"Alan? You just arrived?" ask Natasya.
Alan nodded his head, "where is Bhara? I've bought him a lot of snacks, you know."
Natasya who heard that could only bow her head sadly. Alan who felt that something was amiss immediately held onto Natasya's shoulder.
"Natasha, what's wrong?" ask Alan.
Natasya paused for a moment, then replied, "Bhara's gone."
"Huh?! Go where?!" alan shouted in surprise.
Natasya's words made her overthinking.
Natasya sighed while trying to prevent her tears from coming out, "yesterday, the police picked her up to be handed over to the orphanage."
"Huh? Why did Bhara have to go to an orphanage?" wonder Alan.
"Police didn't manage to find Bhara's parents, and I couldn't keep Bhara staying at my house, so they decided to have Bhara treated in an orphanage" Natasha explained.
"Gosh, what a pity on that kid," said Alan, "you have no intention of adopting him?"
Natasha sighed tiredly, "Al, adoption isn't as easy as you say. There are a lot of requirements that need to be met, whereas I am not at all qualified to be a foster mother. You must understand this, right?"
Yes, of course Alan understands. The process of adoption is very complicated, especially as in the case of Natasya. Economic conditions are not eligible to adopt a child.
Alan snorted dejectedly, "then, now what are you going to do?"
Natasya shook her head slowly, "I can't do anything. Yah... At least I can still visit Bhara at the orphanage every weekend."
What can a young student like Natasya do? A 19-year-old girl, she has absolutely no power to keep Bhara by her side.
All he can do is accept what has become the police's decision for Bhara, the little boy he loves as much as his own son. After all, he was used to living alone. As time went on, he could definitely let Bhara go.
...----------------...
Unlike the usual who was always active in the classroom, Natasya became more silent and looked moody. Friends and lecturers who taught were astonished. Because usually, the girl will actively ask questions and answer questions from lecturers.
Natasya tries hard to concentrate on the material, but Bhara's shadow always lingers in her mind. His bad mood made his physique weak as well and look helpless. Occasionally he would wipe the tears that accidentally slid on his cheeks.
After the last class, he rushed to meet Hendry in another classroom to carry out his role as an assistant lecturer. The girl entered the class while throwing a smile at her lecturer who had just finished teaching it. Although Natasya smiled widely, but in one look, Hendry immediately knew that the smile shown by Natasya was a fake smile.
"What's the problem?" ask Hendry.
"Huh?"
Natasya who was helping bring papers from the students looked up to look at Hendry. However, shortly afterwards, he lowered his head and focused on walking.
"Eum... There's nothing" said Natasya.
Hendry smiled slightly, then focused his gaze forward,
"I've known you for a long time, Natasha. You cannot hide your sadness. So tell me, what makes you sad?" henry.
Natasya let out a long sigh, then said softly, "Bhara..."
Hendry turned his head while frowning, "Bhara? What's wrong with your son?"
Natasya bit her lower lip softly, then said in a trembling voice holding back tears, "Bhara was picked up by the police and handed over to the orphanage."
Hendry stared at the student. During this time, he knew Natasha as a cheerful and passionate girl. This was the first time he had seen Natasha being weak, and the cause was a little boy that the girl had accidentally discovered at the airport.
"The police have done the right thing, Natasha. By law, you are not allowed to live with Bhara. It will be a problem if he stays with you" said Hendry.
"I understand that, Mr. Hendry," said Natasya.
They both reached Hendry's room. Then, Natasya put the papers she brought on the lecturer's desk.
"But you can still visit Bhara at the orphanage, right? I should have been able to. Take it easy, Natasya, you can still play with her" said Hendry trying to cheer Natasya up.
Natasha just nodded slowly with a small smile replying to Hendry's words.
Drr... Drr...
Natasya's phone rang, on her phone screen was the name of the orphanage owner. That made Natasya rush to pick up the incoming phone. By the way, he asked the orphanage to tell him about Bhara.
"Hello?" natasya.
"..."
"Yes, right, I'm Natasha. What was? Bhara's fine, right?"
Hendry sat in his chair watching Natasya pick up the phone. He could see Natasha's forehead frowning as he focused on listening to the caller speak.
But a few seconds later, the girl suddenly widened her eyes and shouted in panic.
"What do you mean?! Bhara accident?!"
Hendry was surprised to hear the screams of the young girl. He is also surprised by Natasya's statement about the little boy having an accident.
"Well, I'll be there soon" Natasya said.
After hanging up her phone, Natasya rushed to get out of the room. However, Hendry quickly withdrew his hand making Natasya turn his head.
"What happened to Bhara?" asked Hendry with a confused look.
"Hiks... Bhara's accident, sir," Natasya said frantically, "I have to go to the hospital now."
"Which hospital was he taken to?" ask Hendry.
"Anjani Medika Hospital," replied Natasya still with her cries.
"Then let me take you there. It will be faster to use the car," exclaimed Hendry.
Natasha nodded her head in agreement. He has no reason to reject the words of his lecturer because it is true, if driving a car will arrive faster than riding a bus.
Then, they both immediately went to the hospital where Bhara was treated. Hendry drove his car at high speed. Along the way, Natasya continued to cry without a sound while chanting prayers so that Bhara's condition was fine.
The girl was very disappointed. Just yesterday he handed Bhara over to the police and the orphanage, but they were careless for letting the little boy go wrong.
