It Turns out There's Love

It Turns out There's Love
63 - MORE QUIET

After Fariz waited for a few minutes, Zafira's sobs were heard to have begun to subside. But his face still remained bowed lethargic staring up at the lap. To hold his head up was too heavy for him.

Fariz very carefully returned a voice. He must be careful to invite the girl to talk, do not let the sentence he said make the girl's mood heated up again.

"I'll go to the kitchen for a second, get you some water. Bi Senah must have forgotten to deliver drinking water for us," Fariz said after a few minutes of silence and saw that Zafira's emotions had stabilized. There was no answer from Zafira, but his ears heard Fariz's words.

Fariz walked out of the room. Before long, he had already gone back into the room and locked the door. In his hand was two glasses of water. One for Zafira, one for her. He placed a glass for her on a small table beside the bed and gave another glass to the girl who was still crying.

"Drink first, let your throat be fresher," Fariz offered a glass to Zafira.

Zafira who had just bowed weakly, looked up at the man standing in front of her. His eyes were still in tears, glancing at the glass in Fariz's hand. Unconsciously, his heart became filled to the attention of Fariz, which until this moment there was no change at all. Even though she had just scolded and even committed acts of violence on her best friend and husband, but Fariz was not the slightest bit offended let alone angry.

From childhood, adolescence, adulthood, to the present day in their first night one room of being a lawful husband and wife, there was not the slightest change in the way the man cared for and treated him. He can always calm down and make himself feel comfortable being around him. Not only that, Fariz also always tried to give in whenever there was a small debate going on between the two. And his current treatment made Zafira's heart sober and became guilty of beating her dozens of times with punches that could not be categorized as slow.

"Let's drink, let's feel better" Fariz said again, continuing to look lovingly at his wife. No man in the world could be like Fariz, a husband who was so sincere and caring for Zafira. Loves Zafira deeply with all of her body without thinking about her own feelings which are often hurt by the girl she loves so much.

Zafira nodded slowly following Fariz's orders while rubbing using the back of her hand, the teardrops still on her cheeks.

"Thank you," he said slowly, with a heart condition that seemed to start calmer.

Zafira took the glass from Fariz's hand and drank the water in it until it was almost gone. His throat was much fresher now.

It turned out that the attention and gentle attitude given by Fariz was able to make his mood much calmer. And her throat was cold and cold with the water her husband gave her. It would not be wrong if Zafira always felt comfortable being Fariz's friend for decades, because the man never left him in any situation. Always giving attention and always able to make it out of all the bad situations that hit him. Not just tonight but in the days and years before, she was always treated like a queen by her best friend.

Actually deep in the heart, Zafira can feel the sincerity and struggle Fariz to get the heart and make it happy. But Zafira is still unaware of her feelings for Fariz. Because all this time, his time and heart have been handed over entirely to Ronald, making him prioritize the lover and always consider Fariz no more than a friend. Though the truth is, there has long been something special in his heart for Fariz, not just a friend like he thought so far. But unfortunately, until this moment Zafira has not understood about the feelings that grow in his heart and has not fully realized how much a Fariz means in his life.

After Zafira almost finished the contents in the glass, Fariz took the glass from his wife's hand and placed it on a small table beside the bed.

Now the girl's heart became calmer accepting Fariz's gentle treatment. The heart that had been shrouded in disappointment, sadness, anger, over the endless events she experienced today, was now slightly eroded. Although all those flavors could not possibly be lost in the blink of an eye. But at least, it was enough to make the burden on his chest become lighter. The air also feels more freely into the respiratory tract, making it able to breathe more calmly.

Zafira, who was still sitting on the edge of the bed, with a still remaining sound of sobbing, looked up, looking at Fariz who was still standing not far from where he was sitting. He immediately got up from sitting and stepped towards the husband who was still silently sculpting. She stood staring for a moment at her husband's face then slowly approached him.

"Fariz..," call Zafira suddenly wrapped both hands, embracing her husband's body.

Whether the wind was what brought the girl suddenly to be gentle with Fariz, put a hug on the man's body without asking permission first. Maybe because she needed a chest to lean on, needed a place to lighten the burden that was being carried, so she chose her husband's chest to be a place to lean and cry.

Fariz was astonished by Zafira's scolding, now hugging him without any prior notice. Fariz just silently gasped, confused about what to do? His heart started acting strange. Ticking fast doesn't know the time. As much as possible, the man tried to calm his feelings. Focus on Zafira. Yes, you have to focus on the crying and sad girl. He tried to encourage himself not to get carried away by the feeling that made his heart beat harder.

"I'm tired Fariz. I was so tired all day. I need you to lean on," Zafira cried even harder. He didn't care that Fariz would think anything of him. She also did not feel ashamed to have to spill all the cries and burdens in front of the friend who had become her husband.

Fariz nodded. One hand raised. A little emboldened he rubbed slowly on Zafira's back.

"Cry to make your heart calmer. Cry for all your burdens a little less" Fariz said, wiping his wife's back, trying to calm her heart, although actually his heart was not calm because he was nervous about having to fight skin and touch this intimate with the girl who had been an opium for him.

"I'm sorry, I never listen to what you say. Never believed in all your words. Now I just realized, that everything you said was true. Ronald is not a good man. He is cunning and clever hiding his true nature. I'm sorry I didn't believe your words eight years ago in Plaza Indonesia. Had I believed your description back then, it would have been nothing like this" Zafira's voice sounded softly fused with sobbing.

"Yes it's okay. No need to apologize. It's all over, "now Fariz's hand moved up, touched the girl's head and stroked her hair.

"Thank you," Zafira tightened her embrace.

Fariz was trembling. The nervousness is getting in control of him. He wanted to immediately let go of the embrace but the wife still seemed to want to linger inside his chest. Forcing him to undo the intention to immediately let go of the embrace. Sometimes he felt annoyed with himself, why always feel trembling whenever he came into contact with the girl.

After a few minutes and feeling that her heart had calmed down, the girl let go of her embrace. His eyes looked puffy, making Fariz reflexively stretch out a hand rubbing Zafira's eyelids that still left a trace of tears. Swiping it from the right eye, moving it to the left eye.

"Don't cry anymore. I will always be there to be your friend" said the husband finishing his rubbing on both eyelids and lastly rubbing it against the cheeks, draining the tears that were still left on the white face.

Zafira nodded slowly without making a sound. Then walk to the side of the bed and sit there.

"I'm tired, I want to sleep" he said slowly as he inched up to the bed, laying on the bed, tilted to the right side, and leaning to the right side, facing Fariz who was still standing in his place.

Maybe so tired of heart, tired of mind because of the great tragedy of today, which is quite draining of his tears and emotions, plus the eyes that continue to cry, he said, making Zafira's body feel lost a lot of energy and the girl immediately closed her eyes.

Without waiting for a long time, he fell asleep and forgot his habit of wearing a blanket before going to bed. Though every night the girl had a habit of covering her body first before closing her eyes, to avoid the cold air from the AC spray. And he never took off his blanket until he woke up from sleep. But tonight, she forgot the habit and also forgot one thing, if she has a husband now, no longer a girl who used to sleep alone on a soft mattress.
