your touch

The smell of the perfume I liked so much now no longer exists. It has changed. Not only the attitude and appearance, the brand of perfume has changed. I don't know what or who caused the nerdy Mark to change completely. Up to 180 degrees.

If calculated, 3 months already Mark did not tinker with his book closet. Usually, every time he returned to work part time in a minimarket, he always looked for novels in the closet and continued reading. It's always like that. To my knowledge, Mark never had the heart to see his books dusty. He always cleaned it routinely.

But this time he really changed. Part of his comic collection he gave to others. It was a good deed, but the books he often read used to be almost no more. Books left in the closet can be counted with ten fingers, not even until.

Want me to touch his burly arm and ‘hantam’ him with various questions. Why doesn't he read the book anymore? Why has it changed? And also, why doesn't he care about me anymore?

“I came home ..” Sounded Mark's voice in front of the house. He opened the door slowly, entered, and then closed it again. The sound of the door was clearly heard. Cho Ta Ra, Mark's older sister welcomed his arrival with a warm embrace.

Both of their parents no longer live in this house. Cho Dae Kyung, the father, had died a few years ago. Kim Nae Jeon, a lawyer mother, married an Indonesian man and settled there. However, Kim Nae Jeon is still very attentive with her two children. Mark and Ta Ra have no problem with having a second father.

Brother Ta Ra ‘ throws’ the broom he was wearing at me, then goes to the kitchen. I want to grimace in pain, but I can't. There's no way.

5 minutes later, Ta Ra came out from the side of the kitchen with two glasses of his flagship ice coffee.

Just two glasses? Where's the glass for me? I want to feel it too. Feeling the cold of a cup of coffee.

After sipping a glass of ice coffee, Mark looked at Kak Ta Ra for a moment. Brother Ta Ra who realized that immediately threw away a glance.

“Don't look at my sister with that look, Mark-ah,” Kak Ta Ra while elbowing Mark's stomach.

A small twinkle came out from the man's lips. “I want to go outside for a while tonight.”

“Shortly yes? Just for a moment,” remembered Kak Ta Ra like a mother.

Mark looked at me for a moment.

Huh huh?

When I got used to being ignored, she created that feeling again for me. A sense of where I think I should have it.

“You brought a bag? Later sister isiin the same jacket your favorite snack you know,” asked Kak Ta Ra who answered with a steady nod Mark.

Eight o'clock at night. Appropriately. Currently, Ta Ra is in the yard with her pet cat.

They’re enjoying a clear sky now.

While Ta Ra plays with his cat, Mark is in the living room with me. Yes, even if he doesn't acknowledge my existence. His face looked agitated, like he was waiting for something uncertain. Sweat droplets poured from his forehead and drenched almost his entire face.

Uhm.

Meet me!

A small ramen restaurant that has not closed.

The rain is getting heavier. How swift. After the Sun has been shining on the Earth for so long, it is now their turn to shower the Earth with such cold droplets.

Mark's burly hands were slightly approaching towards me. I reckon. Suddenly he touched me. A touch that warms me.

I pray to God that I can bring back the man next to me as I used to be. Mark was half dead when a new novel came out. Mark often irritates Ta Rae for always borrowing money to buy the novel, but now Mark is indifferent to anything. He also rarely spoke to Ta Rae. That's not the Mark I want.

Why did God make him a stranger to me when he knew that I could never forget him?

The rain is starting to stop. The lightning refused to hit again. The people who were sheltering here began to leave after sipping a glass of warm tea that had been ordered earlier.

“Ah, Yoon Kyo-ah!” The look on Mark's face that had been restless and agitated changed instantly. The dimples on his cheeks are visible to me. Left and right.

So sweet. Really am.

The woman with slightly curly hair ran small towards Mark. He gave a sweet smile while looking at Mark, then hugged him.

Yep. They hugged me right in front of me. I'm pretty sure that's the woman who's changed Mark's whole life. My confidence grew when the woman asked Mark if he had brought another book. Maybe the woman doesn't like books.

“You know? My dad bought us a fancy house for later. You can stay there with your sister!” the woman was sumringah.

For us?

“For us and our children later, ‘kan? For the matter of moving, it is my brother who will give the decision.” Mark smiled broadly. His white and neat rows of teeth were clearly visible and formed a corner of a smile. Makes it look so charming.

Our kid?

I saw the two of them chatting and joking while sipping warm tea. It also looks like Mark who occasionally feeds ramen to the slender woman.

Right now, Mark looks very happy. God granted my prayers, but not completely. Supposedly, Mark was happy with me and he was happy with his old attitude.

“Mark really loves that woman. Their relationship is serious too. The woman can definitely make Mark happy,” I said annoyed and seemed to want to shout loudly.

Although I know that no one can hear the voice of a book that loves its owner.
