16: DNA Test Results

Johnathan entered his private room after he had finished operating on a patient. The last few days, he was very busy. This afternoon, he decided to take a short break in his room.

"Huuh~" the handsome doctor sighed tiredly while sitting in his chair.

Drr... Drr...

Johnathan reached into the pocket of his pants when he felt his phone vibrate indicating someone called him.

[Elvi is calling.].

It turned out to be his friend who was a chief laboratory officer. Seeing Elvi's name made him immediately remembered with a DNA test that he did almost two weeks ago. He completely forgot about the test. He did the test out of curiosity, not for all-important reasons. And from that, he could forget.

"Hello, Elvi," said Johnathan after raising the call.

"John?! Why don't you call me at all?!" elvi exclaimed in a loud voice making Johnathan slightly keep his phone away from the ears.

"What's wrong? Why do I have to call you?" johnathan was confused.

"Why are you so relaxed?! Have you seen the results of the DNA test I sent you yet?"

Johnathan is increasingly confused by the words of Elvi, "which DNA test results? You didn't give the DNA test results back then to me?"

"What do you mean? I asked my junior to love you a few days ago when I had some business out of town" Elvi said.

"I have not received anything, Elvi," Johnathan replied with confidence.

"Can't be! He told me himself that you put it on your desk."

Johnathan checked his desk carefully, "no ad-oh, see you!"

Johnathan picked up a white envelope tucked under the cupboard behind his chair.

"The letter apparently fell under the cupboard" said Johnathan.

"Couldn't you? Was your room never swept until an important letter fell on it not found out until now?" chirps Elvi.

Johnathan just chuckled, "maybe accidentally missed."

"Yes, you opened it, and... Don't be too surprised" urged Elvi.

Johnathan, who was still trying to open the envelope, stopped. Suddenly, his heart thumped loudly hearing Elvi's ambiguous speech.

"Don't tell me the result.." murmured Johnathan.

Elvi let out a long sigh, "open, John."

Johnathan's hand immediately opened the envelope in a quick motion. He read the DNA test. Seconds later, his eyes widened because he saw the results of his DNA test and a child named Bhara showed a match of 99.99%.

"Els? These results... Really accurate?" johnathan still doesn't believe it.

"Unfortunately... That's very accurate, John," said Elvi in a soft voice, "i close the phone first, I have to get back to work."

Johnathan sat down in his chair limp. He can't say anything more. Though previously he was just a fad to do a DNA test examination, but who would have thought that the child named Bhara was actually his biological child.

As a man, he could not possibly ignore this fact and consider it as if Bhara was not his son. However, he is worried about his parents' response if they find out that their proud child has done an embarrassing thing, which is to have children outside the marriage relationship.

Drr... Drr....

Long live old man Johnathan. He looked at his phone screen and saw the inscription 'Dad' plastered there. He knows why his father called. Today, his family plans to have lunch together in his mother's room, including Hendry and Alan.

Johnathan shifts the red icon to reject the call from his father. He will soon go to his mother's room. The man let out a long sigh, he had already decided to say this all to his family. He was also ready to face his father's rampage later.

Hendry and Alan had gathered in Anjani's room. Before arriving at the hospital, they first buy lunch at a restaurant to eat together at the hospital. Alan and Anjani are busy arranging food and dishes at the table, while Hendry tries to call his eldest son to come.

"Not lifted," murmured Hendry, "Darling, is Johnathan still on the operating schedule?"

Anjani turned, "huh? No, he just finished it. It's time to rest."

"But why didn't he come here soon? In fact, he didn't even answer my phone, either" Hendry asked.

"Let me pick up Brother John in his room" Alan said.

"Well, here it is" cried Alan.

"Gosh, John. Where the hell are you? Your sister is starving, wait for you" quipped Anjani.

"Well, how am I, Mom? I'm the only one who's starving" Alan replied.

Everyone laughed at the joke. Johnathan also laughed, but it was a kind of bland laugh. How could he laugh in a situation like this?

"John," call Hendry.

"Eh, yes, Father," replied Johnathan who gasped from his daydream.

"Why daydream? Come sit here" said Hendry.

Johnathan nodded his head and walked over to his family, who were ready for lunch. He sits beside Alan, while his father and mother are in front of him.

'Duh, I'm not ready, not now, ' Johnathan's mind.

He hesitated to convey the results of DNA tests that he had been carrying in his doctor's pocket. Moreover, the family is now enjoying meal time together happily. He did not want to ruin his family's quality time which rarely happens because everything is busy with their respective work.

After that, Johnathan took the food and began to eat it. They enjoyed lunch time together while chatting lightly. Alan talked a lot about his daily life on campus, while Johnathan was more silent. Although Johnathan every day is known as a figure who does not talk much, but today he is more quiet again because his mind is raging.

Finally, their simple lunch was over. Anjani immediately cleaned up the dirty dishes and took them to the kitchen at the end of his private room. Alan followed his mother to help wash the dishes. Hendry and Johnathan are sitting on the couch.

"So, what do you want to talk about?" henry suddenly said.

"Huh?"

Johnathan was confused by Hendry's remarks. Since then, he just kept quiet and said nothing to his father. But all of a sudden, his father said like that as if the man knew of the abomination of his eldest son.

Hendry chuckled softly, "John, I know you very well. Today you are more silent and look anxious. Just tell me, what's wrong?"

Johnathan speechless. It turned out that his father had already sniffed the smells of his anxiety. He hesitated to tell the truth.

"John?" call Hendry for an answer from Johnathan.

Johnathan closed his eyes and let out a long sigh. Then, he grabbed the envelope in his pocket and handed the envelope to his father.

Hendry received the envelope confused, "what is this?"

"Open up, Dad," said Johnathan.

Despite not knowing what the envelope contained, Hendry opened it without hesitation. Johnathan's heart was pounding again along with Hendry's rolling eyes reading the writing by writing from the sheet of paper in the envelope.

Johnathan grew anxious when his father did not show any expression. Now he felt that it was better for his father to just scold him instead of acting like this. He had no idea what the middle-aged man was thinking.

"What does this all mean, Johnathan?" hendry asked in a voice that was too cold.

Johnathan tried to answer his father's question calmly, "as you can see. That's the DNA test of mine and the kid."

Hendry paused for a moment, "that's not what I asked, Johnathan Adikusuma."

Johnathan knew his father must be very angry now that the man had mentioned his full name.

"How come," Hendry paused his words, then stared intently at Johnathan, "Bhara is your real son?"

Prangs!!

Johnathan and Hendry immediately turned their heads after hearing the shattering sound. As it turned out, Anjani was already standing near them and was shocked to hear the fact that he had accidentally heard. Alan who was standing behind his mother was similarly shocked.

"W-what? I-I must have misheard," Anjani murmured.
