JUST A CRASH - BUTTERFLY CROSSING

JUST A CRASH - BUTTERFLY CROSSING
4. Transitions

The next morning, the rain subsided but the weather was still cloudy. The activity still cannot continue because disaster management is being launched at some point and tonight it is back to rain, high possibility. In the morning usually Orange eat snack bar if lazy to cook. Even on weekdays, if he doesn't have time for breakfast, he always eats it. But since someone had already given the deposit, even if the orange did not want to eat, he had to keep cooking.

Orange delivered the morning meal to the next door. With a dark atmosphere as it has been, the dining box was received.

The two seemed to agree and not at all thought of for example: eating together.

Orange does not expect thanks. He is familiar with the nature of his neighbors. But saying hello is not, isn't this outrageous?

Orange still guesses whether Shuji is like that person, or if he has a grudge against Orange...

"He's not going to throw away his food, is he?" Orange suddenly worried. Jingga hasn't lived here long. The only local food he could make was rice. The food here tastes too savory with a blend that makes his brain dizzy. Every time he cooks, Orange always makes a menu from his hometown.

For breakfast that morning, Orange makes a menu that is quite friendly with all tastes. Corn parchment, mushroom oseng, rice, and fried ati that he had marinated the night before. For breakfast, the menu was rather heavy. But since Shuji is discharged from the clinic and needs nutrition, the orange taste is not a problem.

The afternoon, Orange makes a little light; rice, vegetable soup with a side of tempeh and fried beans. For the fruit Orange just add cherry tomatoes.

It was a pity that he could not divide the luxurious one because from the beginning he was shopping for his own meal.

'I should have just asked for her container, so I don't need to be confused looking for the container.' Orange complained after seeing his empty cupboard.

In his place there are only two boxes of food was rotated to go to work.

"For dinner can use the bowl only, later stay in plastic wrap.."

Standing in front of the door, Jingga pressed the bell and waited for a few minutes before Shuji came out. Orange noticed Shuji's swollen and bruised face that seemed to not improve at all.

Wonder. Is the medicine not used? Maybe the recovery process is slow?

"You.." But before he asked a question, the box in his hand was taken and the door was closed instantly.

Orange: .....

The orange rounded its resolve and pressed the bell once again.

Shuji is definitely inside. But even though Jingga pressed the bell again, the door remained unmoved.

"Why this guy?!" The orange finally turned back to his apartment, starting to get emotional. If he follows the style in his hometown, the door he has kicked.

"Patience, Orange." He took a deep breath for the next time.

"Oh, the lunchbox..," Orange wailed. 'Anyway, tonight he has to manage to get his containers back.

***

Shuji brought in his lunch box, stepped over the broken furniture debris and splattered onto the dining table he had earlier sliding beside the window. Some unpleasant smells began to emerge from the direction of the kitchen sourced from expired food. Although Shuji can live in a messy and dirty place, he cannot live with invisible microorganisms. So now the smell of pesticides and old food is mixed in the kitchen, spreading throughout the room.

But that didn't stop him from eating. He opened the box slowly. Even the lid he put down without a sound as if the slightest blister was unacceptable. Shuji felt some of his anxiety disappear.

On the table, he sat with her the breakfast box he had washed, the wallet, and the ticket he thought had fallen. Apparently, he had been tucking the ticket in his wallet all along. It's funny to think back.

Of all the chaotic places in his apartment, only his dining area became his peace zone. Shuji himself did not notice it.

Perhaps the passion he had been looking for was food? If not, why is it so delicious?

Until it made him stop thinking about dying for a while.

'Perhaps because this food came from someone's hands?' Usually he will eat his own food or buy it at the minimarket.

'Maybe my passion is in foreign food'. Shuji muttering. Because the menu he had eaten all day made him a little happy.

'Tomorrow, try to wait another day.' Shuji said inwardly. If he still feels the same way, he might try to jump into this field.

the evening

Orange goes to deliver dinner. Before he reached the bell, the door was already swung open.

Without further ado, the feeding container in the hands of the Orange was seized. Too bad Orange is less slippery to hold it.

The usual horrifying impression Shuji emits begins to feel familiar to the Orang-orange. Therefore, looking at her swollen face and her straight gaze was rather unique, ahem. Under normal circumstances, the orange would laugh. But they're not that close to joking around....

An orange look at Shuji's 'normal' appearance is just the time of meeting at the station. The rest, he only passed each other once in a while, exactly with the hairstyle covering his face, back bent, and the way he walked without hope. It can be said that for a long time, signs of depression were seen in Shuji.

"That's... My former lunchbox, would I take it?" orange said before the man in front of him could close the door.

"....." Shuji was silent for a long time.

As Jingga thought Shuji would not reply, she heard the man say in a gargling voice, "A cheap container is asked for?"

Then the door closed with a 'bam', shocking Orange.

Orange: ??

'What? Where's fault?'

Orange lowered his eyebrows between confused and tired. Jingga tried to repeat the incident, maybe something made Shuji offended from his words?

Before Jingga could find where her fault was (which in fact did not exist), the door reopened and Shuji handed her fifty thousand new yen before disappearing as fast as the wind behind the door.

Staring at the silent door, Jingga thought maybe Shuji was just an illusion. But the money in his hands is clearly real.

"...."

The orange returned to his room holding fifty thousand yen in an inexhaustible manner.

'Why does he keep giving away his money?' Orange was silent for a moment on the question.

Not that Orange does not accept. But this is wrong.

Next time, Orange will try to discuss more carefully. Perhaps Shuji did not understand and reacted that way because their language was lacking, hahaha....

"....." Orange took a deep breath and put the new money she received into the envelope, along with her twin yesterday. From the very beginning, Orange had no intention of accepting this money. He plans to return it at the right time. Who knows Shuji will regret it after coming to his senses. However, this is not a small amount. People are often impulsive.

*******

Day three.

[Oni Kichigai, a 24-year-old man, was arrested for 'inciting' people to commit suicide via social media. The police manage to thwart the action and arrest O-Oni.. Kichigai in his apartment when he was about to run a service 'kill him' on one of those who was framed for coming.... Here is the evidence found at the scene.].

[According to local prosecutors, the psychiatric disorder suffered by the perpetrator did not make him get relief for his actions in this case.].

"Why so much horrible news like this." Orange turns off the television and sets the dining container on the table, preparing to deliver the meal.

That afternoon Jingga waited at the door of Shuji's apartment as usual.

Since last conflict—right, conflict, Shuji avoids Orange. Now every orange is delivering food, only his hands appear.

And until now, Jingga has not had a discussion about the lunchbox anymore...

Cklek.

Orange almost tilted her head to peek at the person behind the door, whether it was just her feelings or it seemed so, Orange felt Shuji's face slightly red. Maybe the effect of swelling...?

"You... are you okay?"

Hearing that question Shuji raised his eyelids lazily. His mouth was tightly clenched and he only let out a deheman in return while receiving his lunch.

"Sore throat?" ask Orange again while pointing at his own throat.

The one asked did not want to answer anymore because he thought that if he replied, this conversation would grow longer. Shuji ignored the orange and prepared to go back in.

"Wait!"

The dining box in Shuji's hand is held down by an orange. Shuji's eyes were round, his gaze turned away from the feeding container and then onto the Orange in turn. His face showed obvious annoyance. But even under these circumstances, Shuji remained silent.

Both pull. With that big gesture, Shuji walked out from behind the door.

"Feel this must not be for the sore throat" said Jingga finally, intending to take back his cooking.

But Shuji's two hands, which looked slender and powerless, clutched the container firmly and refused to let go.

"Detach, no." said Orange firmly. If this neighbor fainted again how? And the cause is the cuisine menu, wow, can runyam. Added this man in his home alone. If you faint or choke because of panic, there will be no one to help. Orange can be accused of murder.

He heard from his friend, a foreign exchange student went to the hospital for eating fried food! The stomachs of these people are really fragile. The orange does not dare.

But Shuji shook his head, refusing.

"Depart, Shuji." Orang-ga finally mentioned Shuji's name for the first time. For a split second Shuji was shocked to hear his name mentioned, that's when Orange managed to take back the food container.

"I don't have a sore throat" Shuji said at last, seeing his lunch being taken away. He had no sore throat, only his voice was a bit nasal from the fever.

Hearing Shuji's voice and glare that seemed clear, Orange finally melted a little. But he still did not let go of his vigilance, and kept the feeding container in his hands away. Because he still remembered who had smirked this morning at breakfast and tricked him.

"You sick?"

"...Maybe."

"Maybe? Check the thermometer, you.." You live alone, why can't you do something basic like that? Orange wondered how the person in front of him had lived alone all this time.

Shuji remembers she had a P3K box in her house, but she doesn't know where it is now. The medicine he had also thrown away....

Shuji. "I'm not a sore throat. Give."

"You sure?"

"...."

"You remember passing out the day after yesterday at my house, right?" The orange sighed and thought for a while before deciding. "Let me make porridge for you."

"No!" Shuji answered half-creaming, Orange to aghast. How can porridge taste the same as regular cooking?

Orange mouth closed. Shuji turned his eyes in any direction. Realize that he's been missing.

"... You don't have to cook anymore. I'm hungry now." Like finding a pedestal, Shuji started his nonsense, "If it's delayed, I can maag. I really need to eat now."

"You've eaten, but I'm watching." Orang-orange is thought about something, and adds. "In your apartment." The orange will only keep an eye on her until Shuji finishes eating, after which she goes home.

Shuji: ??

"You crazy huh?" Shuji who forgot about his lunch immediately put on an aggressive pose. "What am I watching for."

The orange closed its eyes and took a breath to calm itself.

"You eat my food in times of illness, where I might be able to calm down. If you're mat—fainted because of a sudden choking, for example, what should I do?"

"I'll buy this food. Just like I bought a meal at the minimarket. If I die from eating that food, people won't blame the place. Unless it's weird at the food." That's the longest sentence Shuji ever said. Finished saying so, Shuji folded both his hands on his chest.

The mouth of the orange gaped in disbelief. The swollen face is not making people pity but it makes people want to hit more.

"You. don't go too far." Orange is not good at arguing especially with foreign languages. Despite his annoyance, Orange kept saying carefully.

".... What you said is impossible." The orange finally gave up on arguing. 'This man is sick, ' muttered an orange to himself.

"But I wouldn't do that. If I was that kind of person, how could you possibly have me cook for you, right?" People like Shuji who have a trust issue, will be more vigilant in receiving anything from others.

Shuji snorted and chipped.

"....." 'Patience, Orange. You've been holding on for days. You can do it... Uhhh! I can't wait!'

The two were trapped in a deadlock until Orange surrendered.

"Here you go, I will not cook for you anymore" said Orange resignedly. His face bowed and his eyebrows fell, looking sad.

That speech made Shuji dumbfounded.

"I don't want to take any chances, and your money is okay. On these two days, consider it an exchange between neighbors. You can share some food with me next time. I'll take the money first." He turned around without waiting for a response from Shuji.

Orange hand moves holding the door handle of his apartment.

"Wait."

The orange movement stopped, looking forward to the continued words.

"I can't let you watch me eat" Shuji said softly.

Hearing that, Orange could not help but be irritated. "I know, eat it I give you your money back. Deal we—,"

"It's not so." Shuji.

"What does it mean?" tanya Orange subconsciously raised her voice. It's just that, the high pitch of Orange doesn't sound like an angry person, more like sulking.

But he realized he had lost control of his emotions. The orange immediately controls his tone. "Say."

"...." - ".Shuji looked at the old orange as if considering something difficult. "...My apartment." after saying so he didn't continue.

Orange certainly does not understand.

'Is he going to keep this up? Half-talk, forcing me to be a detective.' Orange wants to cry.

Thinking of his interactions these few days, honestly Orange felt a little pleased. He's been alone all along. Although Shuji is a bit eccentric, but thinks there are others waiting for his cooking, making Jingga prepare each menu enthusiastically.

"... Hey." Shuji calls again, making sure that Jingga listens to the reason (which is not clear).

"All right." Orange way back and stand in front of Shuji.

Shuji's expression deserves to be taken. With a colorful and bruised face, his forehead wrinkled; choosing to endure or give up.

Seeing him, Orange wanted to laugh and his anger disappeared instantly.

Shuji finally pulled over.

Orange opened the apartment door wide and saw a mess he never imagined.

Whatisit? Tv's? Why does the box on the wall show abstract fragments? Could this be part of art?

There was no need to research what items were lying carelessly on the floor.

"...You're..." Orange turned to Shuji and asked hesitantly. "Again clean?"

Shane: ....

"I told you I can't.." Shuji initially did not want anyone to know about this situation. But since this is just the woman next door and their condition, so yes.

Orange looked back at the entire room without waiting for a reply. A mixed feeling of pity, sadness, sadness, and confusion filled the heart of Orange.

nguunggs...

A fly passed in the middle, making the orange sure that this was not chaos because it was cleaning. At that moment, an unpleasant aroma was smelled from the kitchen. Orange does not need to guess what is there.

"......Let's. I think first." Oranges turn around and prepare to return to his apartment.

"Eat my lunch?"

"Take, take. I love it with the box."

"Huh, I should've paid."

"Yes, yeah, yeah." The orange nodded quickly.

"Don't forget my dinner."

The orange did not answer and immediately closed the door of his apartment as soon as he went inside. He who had calmed down just now started shaking his hands. Recalling the scene inside Shuji's apartment just now, Jingga begins to realize, that dealing with a depressed person, is not as easy as it seems. What makes Orange afraid is a pile of garbage in the middle of the room with sharp tools.

Moreover, he had just seen the news...

"Uuuu.." and all this time he was dealing with that person, acting so relaxed. The orange sat at the door for a long time. After wiping away the tears and calming down, only then did Orange rethink her attitude for these few days.

"......" could it be that his attitude made Shuji incompetent? Maybe that's what makes Shuji so thin and cold?

Orange closed his eyes and thought to withdraw all his actions....

'It's too late, he already knows me, and I even became his cook.' muttered Orange.

'You can't be like this, Orange. Remember everything you've done. For the things that you consider positive, do not judge it in vain let alone bring bad luck.'

God has been guarding the orange all this time. Even faced with such a person, he was fine.

Since the beginning of Orange instead of looking for danger, he only intended to help.

'...this is true, right?'

Confused orange.

That night Orange cooked a two-course dinner like before but she did not immediately move to deliver the food. Honestly, he was still a little scared. And he still did not expect. His and Shuji's apartments were the same type, but their contents were very different, like heaven and earth.

They are not naturally broken, but because they are destroyed. If it wasn't Shuji, who else would have done it?

Should the orange continue this interaction?

"..Ah, I don't want to do it." Orange whispered softly, sticking his forehead against the wall while venting.

But his unwillingness does not mean the universe wills.

Ding dong~'s

"...." this time, Orange didn't have to guess who hit the bell of his apartment. Orange walked to the door, stopping for a moment, he looked at the umbrella vase where his baseball bat was stored.

*******

Shuji waited a few minutes until the door opened. Her neighbor still looks stupid like this afternoon.

"I was just about to drop off." that statement sounded like a lie. Can not be said to be a lie as well., just that Orange was still considering.

Shuji didn't bother to find out the truth. He peeked at the contents of the house of Orange from a visible angle. Before turning to the orange hand hidden behind the door, as if estimating something.

"Not bring a baseball bat anymore?" shuji asked lightly.

"....." Orange was surprised but immediately controlled his face. "I was shocked that time because you were knocking at night."

"What about now?"

"Now I know you're knocking, so I'm not carrying my baseball bat."

"Huh." Shuji decided to believe half his words. "Don't you say you're watching me?"

'If only I could take back my words.' Orange crying in the heart.

The woman in front of him might be unconscious, her every expression was like a book that was open to Shuji.

"Your apartment can't..." Orange whispers softly.

"But here, can you?" shuji sela.

"... Uh uh?" a few seconds later the orange expression instantly changed full of rejection. "But you're a man."

"Keep."

"I'm a girl."

"And?"

Orange opens its mouth.

"You like me?" chirping Shuji suddenly.

Before Jingga could set her facial expression, Shuji had already answered the question himself.

"No, right? Because we don't have such feelings, it's impossible that anything will happen. Just like humans and dogs. In a room together, interweaving something was impossible. The picture is similar to you and me."

Shuji's words were a little quick and his arrangement was a bit difficult for Jingga to understand. But why did he hear the word 'inu'? From his face, Orange was sure this person in front of him was mocking... But he can't prove it!

"You... You just said to me?"

"No?" Shuji did not confess. He tilted his head. "I'm just saying that such an interaction is impossible between us. Because.you're not my type at all." this time Shuji slowed down the sentence.

"Although so—,"

From far away we heard footsteps. Orange and Shuji automatically turned their heads towards the sound. On this floor, there were eight rooms in total, and only three were filled. Other than Jingga and Shuji, there was one person living on this floor. Only when using the elevator can they meet.

"You quickly go back to your room, I'll drop off the food later" said Jingga quickly.

Hearing that, Shuji raised next to his eyebrows. "You don't want to be seen with me?"

"It's not so!" **a! Orange finally understood why the people and residents of this building looked at him pity, sometimes some are away. It happened after Jingga defended 'Shuji' which was still a NET; and stamped as a suspicious person.

In fact, everyone in the building knows what kind of person Shuji is because Shuji is not the first, only Orange sees everything from the positive side!

"I want to eat" said Shuji defiantly.

"You!!" finally, Jingga pulled Shuji in and closed the door before the other occupants could see.
