CHAPTER 35: CHEATING ON EACH OTHER

The leader of the Red Bandit was a 2 meter tall man with a ferocious face and there were countless marks of wounds on his face, he has sharp brown eyes and an aura that can make many people afraid when facing him, namely the aura of the battlefield he had been through.

As a retired Golden Guardian Kingdom warrior, he had gone through many battlefields either against the barbarians or the Frave Kingdom, but his disappointment towards the kingdom resulted in him deciding to become a bandit.

The man's name was Rylis, the highest position he had ever held was to captain 500 border troops before leaving.

Since becoming a bandit, he certainly met many of his colleagues from the military and recruited them all. Many of the people he tried to recruit refused his invitation, after all if the bandits were caught then they were generally sentenced to death. Moreover, Rylis was considered a traitor to the military, as long as she fell into royal custody, the death penalty was definitely handed down to her. Therefore, since leaving the military as well as being a bandit, there was no longer any way back for Rylis.

Currently he was leading his army towards the Anrateon region, almost all of his troops were brought except those guarding the base. The reason Rylis brought so many troops was because he was suspicious, from the beginning Rylis knew how much ambition belonged to Anrateon who was trying to control the entire mountain range.

So Rylis thought Anrateon would reject his invitation, after which he used his power to crush Anrateon's arrogance before inviting him to join the Red Sword Bandit group.

Although Anrateon is now filled with ambition, Rylis admits 1 thing from him that is the talent of Anrateon.

As long as Anrateon joined their bandit group, Rylis was confident that the strength their group possessed would increase many times over. Not to mention that he had seen Anrateon himself who was able to train 400 bandits into an elite army without anyone's help, it made Rylis even more determined to recruit him.

Because Anrateon was an ambitious man, Rylis was convinced he was not really giving up but there was another plan behind the surrender letter he sent.

Finally at noon, Rylis and her troops arrived in front of Anrateon's headquarters.

Seeing the arrival of an army of 1000 people, the gatekeepers of the Anrateon headquarters began to close their gates.

While Anrateon climbed to the top of the small new gate while shouting "What does this mean, Chairman Rylis? Though I have decided to surrender to you, but why bring so many troops here? Looks like you tricked me, your real goal is not to make me surrender but to seize my bandit army by bringing in that many troops".

Seeing Anrateon's attitude, Rylis grew more and more convinced her goal from the start was not to give up but to try to trap him. Rylis began to slash Anrateon's plan based on his attitude, then an idea popped into his head. He believes Anrateon's plan is to pretend to surrender in order to make Rylis or her representative come here on guard.

When he or his deputy comes with a little army to check, Anrateon will kill them.

For that reason, Anrateon definitely never thought Rylis came in full force.

A smile of victory appeared on Rylis' face, he felt Anrateon had already walked in his hands so he said "There is a misunderstanding here! We came here to bring peace, while the troops I brought here came only as proof that we respect your decision to join our forces. What if like this, as proof of my purpose of coming here is really good to accept your surrender, all of my troops will remain silent here while the ones to your base are only me and 100 of my troops, he said, how's it?".

Anrateon who was above the gate hesitated for a moment, Rylis who was below smiled confidently, she was sure Anrateon must have eaten up the trick he threw. However, Anrateon's current state was greatly harmed, even if he refused, Rylis along with 1000 troops was able to destroy all of Anrateon's forces. Therefore, he believed Anrateon had no other decision but to accept his offer.

"Trust me, I guarantee what I just said using my name" Rylis said.

Slowly the gate of the Anrateon Bandit headquarters opened. As the gate opened completely, a wide smile appeared on Rylis' face "It's time! The whole army attack! Show them, the price to pay for anyone trying to deceive our Red Sword Bandits!".

"Get it!".

Rylis was leading in the front row while 1000 troops followed behind him.

Anrateon's face changed, he realized he had been deceived which made ka scream full of panic and fear "Quickly, close the gate! They tricked us! Chief Rylis, don't you have any shame in using your own name as collateral when in fact you tricked us".

Rylis did not show a guilty face at all, even she laughed proudly "Anrateon, I admit you have great ability to train troops, but you are less cunning! Listen carefully, I'll teach you a lesson you'll never forget: never believe what the bandits say".

The gate of Anrateon headquarters began to try to close, while Rylis' group was still far away which made Anrateon happy because it seemed like the gate would close first before Rylis' troops could pass.

But just before the gate closed, something shocking happened. Rylis raised her spear and threw into the middle of the gate trying to close.

"Shelf!".

Rylis' spear was caught between the 2 gates that would close, because of the lance that was stuck, the gate could not be closed unless the spear in the middle was released first.

"How is it possible?" said Anrateon in shock, only to find out there was a way like this to stop the gate from closing.

Without waiting for Anrateon and the others to be ready, Rylis arrived before the gate. He took off the spear in the middle of the gate, then with his troops pushed the gate that would close back open.

After the gate opened completely, he rushed his troops to storm the Anrateon bandit headquarters "This is my victory, I suggest you all surrender in order to avoid unnecessary casualties, Anrateon!".

Rylis who thought he had won immediately froze because what he found behind the gate was not a frightened Anrateon army but thousands of troops surrounded them. At the very front of the army, there were 2 people with rank 7 energy equivalent to him, while the number of enemy troops was several times above his own troops.

Suddenly the gate behind Rylis was closed which made them unable to escape from here except to seize the gate opener that was above the gate where Anrateon had been since.
