19: Bad Plans

Natasya walked in the corridor of her campus with quick steps. Right now, his goal is Hendry's personal space. At the last class, the lecturer sent a message to Natasya to come to see him immediately. The girl thought that Hendry would give her a job.

Tok tok tok tok

"Lake in!"

After Hendry's voice allowed himself to enter, Natasha opened the door and walked in. He could see the teacher standing by the window facing outside.

"What's up, Mr Hendry?" ask Natasya.

Hendry did not immediately answer Natasha's question. He turned his body to face the girl.

"Natasha," call Hendry.

"Yes, Sir?" Natasha focused on what her teacher was going to say.

"You still have the desire to adopt Bhara?" ask Hendry.

Natasya scrunched her forehead. The girl was confused because Hendry suddenly asked that which obviously had nothing to do with work.

"Y-yes, of course. What's the matter, sir?" natasya replied in a confused tone.

"I'll help you, Natasha" said Hendry.

"Huh? Helping me? Mean dad?" ask Natasya who still does not understand Hendry's words.

Hendry smiled wryly, "yes, I will help you to quickly adopt Bhara."

"Really, Sir?" natasya said, he now seems to have hope, "but, how?"

"Eum. I will use a little bit of my power to ease the adoption process" Hendry said.

Like getting a drop of water in the middle of the desert, Natasha looked at her lecturer with sparkling eyes and full of hope. However, he was also at a loss as to why Hendry would suddenly help him, even by using 'power', which meant something unlawful. As far as Natasha knew, Hendry was a very law-abiding man.

He felt for himself how complicated the legal procedure about adoption, even though he only wanted to do good, namely caring for children who do not have parents. And now, there was someone who offered to help him, but with a little help of 'power'. Natasya will not reject it because this violation will greatly benefit many parties and not harm anyone.

"Thank you very much, Mr. Hendry, thank you very much. Help from my father really needed," said Natasya eagerly.

Hendry just nodded his head while smiling gently.

"Then, excuse me, sir," Natasya said.

After saying goodbye to her lecturer, the girl immediately left the room with carefree steps. He intended to go to the orphanage and tell his son the good news.

Hendry stared at Natasya's back which was not visible anymore after the door of his room was closed. And just then, Hendry's smile faded. Guilt began to approach him when he saw Natasha's radiant face earlier, even though what Hendry said was a lie.

"I'm sorry, Natasha. If one day you hate me, please forgive me" said Hendry.

Flashbacks

Hendry was sitting in a dark room. This room is the work space of the head of the social service. Yes, after discussing with his family, he decided to go to the social service that takes care of child custody and adoption issues.

"Wah~ See this, Mr Hendry who is known to be very law-abiding, is now coming to me to ask for leniency?" said another man who was in the room while chuckling.

Hendry snorted dejectedly, "can you shut up, Surya? I'm getting too dizzy now."

The man called Surya just smiled, then sat himself in the chair opposite to Hendry.

"You've been looking for that woman's whereabouts?" ask Surya again.

"I've been trying to find her whereabouts, but the last piece of information I got was that she went overseas. For the exact position, I don't know" replied Hendry.

Surya seemed to think for a moment, "hmm... Well, then, it's gonna be really hard. The child was born without marriage. In order for the biological father to get custody, he must marry the biological mother or make a statement of approval from the biological mother. If the real mother is not there, then it cannot be processed."

"Especially Johnathan had never taken care of his son since the child was born until now. The court will see that Johnathan does not deserve custody of the child" Surya said.

Johnathan meets all the requirements, except marriage. Do you know if the parent's requirement for adoption is to be married? But it's okay, I can take care of it."

"really? Thank goodness, then," said Hendry relieved.

"The boy's name is Bhara, right?" tanya Surya who replied nod by Hendry.

"Isn't there someone who's trying to adopt her? But that guy is so naive, he doesn't meet the adoption requirements at all, he doesn't even have a steady job yet" Surya added.

Hendry's smile faded, and he remembered it, "Natasya..."

"Yes, that's her name!" surya exclaimed, "do you know that girl?"

Hendry nodded, "yes, he's a student and my assistant."

"Oh yeah? Nice one!" exclaimed Surya, it made Hendry look at him confused.

"You can work with him to gather the necessary files to adopt Bhara" Surya said.

"But, he was unlikely to give Bhara custody to Johnathan. The girl loved Bhara very much" said Hendry.

Surya flicked his shoulders, "then don't have to ask for his approval. It wasn't easy for Johnathan to take care of the file because he was Bhara's real father, shouldn't he adopt his own biological son."

"But different from Natasha. With the help of your powers, he'll have an easier time getting the consent file. After that, take the file and change it to Johnathan's name" Surya added.

Hendry just silently thought about the words of the head of the social service. The idea was very evil and would hurt Natasya greatly if the girl found out. However, Hendry and his family really wanted to get custody of Bhara.
