"This is your outfit." After giving Alesha clothes, Devan came out of the room. He took his medical equipment and medicine in his study. Devan does have a special room in his house for him to work on medical reports and to store all medical equipment and medicines. Some neighbors also often seek treatment to his home when sick and he does an examination also in his study.
After that, he brought his medical equipment into the room and sat down on the edge of the bed.
Alesha who was already wearing her pajamas just looked at Devan who was now sitting next to her. He was still ashamed of what happened just now. Does Devan still remember?
Devan took an oral thermometer to check Alesha's body temperature. "Open his mouth, put it under his tongue." Waiting for the thermometer, Devan checked Alesha's heartbeat with her stethoscope.
Devan scrunched his forehead when he heard Alesha's rapid heartbeat. Then he held onto Alesha's wrist and checked her pulse. "Your heart rate is fast." Then Devan took a thermometer and saw the results. "Your temperature is 39 degrees. Pretty high."
While Alesha only saw the panicked face of Devan. Her heart rate was beating faster because the one who examined her was her own husband who had accidentally seen her body.
Devan took the bruised ointment and rubbed it on Alesha's bluish ankle. "Lesha hold on a minute." Devan straightened Alesha's legs and slightly pressed down on her.
"Aw, sick!"
"Yes, sick. I wrapped the bandage to get the ligaments back to where they were. Don't move much yet." Devan took a pillow to put Alesha's legs higher and began bandaging her with brown bandages.
"About the old heal?"
"Two days are healed." After finishing wrapping Alesha's feet, Devan came out of the room to grab some food because Alesha had not eaten anything since noon. Moments later he returned to the room with a plate of rice and a glass of water. He put it on the table and helped Alesha sit back.
"You ate first keep taking the medicine."
Alesha just stared at the plate that was now in Devan's hands. He no longer has appetite, even his stomach now feels nauseous.
Devan begins to feed Alesha but Alesha tightly shuts her mouth while shaking her head. "You eat first."
"My stomach is not good" said Alesha.
"Papa ate slowly. You're late for eating."
"Is Mr. Devan eating?" Alesha asked back.
Devan shook his head because he had not had time to eat. He takes Alesha first over himself.
"Then Mr. Devan eats too. This is mostly," Alesha said.
"Yes, but here you eat first." Devan brought the spoon back closer to Alesha's mouth.
Finally Alesha was willing to take a bribe from Devan. After feeding Alesha new she feeds herself. Devan smiled a little in his heart, this was the wisdom food he had ever tasted besides the mouthful from his mother's hand.
"Sir, already. Just finish it." Alesha covered her mouth with her hands.
"Why?"
Alesha only shook her head but after Devan finished her meal, Alesha opened her mouth and leaned in. "Sir stomach I'm so nauseous. I'm going to the bathroom."
"I'll get you a place, no need to go to the bathroom." But just as Devan stepped up, Alesha was already unable to endure her nausea. He regurgitated the food he had just eaten plus the acid reflux that had gone up. Devan held back Alesha's hair while rubbing her back.
"You got stomach acid?"
Alesha nodded slowly. "Sir Devan is not disgusted? Sorry."
Devan shook his head as he rubbed Alesha's lips with a tissue, then he helped Alesha lay herself down. "I'm used to it." Devan immediately picked up the cleaning equipment and cleaned it quickly. After he sprayed it with aroma therapy, he came out to take the gastric medicine.
Moments later, she enters the room with the nurse who usually takes care of Ms. Rahma. "Lesha, you take the stomach medicine first so that the nausea goes away, then I infuse."
Alesha shook her head hard. "I don't want to be infused. It hurts."
"It doesn't hurt, let's not dehydrate you." Devan helps Alesha sit up and takes the stomach medicine first. "Sus, take the infusion pole."
"Yes, Doc."
"I don't want to be infused."
"Sir, it must hurt." Alesha hid her face in Devan's chest.
"Not hurt, don't strain." Devan holds Alesha's wrist and looks for the vein. "Suster is here. One press yes." Devan held Alesha's hand from moving. Eventually the infusion needle was successfully installed.
"Lesha, isn't it sick?" devan asked while looking at the nurse who was arranging the incoming liquid. "It's normal Sus, don't be too fast."
Alesha loosened her embrace and looked at her hand that had been attached to the infusion.
"illness?" ask Devan again.
"Little."
"Yes, you rest. Let me compress to get your fever down quick."
Alesha nodded her head and threw herself down.
"Do you need help, Doc?"
"No need, Sus. You just go home. Tomorrow morning just come here, all take care of Alesha because I leave tomorrow morning."
"Yes, Doc. Excuse me."
Alesha just stared at Devan who kept taking care of her. Devan is now compressing Alesha's forehead.
"You're asleep. It's gonna get better tomorrow."
"Thank you, sir."
"It's my job."
"Duty as a doctor or husband?" ask Alesha.
"Both," Devan said with a smile. He now rubbed Alesha's cheek. "Since I married you, I've considered you my wife. And if it could be the other way around..."
Alesha continued to look at Devan, yes it was clear that the door to her heart was now starting to open with Devan's sweet treatment. "Sir, hmm, may I just call Brother Devan."
"certainly could. I'm happy." Devan got rid of the boy hair that was stuck on Alesha's cheeks. "You're sleeping now I'm taking care of."
Alesha nodded her head then she closed her eyes. Several times Devan replaced Alesha compress until the night was late.
"I forgot to tell Alesha's parents, I'll call in the morning" Devan murmured.
Then he stood up and walked out of the room just as Dirga was standing in front of the door.
Dirga could see Alesha lying on the bed with the infusion attached to her hand.
"Dirga, I want to talk to you!" Devan pulls Dirga into the kitchen so no one hears their conversation. "I told you never to bother Alesha again! What happened this afternoon to Alesha was dangerous! How about Alesha drift away."
"I'm just talking to Alesha."
"You please keep your distance from Alesha."
Dirga looked up at his brother. "I don't want Alesha to be like Devan's sister."
"Why?"
"Because I love Alesha. I'll take Alesha again from Brother Devan." Then Dirga turned her body and went to her room.
"Dirga!" Devan just clenched his hand. "I'm not gonna let that happen. I don't want Alesha to get hurt again because of Dirga."
