"Welcome to my private villa." Max heard clearly when Lyra—the woman who had been his best friend for a long time, but now suddenly turned into his lover—declared that woman was the owner of this villa.
Max is still gawking when Lyra then pulls his hand to immediately enter the villa. "Close the door, Max. It'll soon be dark and the air will get colder" orders Lyra, who is busy putting Max's things into the room downstairs.
"You may use this room" said Lyra, leaving the door wide open. Shows some of its contents that look neat and comfortable.
"I will use my own room on the second floor" he said again and entered another room without a door on the left wing of the villa, which looks like a fairly complete kitchen.
Max saw a fireplace with a good-quality rug lying in front of him, making the man tickle to sit on the rug while lighting the fireplace rather than sitting on the sofa.
"There was nothing to buy on the street," Lyra said, putting some emergency groceries in the fridge. "Tonight we were forced to eat potluck, but tomorrow morning I will go down the hill to shop at the traditional market there" Lyra said.
"As far as you go, Ly. I'm the patient here, remember?" max answered while twitching his shoulders. The man appears to have lit a gas-fired fireplace, removed his jacket and rolled up his long elbow-length shirt sleeve.
While Lyra looks busy making dinner for the two of them. The trip to the villa took longer than usual due to congestion at some point.
As a result they only arrived at the villa shortly before dinner, which is why Lyra immediately made several pieces of grilled sandwiches with potluck ingredients.
Lyra piled some mozzarella cheese inside the ham sandwich. Lyra remembered that Max really liked mozza cheese, which is why Lyra also stocked quite a lot of cheese that would be melted if heated it in the refrigerator.
"Is there anything I can help you with?" max asked as he leaned against the doorless frame, which became the entrance and exit between the kitchen and the fireplace.
His sudden presence surprised Lyra a little. The long-haired woman with the curly end took a quick glance at Max who was watching her while folding both hands in front of her chest.
Making Max's perfectly formed arm muscles bulge flaunting the aura of a masculine man.
Lyra swallowed her saliva. Suddenly nervous because of the presence of a sexy man who is now his impromptu lover.
"No, no need," Lyra replied quickly. "I just had to bake the sandwich. What do you want? coffee or tea?" lyra asked Max without turning her head towards the handsome man behind her.
"I want some coffee" replied Max, who was suddenly next to Lyra, then grabbed a spatula from her hand and took over the task of grilling a ham sandwich full of cheese.
Lyra's heartbeats are becoming increasingly rhythmic. To distract her from Max's existence, Lyra ends up preoccupying herself with brewing two cups of coffee for herself and for Max.
After everything was ready, Max arranged a large serving plate full of grilled sandwiches and two cups of coffee onto the tray and took it out of the kitchen.
"We're not going to eat here? at the dinner table?" ask Lyra to Max.
Max shook his head, and continued to step into the fireplace. Although astonished, Lyra finally chose to follow Max who finally sat on the rug right in front of the fireplace.
"Is this some kind of picnic in the room?" ask Lyra.
"Picture it that way. I don't remember our first date after becoming lovers, so like you said yesterday at the Hospital, we're going to start making new memories in our relationship, so— just enjoy!" max said as he blinked one eye.
Lyra could only grimace at Max's words, but in her heart was a little sorry for lying to the man who could be said to be sick.
It is undeniable if Lyra's heart was sliced must pretend to be the lover of the man she secretly loved. But all this he did to save Max from the Fox of Pelakor—Melody Lynn.
Max slapped the surface of the rug right beside him, hinting Lyra to sit there immediately. Lyra according to him. He can only surrender to the state of remembering now he is pretending to be Max's lover.
Lyra was reluctant, because her heart beat was always uncontrollable when her body was close to Max. However, if he rejects such a small thing, Max could be suspicious and his plans will fail even before he can uncover evidence of Melody's affair with Dylan.
The two then sit comfortably taking their respective positions and start eating a grilled sandwich that looks tempting.
"I didn't see your luggage, Ly? Didn't you bring anything here?" ask Max.
"indeed not. I just brought my little bag. This is my villa, remember? So some of my stuff is already here, in that room," pointed Lyra at a door upstairs that was visible from where they were sitting.
Max looks mangosteen while looking up. The open roof of the fireplace room makes it able to see to the second floor which is bounded by a circular wooden fence and connected to the edge of the stairs.
From between the wooden fence, Max can also see a room door designated by Lyra and another room door next to Lyra's room.
"I see there's two doors, are there two rooms up there, Ly?" max asked as he put the last piece of his first sandwich into his mouth.
Lyra nodded quickly, "Yes, there are two bedrooms up there, one is my room, the other is my father's room" Lyra replied.
After the first sandwich was finished. Max took a sip of his coffee and started picking up another sandwich.
"This villa used to belong to my father. He will stay here for two to three nights if there is no filming schedule to release fatigue and stress during work. However, when my father died, he bequeathed this villa to me because I was his only heir" Lyra said with eyes fixed.
Max listened carefully to Lyra's story while enjoying the beautiful face of the woman next to him.
"There are a couple who have been guarding this villa for decades, they always clean this villa including my father's room even though it is no longer used," lyra explained as she continued to feed a piece of sandwich into her mouth.
Max's hand suddenly stretched out when he saw a small piece of cheese lumeran left at the lip of Lyra. Max rubbed the cheese with his thumb while smiling, staring fixedly at Lyra's gawking eyes after unexpected treatment from Max.
And more unexpectedly, Max, who finally carried away his own feelings, then moved his face closer to Lyra's face. Slowly but surely, Max pressed his lips against Lyra's.
Lyra who is still gawking can not dwell at that time. Feeling no rejection from Lyra, Max closer his lips to Lyra's. Give some of the ******* which is gentle but in. As Lyra's body begins to stiffen, Max lets go of her kiss.
"You know what, Ly? I've been wanting to do this for a long time" said Max softly.
His thumb that is still attached to Lyra's face is now rubbing Lyra's lips that turned out to be as soft and sweet as marshmallow according to Max.
"Since I've been very curious to feel your lips. And it turns out that it was more than I expected" Max said happily. "I must've kissed you a lot after we dated. Because I really like that lip of yours," Max added.
Whahuh? Since long? Lyra was confused herself. Why was Max curious about the taste of my lips long ago? Has Max liked me since? ask Lyra in your heart.
"Tell me, Ly! Since when do we date? Am I the one who expressed my feelings first? Ahh, that's for sure because you probably didn't like me that much at the time. And what have we done together?" ask Max streak.
"Woow, wow, patient Max. One question at a time," Lyra quickly replied as she tried to neutralize the pounding on her own chest, as a result of Max's unexpected kiss.
"But I can't wait, Ly. You know, I've liked you for a long time. Oh, you probably already know because I've been telling you since we dated, '" Max said in a way that was his own fault.
The handsome man looked clumsy while scratching his non-itchy head. Max then took his cup of coffee and downed the black drink until almost half was left to treat the clumsy taste.
Lyra was silent at Max's confession just now. Did he not hear wrong? think Lyra. If Max really liked her a long time ago why would Max be in a relationship with Melody Lynn even plan to marry her? think Lyra again.
Suddenly a sense of annoyance perched on his chest. Between trust and disbelief Lyra accepts Max's involuntary declaration of love.
Had it been, if Max wasn't amnesiac, would the man still not have admitted his feelings for Lyra so blatantly? Lyra wondered in her heart.
Why would Max prefer to date Melody instead of confessing his feelings for Lyra? So you can't believe Max was married to Lyra's response to her? Lyra was worried, upset and agitated.
"Either what possessed me until I finally determined to express my feelings for you at that time. Aahhh, I'm so upset that I've forgotten our momentous moment, Ly." Max drops his head on Lyra's lap spoiled.
Lyra flinched as she felt the gentle movement of Max's head above her lap. Lyra even reflexively raised both of her hands in surprise. Fortunately, Max was blooming with his face facing the fireplace, not realizing the awkwardness of Lyra.
"I'm sorry, Ly. Forgive me for forgetting our wonderful memories. And thank you for accepting me to be your lover! I'm very, very happy."
Max smiled broadly as he said so. Makes Lyra feel more guilty about the man. And also makes Lyra more convinced Max's feelings are real for her.
How'this? Lyra panicked herself. Whether he should stop this lie right now and immediately reveal everything, including showing evidence of Melody's affair to Max.
But seeing the happiness so radiated from the look on Max's face made Lyra could not bear to ruin it. Damaging the happiness that Lyra had just seen and felt from her best friend.
Lyra's getting more upset. And if you can be honest, he actually quite enjoyed this togetherness of theirs. The possible togetherness will instantly change as Max's memory returns, a memory of his true reality. That they were never lovers at all. Even the memory of the existence of a Melody Lynn in Max's life.
Finally, after a fierce consideration inside his head. Lyra decided to continue her charade until tomorrow. Tomorrow, he'll tell Max the truth at breakfast. Lyra promised herself.
"Ly, why are you quiet? Are you sleepy?" ask Max by touching Lyra's cheek. Making the woman again gasp in shock and awkwardness.
"Eh, yes. I'm a little tired. Maybe I should get some quick sleep tonight, so that tomorrow morning I can make breakfast for you and then go to the market down the hill." Lyra gave a reason to immediately run away from Max's side.
Max clapped for a moment, then finally lifted his head from Lyra's lap and sat back down. He took Lyra's hand and kissed Lyra's palm deeply.
"Actually I'm reluctant to let you go, I still want to be with you like this." whined Max. "But all right, sleep upstairs, Ly. Rest up. Let me clean this up, "pointing Max to their dinner plates and cups.
"But you're the patient, let me take care of it" Lyra replied quickly.
"It's okay, taking care of something this small won't make me faint" quipped Max. "After all the injured are my head, not my hands" the man added.
"Well then, I'll go to the first room, yes, good night Max," said Lyra, standing with one hand still attached to Max.
"Good Night, Ly," Max replied, releasing Lyra's hand from his grasp.
But Lyra had not yet walked to the stairs. Suddenly a lightning bolt struck and instantly the entire villa went dark.
"YAAAAAA...!!!!" Lyra was screaming hysterically. Make Max reflex stand up and hugged Lyra's body tightly.
Max again pulls Lyra's body which has been shaking violently to sit back on the rug. Max knew Lyra had Nyctophobia.
Several times he witnessed how panicked Lyra was when she had to face the darkness either intentionally or unexpectedly as it is today. When the villa lights suddenly turn off and make the entire villa completely dark.
Only the dim light from the fireplace is still burning because it is gas-fueled. From outside the glass window whose curtains are still open, it seems that rain immediately fell.
"Calm down, Ly. Relax, I'm here. You'll be fine, Okay," Max whispered to Lyra without loosening his arms.
Lyra did not cry, but her body still trembled. Lyra tightened her arms, clutching Max's shirt on the man's back, hoping Max wouldn't leave her in the darkness she hated so much.
Feeling impossible to get out of place even just to pick up a blanket in the bedroom, Max tried to enlarge the fireplace so that they both stay warm even without wearing a blanket.
Fortunately some sofa cushions lying not far from where they sat hugged. With one hand Max reached out to the pillows without letting go of Lyra's embrace.
After arranging the sofa cushions in such a way, Max slowly settles himself and Lyra who is still attached in his arms to lie on the rug in front of the fireplace.
"We'd better sleep here tonight" said Max. " You can't sleep alone in the upper room in this complete darkness" Max added, slipping his jacket over Lyra's body.
Lyra still didn't respond. His face was still drowning in Max's arms. However, slowly Max can feel the vibrations in Lyra's body begin to subside.
I don't know how long it has been, finally Lyra's breath seems to be regular because of sleep. Not so with Max. The man let go of Lyra's embrace slowly so that the woman could sleep more comfortably.
The sleeping face of Lyra in the dim light of the fireplace. Max feels his feelings for Lyra. It was no longer possible to let go of the woman who was asleep beside him.
