Lestari held out her red pelastic mucus to receive the water she poured from the dispenser tap. Once full, he stopped the water and covered the mucus with a lid. In such a dusty workplace, a glass or mucous cover is essential to keep drinking water clean.
The slender-haired girl should return to her workplace located some distance away in the factory.
The noise of compressor machines, board cutting machines, v-cut machines, to router machines become one in every day working hours at the speaker box factory. The smell of dust from the dregs of boards and aibon glue used as adhesives in production, is familiar in smell. No factory floor is free from dust, even the dust is mounted around the cutting machine area.
A pair of Lestari's clasped legs climbed onto the dusty factory floor. He went through several piles of wide boards to piles of boards that have gone through the cutting process.
It appears that some male workers who play singles are focused on their work. Somewhat different from the team in the glue spraying and vinyl plating section, they worked while chatting to joke, when indeed the foreman was not standing near them.
For a moment Lestari looked at the huge v-cut machine. A machine that has five v cutting blades that are shaped like thick discs. The machine seemed to have stopped working. Although large, but the machine is only run by an operator only.
Lestari didn't see the operator. However, as Lestari continued to walk, her secretly searching eyes finally found the operator of the v-cut machine. Seen behind a pile of neatly arranged v-cut boards, standing next to a young man who looks ordinary, especially facing the Qibla. The young man in a black shirt was erecting prayers on a board sheet he had placed on a thick floor of wood grain dust.
The young man was named Irwan, an employee who had recently worked at the PT factory. Gayanomi, but in a short time was placed to hold a large machine by the foreman. The v-cut machine is the largest machine in the bok speaker factory.
Although his face was flat, but what Irwan did was unusual, making Lestari's heart smile.
Although prayer is mandatory for Muslims and has become a routine worship, but performing prayer is unusual if it is done in Gayanomi. The condition was created because almost all employees in the factory did not know the name of religious practice. It could be said that only one or two people used to pray, even female employees. And more unusual again, Irwan perform prayers in the middle of a stretch of dust hill, sometimes even with the condition of clothes and body covered with dust. Several times also Irwan seen praying in a high place, on a pile of wide boards that have not gone through the cutting process. However, Irwan seemed to be just being indifferent with the worship that he did it.
Lestari finally arrived at her work area called the Accessories Section. He sat in his chair, across the table from Shamsiah, a young woman, but his face looked much older than Lestari's. Shamsiah was a young widow with one child. He is 12 years old with 22-year-old Lestari.
“Mpok, is it okay to pray in the dust so?” asked Lestari while her gaze was thrown away looking at Irwan's position who was prostrating.
“Who?” ask Shamsiah. The Betawi woman kept working on cutting out a bright blue cloth that was a frame cover material, one of the components of the wooden speaker box that later covered the active speaker.
“Irwan,” replied Lestari, still looking over there.
Shamsiah then stopped for a moment, he looked towards the position of the v-cut machine. His gaze immediately gained Irwan who had just woken up from prostration.
“Mpok do not know. But, if if such a dust place is unclean, then why does Irwan pray there?” Syamsiah. “You just pay attention.”
“No, just curious, why Irwan salat in such a place,” kilah Lestari with a little smile contains shame.
“You just ask Irwan,” said Syamsiah.
“Ih! Not familiar, Mpok!” kelit Lestari's.
“She's a teacher teaching you, Tari. After the magrib he taught njai at the house of Mpok Biah. Mpok has never seen him sit with a girl in Dadap,” Syamsiah said in a rather excited tone.
“Mpok wants to say that Irwan does not have a girlfriend yet, right?” lestari Terka.
“Smart son!” shamsiah then laughed. “Usually that girl who is in love, her brain is working dilute.”
“Who fell in love, Mpok? I did not fall in love, just curious Irwan salatnya on the dust,” protested Lestari with a face turned a bit panicked mixed half embarrassed.
“Mpok you are not in love, usually dong nyangkalnya, hahaha!” shamsiah said then laughed loudly, because it felt funny with Lestari's reaction.
“Woi! So many!” shouted another girl who was sitting in a group with three other girls at the other table. The cute black-faced girl with the Indian woman's face was named Eka. He and his friends were working on an electronic job that was an active speaker component.
“You know it!” sahut Syamsiah while still leaving his laughter.
Finally Lestari just smiled at the girls at the other table. Before returning to focus on his work, Lestari still had time to throw his gaze at the v-cut machine area. There, it appears Irwan re-started his work machine. Lestari somewhat shifted her chair, as her gaze was somewhat obstructed by the pile of small boards.
Syamsiah just glanced at Lestari while smiling to himself. He could guess what the purpose of Lestari was to shift her chair.
“Mpok to toilet first, yes,” Syamsiah told Lestari.
“Yes, Mpok.”
Shamsiah then moved from her seat. To get to the toilet the woman in blue jeans had to go out to the front of the building, because the toilet was outside the building.
On his way, Shamsiah picked up a small piece of wood. When it passed not far from the v-cut machine area, the woman threw the wood in her hand at Irwan who was standing waiting for the machine to run itself.
The throw hit Irwan's right arm, making the young man quickly look up. Irwan, who covered half his face with a small towel, saw Syamsiah walking while laughing without a sound to look at him. It only made Irwan stand still staring in wonder. Irwan then resumed his work.
Irwan picked up a board attached to the v-cut machine's iron bar. The board has been cut thinly on three sides, but not to cut the vinyl layer, so if the board is bent all, it will form a board box whose corners bend neatly and smooth. With a quick movement, Irwan put the cut board into a neat arrangement, then he took another board that was still straight intact. The board he put on an iron bar that has strong suction holes, so that when the machine is on the run, the, the board that was cut by three blades that spun very quickly did not undergo the slightest shift.
Irwan continued to work so that the pile of boards that were about to be cut by the machine ran out. Irwan had to shut down the engine. He then went with a board truck to the vinyl installation section. In the area of gluing and installation of vinyl appears there is also a pile of boards that are ready to be processed in the v-cut machine.
With careful movement, Irwan moved little by little the stack of boards up the truck. Vinyl layer that has been neatly attached to the board should not be scratched in the slightest so as not to be damaged.
While working like that, Syamsiah passed near Irwan, returning from the toilet. Irwan only saw the whereabouts of Shamsiah when the woman had passed. Irwan was silent for a moment while looking at the back side of Syamsiah's body.
“Hayyo! Caught looking at the widow of flowers!”
Surprised Irwan when suddenly foreman Solihin caught him staring at the back body of Shamsiah.
“Hahaha!” irwan laughs slowly, then he said, “Can't reason me if it's been caught like this.”
Solihin laughs and embraces Irwan's shoulder, indicating that the two are indeed familiar.
“If you want, I can also be the matchmaker, Wan,” Solihin said.
“But I looked at Mpok Syamsiah not because of that, Mas,” said Irwan. “I want to ask him something.”
“Okay, I will wait for the development. If so, do not forget thanksgiving, hahaha,” said Solihin who is a Central Java man. He then left Irwan who was just smiling.
Irwan continued his work. After the lorries are full, then he pushes the pile of boards to where the machine is. The energy expended to push the load-laden lory is quite large from the muscles of the hands and both legs.
After arriving, it turns out that Irwan did not immediately continue his work, but went to the Accessories Section. He approached Shamsiah who had been sitting at work in his place.
Irwan's arrival to him was enough to make Shamsiah surprised, but then laughed a little. Across the table, Lestari just silently looked at Irwan. Nevertheless, there was a thump inside his chest. In his heart Lestari was worried if Syamsiah was acting idly by conveying this to Irwan. (BH)
