"Please hold on, one, two, ti..."

Czechoslovak.. Ckrekks..

Flashes of blitz lights rained down on Verda and Vedra posing in front of the camera. At first they look so awkward because they have to pose so close to display the intimacy of a married couple.

"Bang, his hand held his wife's waist, closer still," the photographer who directed the style.

Verda wrapped her hands around Vedra's neck. He realized that the man was taller than him. They had indeed never been this close before, so they were both extraordinarily awkward.

"Yes, one more time, the wife's hand on the husband's chest yes, look at each other, hold his smile," the photographer again directed the style.

The photo session for the two of them became the end of the wedding reception. The guests gradually left the event venue. All that remained were the extended family members Pak Padri and Bu Fadlun who seemed busy wrapping the excess food.

Verda immediately entered the house, gathered in the living room and sat down on the floor on a Turkish-style tapestry.

Buffet foods such as meat, fried chicken, egg opor, fried noodles, and soto are served in their midst.

"All of you please come out first, I want to talk to them" Bu Fadlun asked everyone in the room.

"Let's eat first, you must be hungry right," Mr. Padri invited him to eat together.

Verda took a bowl of soto, the fruiting dish would obviously warm her stomach. Vedra immediately ate the contents of his bowl because he was just hungry.

"Vedra, try to explain why you didn't marry Silvia and instead brought this woman here" Bu Fadlun said in a cynical and piercing tone.

"'You must have heard it yourself, right, people have made you a talking point! Everyone knows that you're going to marry Silvia, but why did you marry this woman?!"

Verda was honestly furious to hear her mother-in-law who was clearly discrediting Verda. This girl has a name! This woman's name is Verda! I want Verda to say that.

It's a Vedra problem and its parents, so it's wiser if Verda doesn't interfere with the problem and prefers to eat warm soto that is so fresh with lemon juice.

"Mother, Father, right now, I think it's better we don't have to worry about why the woman who is my wife is not Silvia. Right now the woman I marry is Verda, and I have to take full responsibility for Verda's life who is already willing to be my wife" Vedra replied firmly.

Bu Fadlun was astonished to get such a resolute Vedra answer.

"Vedra, that's right! You're really like the guy who bought a cat in a sack!" sergeant Bu Fadlun.

"It's up to you to say what, but this is the decision I've made" Vedra replied.

"Oh, this kid!" Bu Fadlun held the back of his neck which suddenly felt cramping.

"Mother, already, need not be questioned anymore. As parents we are enough to support Vedra alone, Vedra is mature and can already be responsible for the decision he took," Mr. Padri interjected.

Bu Fadlun snorted loudly, the middle-aged woman immediately got up and left as a form of disapproval of Vedra's decision.

Vedra breathed a heavy sigh, it felt like she could not if she had to tell her parents that Silvia had canceled their marriage just because of a ridiculous prophecy. It is a shame that people come to know the predictions that clearly drop the pride of Vedra.

"So, Verda, have you known Vedra for a long time?" ask Mr. Padri.

"Yes sir, that's fine" Verda replied.

"So, you have no problem getting married to Vedra?" ask Mr. Padri.

"No problem" replied Verda.

Padri commented on the friendly smile. At least the middle-aged man did not need to feel anxious because his son was finally married as well after having previously experienced two failures.

Verda sat in the chair behind the man's study desk. Many books are neatly arranged in shelves. No wonder the man is a bookworm. But who could have guessed that the nerdy guy seemed to be a covert playboy?

Vedra knocked on her mother's bedroom door. Acil Inam's head appeared in the doorway.

"Acil, is there my mother?" ask Vedra.

"What's wrong?" ask Acil Inam.

Vedra broke into her mother's room. His eyes swept across the room room which was currently filled with white envelopes which were the angpaos of the guests. Ms. Fadlun is seen opening one envelope at a time, checking the contents and telling Reni, Bu Fadlun's niece, to record each name listed on the envelope along with the nominal.

"Mom" said Vedra to his mother.

"What's wrong? I'm lazy to talk to you! Lazy seeing you!" Bu Fadlun ignored Vedra's presence.

"Sana, just your wife's donkey! You are, have been educated high, expensive, far away! But can a wife whose style is exactly that naughty woman! You bungul!" Fierce Bu Fadlun while tearing the sealed envelope.

Vedra furrowed her brows hearing the word bungul which means stupid.

"Mother, it's unethical to judge someone by their appearance" Vedra said.

"Hike the ikam banar, himung it's the milk pang against the ganal stern!" bu Fadlun's tone rose by three octaves.

The words of Bu Fadlun mean that Vedra has smitten women with large breasts and buttocks.

Acil Inam and Reni are seen chuckling at Bu Fadlun's sniffle. Bu Fadlun's neckline appears to expand to three times its normal size.

"Mom, this isn't a big chest and butt. Verda's willing to marry me that's more than enough, ma'am," Vedra defended herself.

"Ved, you're the kind of guy who doesn't do it! In this village, there are many women who want to be your wife! But I don't want to because I think you should get better! Women who are not only beautiful, but have a higher education, from a good family! Your wife is too modern! Dress but naked! It's not wrong for Siti to call your wife a bad girl!" Mrs Fadlun still continues her tirade.

"Mother, women in big cities do look like that, but that's not a benchmark that they are bad women! They just want to express themselves!" Vedra tries to explain.

"What is the naked form of expressing oneself?" Reni chimed in cynically.

Vedra glared at her cousin.

"No need for julid, Reni! If only your body shape was not like a water barren so, you would have been more daring to express yourself right?!" reply Vedra is no less cynical.

"Mouth, Ved! I became like a water tank like this because I gave birth to three children! Just look, your wife will be a water baron too if you have children! No need to be so smart!" sulkul Reni held back her sense of regret.

His cousin rarely spoke, but if you have commented it must be spicy.

"Haji Banun, five hundred thousand!" Ms. Fadlun resumed her activities.

Reni immediately took notes in her notebook.

"Mom, can you give me this angpao money?" ask Vedra.

"Can't! This is money I'll share with all the successful team organizers at your wedding reception, everyone who's helped!" sahut Bu Fadlun's.

"Mother?" Vedra was flabbergasted at her mother's decision.

"Why? Any problem? Was it your wife who told you to ask for all this angpao money? It's so delicious! Here everyone is bothered, tired of taking care of the wedding, he came just as a display but wants this angpao money! Hoho, can't!" cecar Bu Fadlun's.
