Chapter 19: Armored Shield
When Jiang Fei nodded her head solemnly, Rosette Rose turned her back for a split second and rolled her eyes. If he knew Jiang Fei as a reasonable man, he would not have done such disrespectful behavior!
That was just one of his tricks that he got after years of running a business. Since childhood, he has been taught to weigh effort and benefits. If successful, there was no place too low for him to bow. On the other end of the spectrum, Jiang Fei was raised in an average family. Men his age would choose honor and glory over profit!
From Jiang Fei's point of view, Rosette Rose was there to help him when he desperately needed help. He had accepted her into the union and had supported the huge investment without second-guessing his decision.
Jiang Fei felt deeply indebted to him, so naturally, he would return the favor. Like Rose himself, Jiang Fei played the game, not to gain an in-game advantage, but to bring out most of the items from the game to the real world to complete his dream of becoming a superman! He was, to be honest, not interested in any benefits in the game!
Both sides came from different backgrounds, so they viewed the same subject very differently. Like that, they ended up in the same place. Jiang Fei was happy, and so was Rosette Rose. Jiang Fei felt like he was taking advantage of the girls, because he thought they were attracted to him. Rosette Rose needed him for her equipment crafting skills and made him stay in the guild.
“Good. Now everything is said and done. We are now family. So tell us brother, what's your secret?’ said Rosette Rose. There must be a reason behind his high Luck and his ability to continue producing Ascended equipment.
“Yes! Cute sister! Say!” miaomiao said, making sure that Jiang Fei's arm sank into his chest.
Jiang Fei was a little agitated and thought of a false reason.
“Erhm. Back in the Beginner Village, I found and completed a hidden quest. As a reward, I obtained some additional Luck attributes and skills. Every day, every time I make any Green level equipment, the first 100 pieces of equipment will have a 100% chance to gain additional skills!”
Jiang Fei decided to fake the story and "blame" it on a hidden quest. He would never reveal the secret of the ring. Once word got out, there was no way for him to hide it. It's best to tell them that the source of his "extraordinary" power is a reward for hidden quests.
“Ahh. I'm seeing. Now I understand why in the world you will choose Craft. ” Exclaim Rose. "Jiang Fei's "reason" actually died on one of his many hypotheses about why Jiang Fei ended up becoming an Iron Man. It was natural, he thought, because he would take the same path if he were in his position.
“Nishishishi! What I said, Sister Xue! I found a great treasure! Sister Xue! How will you appreciate me? Nishishishi!”
Rosette Miaomiao did not know how important Jiang Fei was as a player. He knew he was special, but it was the large scale that eluded his small world. However, that did not stop him from demanding something from Sister Xue.
“OK okay..” Rose said as she patted her head.
“I guess you are the main protagonist in this scenario. Hmm.. I remember you liked my limited edition bracelet. Tomorrow, it's yours!”
“Yay! There are no backsies! Little promise!” exclaimed the little girl while extending her little finger. It was just a gift that was on his mind!
“You guys have fun. I'll keep shopping for more Recipes. ” Jiang Fei hurriedly broke away from the chair and left the room. The girl talks too much for him. Before leaving the room, Jiang Fei handed over all of his work to Rosette Rose.
After leaving the hotel, Jiang Fei went towards the entrance of the city, the same place where he first bought the Corsair Chest Protective Recipe. That place was a hotspot for a small, player-run kiosk. The auction is currently underway, but nearly 99% of players in the game go broke. They prefer to sit for two hours instead of throwing their hard-earned money at something that will be thrown away a few levels later.
Unfortunately, players without guilds had limited inventory slots. Bank storage systems are too expensive to use and even more expensive to develop. In the end, they could only gather whatever they could for the day and sell it at the entrance of the city.
The last thing Jiang Fei needed right now was materials. The batch of his previous purchases had not even run out. Rosette Rose had interrupted her craft session.
At that point of the game, players were unable to solo Leader-level bosses. Most of the bosses around were stronger guild targets. Treasure Chests, on the other hand, are boiled for sheer luck. It is almost impossible for random players to farm for the Recipes themselves. Jiang Fei was very lucky to find the Corsair Chest Protective Recipe in the public market!
“Argh... It's best to buy a whole set of Recipes equipment from NPC!”
Jiang Fei gave up looking for Recipes and decided to switch to NPCs. If one were to go out of town for adventure, he needed solid equipment. Since there was no Prescription, Good or higher, he was forced to use the lowest grade Recipe, White level, from the NPC.
“Really disappointing! I can make that almighty Chest Protector Corsair, but I can't even wear it!” Jiang Fei muttered softly as he walked towards the Iron Clever Instructor.
There are two types of Leveling systems in the game, namely Character Level and Class Level. The Character Level determines the attributes you acquire, while meeting the Equipment Level Requirements. The Class Level determines the skills you can learn, along with their potential.
Players can raise their Character Level by killing monsters or completing missions. It is the basis of almost all MMORPGs. Class Levels can be raised by repeated use of the skills the class provides or completing a Class-specific quest.
Back then, Jiang Fei's Character Level was Level 10, whereas his Class was only a Level 1 Blacksmith Beginner. Fortunately, that Level 1 experience bar was almost full.

With money, one could easily survive; after purchasing all the Green Copper series equipment Recipes, the Instructor praised Jiang Fei with a few words and rewarded him with another Recipe.
"Shelf Armor"
Armor Shield (Enhance Material, Normal)
Use: Provide special skills on the "Shield Armor" Breastplate. Absorbing Physical Damage is equivalent to 20% maximum Health Points.The last 20 seconds.5 minutes of cooling. (Limited for Iron Clever).
These skills are considered a class-specific advantage. Any Profession class can obtain such an item from their respective Instructor, simply by purchasing and learning more than five different types of Recipes.
In addition to Blacksmithing, other Crafter classes have similar facilities. The tailor can get a special Mana Absorption enhancement effect. Alchemists could obtain a special thermos that allowed swallowing three herbs simultaneously, minus the cooldown.
This advantage allowed Profession players to survive a little longer whenever they were attacked by PKers until NPC guards came to their rescue.
