Maura: The New Year Tragedy

A Priest

The cold night air does not ignite the spirit for the inhabitants of the earth to celebrate the turn of the year. So many activities are also events that they do to welcome the arrival of a new year with a much better life.

The same goes for the Abrisam family in Switzerland. They were all in the house to celebrate the turn of the year. With the bonfire already burning at one point, they all did their respective duties.

Like Anelis who helped Alex also Bara was burning some corn and grilling meat and sausages. The three of them looked so happy to have the task of burning. Though in fact, Anelis only laughed when she heard Alex and Bara were talking about people who yesterday asked them both to prepare a place for dinner as well as celebrate a birthday for Freya. Everything failed, even the promised car had disappeared from their eyes just because Maura forbade Bryan to be alone with Freya. Maura was afraid that her mother would get sick again.

"This is why the corn is so charred like this?!" mama Lea complained when she wanted to take the corn that had been burned.

"Who's this burning?" mama Lea asked looking at the three people assigned to the barbeque section.

Compactly Anelis also Bara pointed to Alex who looks relaxed just by eating some sausages that are ready to be baked.

"Why is my beautiful Aunt Lea of the entire universe?"

"It's just a matter of burnt corn. His name is also grilled corn, otherwise the charred corn is boiled" Alex said with his innocent look and indistinct smiles.

Mama Lea shook her head to hear Alex's reply. It's true what Alex said, something that was burned was definitely the result of being burnt. But if it is to be eaten, it is not possible to scorch it all.

"Why does Alvaro have a friend like him, God?" mama Lea complains dizzy to see the behavior of her son's friends who she thinks there is nothing wrong all and only Rendy who she thinks is always on the right track and not neko-neko.

"Burn again! Don't let anyone hosiery like you and take it there." pinta Mama Lea who passed away while carrying some ready grill results.

"Mother is the same child. The commanding officer." Alex grumbled that he did not like to be ordered. This he did because he himself came to Bryan's place uninvited. It was impossible for him to just sit back and enjoy a meal, even though he was not an uninvited guest.

"I'm sure that if Rendy was here, you'd be laughed at by your nemesis. And surely you will lose with him." taunted Bara by laughing at Alex who had never been in agreement with Rendy and always tried to be the best and foremost of Rendy.

"Sorry! Don't know whose name is Rendy." Alex sewot the least likes to be compared to Rendy from a long time ago.

"It's still a matter of no reason to get Mutia." Bara chirped.

"You!! Keep your stove's mouth shut." Alex who was furious with Bara then curled Bara's neck with his right hand.

"Alex!!! Where's the grilled corn!?"

Alex cusses and releases his hand from Bara's hand upon hearing the thunderous screams of the big madam who has a shrill voice like a flute. In a hurry he burned some more corn at Mama Lea's request.

Not far from them, there was Bryan who looked uninspired and was so lazy to accompany Maura to play fireworks. He really wasn't allowed with Maura to approach his mother, Freya. Maura was afraid that her mother would feel pain again and the little boy would at least have the heart to see her mother feel pain.

"Dad!! Let's turn it on again." pinta Maura who has taken the fireworks again on the table.

"All of you are Dad" Maura said as she watched her father pick up the new fireworks.

"Everything?" Maura subtact nodded in spirit as her answer. He loves to see fireworks at the new year. According to him the explosion was so beautiful even though he only saw it on television because the Mother never took him out to see fireworks and this was the first time he saw fireworks in person.

"Here first! I want to talk." Bryan squatted down and asked Maura to come closer to him.

"What Dad?" maura asked who was directly sitting on her father's thigh while wrapping her hands around his father's neck.

"Maura wants you to light all the fireworks?" bryan asked and immediately embraced Maura.

"Maura knows you're afraid of fireworks?" again Maura nodded her head.

"Maura knows, because Mommy never invited Maura to see fireworks. Maura asked to buy fireworks also never obeyed." said Maura recalled that every time she asked to buy fireworks, her mother was always angry. He was never invited to see fireworks during the new year.

"If Maura knew you were afraid of fireworks, why did Maura ask to buy this many fireworks? And why did Maura ask Dad to light all the fireworks?"

Maura looked at her confused father, she was at a loss as to what to answer. He himself did not know why, for sure at this time he was eager to see the fireworks and light his own fireworks.

"Why? hmmm." Bryan raised his eyebrows to see his confused daughter thinking before answering her question.

"That'S....!!" Maura scratched her non-itchy head. He was confused as to what to answer.

"Mother from earlier did not come out of her room when she found out Maura asked to buy fireworks" said Bryan who recalled Freya was in the room with Mama Marisa.

"Maura asked Mommy to stay in the room because Maura did not want Mommy to be close to Daddy. Maura doesn't want Mommy to be sick like that." Maura recalled her Mother who had felt pain in her waist earlier this afternoon and was instantly healed when she was not close to Bryan's father.

Bryan breathed a rough breath. Actually it has nothing to do Freya is sick because it is close to her or not. Freya only felt small contractions because it was near the birth of Bryan Junior.

"The mother will soon give birth, so it's only natural that Mother often feels pain in her back especially her stomach."

"Does Maura not feel sorry for Mother if she has to feel her own pain without a Father beside Mother?" bryan asked as he looked at Maura gently.

Maura shook her head slowly, she did not want her Mother to endure the pain alone without anyone accompanying her by her side. Maura also remembered that she was accompanied by her mother every time she was sick.

"Maura doesn't want Mommy to be alone" Maura said with teary eyes. She would most not like to see her mother sick.

"Father may accompany Mother, but Father must not take Mother anywhere." Bryan smiled when he finally met Freya.

"Dad must not take Mother to a place that has been prepared Uncle Bara same Uncle Alex." Bryan frowned confusedly, where did his daughter know, he thought.

"Dad can only accompany Mother in the room only. Later Maura will send food and drinks for Daddy and Mommy" said Maura by wiping her tears that almost fell from her eye sinks.

Bryan breathed a sigh of relief, as if he could meet Freya even though the dinner that had been prepared since yesterday failed for a number of times.

"So Daddy can be close again with Mother right? Accompanying Mother?" bryan asked and was taken by Maura.

Bryan gave a small smile and kissed his little daughter with anxiety. Finally able to free from Maura and meet Freya who from afternoon can not be near because it is always blocked Maura.

"But Father accompanied Maura for a moment. Light the fireworks first, after that you can accompany Mother." point Maura at the fireworks lying on the table.

Bryan nodded in agreement and lowered Maura who was sitting on his forehead. He stood up and did what Maura wanted just now.

Maura screamed for pleasure as her fireworks shot into the air in beautiful shapes and colors.

"Happy new year!!" maura shouted with jumping up and down.

Bryan just shook his head with a small smile, but his new year is still one hour away, but this has lit fireworks and almost half of the purchased was already up first.

"Yes already. Maura was accompanied by aunty Caca, I went inside first." Maura nodded her head and let Bryan's father accompany Mother Freya.

Bryan goes into the house and heads to his room to meet Freya. He stopped his steps when he heard the conversation between Freya and Mama Marisa.

"Here, don't cry anymore. Pity her debay will be sad." said Mama Marisa while gently rubbing Freya's mane.

"Freya remembers her pregnancy and giving birth to Maura, Ma."

"Freya..Freya doesn't, _" Freya can't go on. He felt very dirty and prayed at that moment.

Mama Marisa took Freya into her arms. He knew Freya's intention to have been pregnant out of wedlock, his daughter would never complain of pain during pregnancy and childbirth, just like Anelis had been when she was pregnant with Michel. Unlike now, Freya always complains of pain during her pregnancy now.

He gently brushed Freya's long mane, giving her peace of mind. If he had met Freya from the beginning when Mr. Armand was still alive, maybe the fate of his daughter would not be like that time. Even though it has already been, he can certainly encourage his daughter not to fall and have a lot of trauma like today.

"Everything that happens first, make yesterday a lesson for yourself much better later."

"Man is wrong and wrong, and as a Muslim we have a God who is forgiving and generous."

"So ask forgiveness from Him. Repent earnestly to Him for the sins you once committed with Bryan."

"Continue to beware of the sins and wrongs we have done so far even though we have repented."

Bryan who was behind the door leaned his head against the door leaf with his eyes closed. He felt so many sins that he had committed considering he had never repented at all. He only prays because of his prestige when he saw Freya praying.

Bryan massaged the base of his nose slowly feeling himself failing to be a good priest for his wife and child. He has always only given happiness to his wife and children with luxury, wealth and money.

"I'm an example of a bad husband. Bad, very bad."

"It turns out that what I have now cannot make my inner wife safe and quiet."

"I failed. I failed to become a priest. I'm just a husband to Freya, not a good priest to Freya and my little family."
