Velan stirred the iced coffee in his glass, he waited patiently while listening to soft music in one of the coffee shops that seemed quiet. He set his gaze out the big window, staring at the frenzy of vehicles passing by in front of the coffee shop.
Doni stepped into the coffee shop, and he immediately approached a woman sitting filling an empty table right next to a large window.
"'I'm sorry I arrived late, because there was still work to be done, Miss Velan," said Doni as she sat quietly in her chair.
Doni observed the flat expression of the woman before him. It's been over a month since the woman decided to leave Mr. Voren's apartment. The woman was already steadfast to part from Mr. Voren. In accordance with the agreement of both parties.
"How are you, Miss?" ask Doni.
"What do you think of your vision?" Velan asked back.
"You look fine" replied Doni.
Velan sipped his coffee ice, his eyes fixed on the envelope that Doni was currently removing from inside the man's briefcase.
Doni felt heavy when removing the envelope, but this has become his task.
"Miss Velan, here's your divorce papers and Mr. Voren's," Doni said.
Velan took the envelope and checked the contents. There is a divorce certificate and a white envelope. The white envelope contained a blank check signed by Voren.
"Sir Doni, what does this blank check mean?" ask Velan.
"Mr Voren is asking you to fill out your own nominal amount you want as a form of divorce compensation, Miss," replied Doni.
"What?!" Velan.
Doni looked straight at the woman who was currently putting an annoyed expression towards him.
"It's Mr. Voren's decision, miss," replied Doni.
"'No! I can't take it!" reject Velan.
"Miss Velan, you must accept it as a form of compensation based on your divorce papers" Doni said.
"If it is referring to the previous agreement, the nominal stated should be in accordance with the agreement!" velan hatch.
"Miss Velan, Mr. Voren changed the nominal amount of the compensation fund for you" Doni said.
"What?! Why would he do that?" ask Velan.
"Because to Mr. Voren, you are so precious" replied Doni.
"Then this," Doni thrust another envelope towards Velan.
"This is Mr. Voren's apartment ownership letter that has been reversed into your name, this is the car key along with the letters on your behalf, also letters from one shophouse complex in the city center that belongs to you, to develop your business, Miss Velan," said Doni explained.
Velan was flabbergasted to hear Doni's explanation. Was it not wrong that the man gave such an excessive amount of material to Velan?
"Sir Doni, I think this is too much! I can't take it!" sahut Velan's.
"Why aren't you willing to accept Lord Voren's generosity?" ask Doni.
Velan sipped back his iced coffee before answering a question from Doni.
"I can't accept it because I feel I don't deserve it! I don't want to be as impressed as the man who robbed her ex-husband" Velan replied.
"Miss Velan, why do you insist on asking for a divorce? Does this have anything to do with Mr Daren?" ask Doni.
"Sir Doni, really, this decision of mine has absolutely nothing to do with Daren!" velan said firmly.
Velan looked skeptically at Doni.
"Sir Doni, you don't pretend to forget! You came to see me with your divorce papers and post-divorce papers! I'm just being sporty by fulfilling that agreement!" answer Velan.
"But Miss, your divorce actually shows that you and Mr. Daren do have a relationship!" said Doni.
"Huh! Why is everyone so excited about my relationship with Daren? You have no problem with the relationship between Voren and Soraya!" sergeant Velan.
"Miss Velan, no one is questioning the relationship between Mr. Voren and Soraya because they don't have a romantic relationship like you think!" said Doni.
"Mr Voren does love and want Soraya, but he has to clap one hand!" continued Doni.
Doni looked at Miss Velan who was seen putting on a flat expression while sipping on her iced coffee.
"Miss Velan, I'm really sorry. Had it been, at that time I had been more assertive to Mr. Voren, this matter would not have happened" Doni said.
"Sir Doni, really don't blame yourself! After all, it has passed and still will not affect the decisions I have made!" velan.
"Miss Velan, why don't you give Mr. Voren a chance to restart your relationship to save your marriage?" ask Doni.
Velan churning his coffee ice with his straw, Doni was still watching the truly extraordinarily stubborn woman. Really exactly the same as Mr. Voren.
"Sir Doni, if I give Voren a chance to save our marriage, it means I give him another chance to hurt me right?" velan.
"Miss Velan, what do you mean?" ask Doni.
Velan commented a bitter smile towards Doni. I don't know if this guy pretends to be stupid, pretends not to know, or if he's heartless.
"Voren initially insisted on divorcing me for Soraya's sake, but now he wants to come back just because Soraya is not by his side. Logically, that means Voren just makes me a filler emptiness, escape, or just an outlet?!"
"Voren only loves Soraya, the woman he's loved for a long time, even if you say that Voren only claps one hand, it still doesn't change the fact that Voren only loves that woman! If I am present only as a filler of emptiness, escape, and an outlet given happiness, it means that the happiness I get is only pseudo happiness!" velan.
"When Soraya returns one day, does that mean I have to give up my happiness to Soraya voluntarily?"
Doni was speechless to hear the scorn from Miss Velan. Well, this isn't the first time he's heard a sneer from that woman.
"Indeed, who can guarantee that Voren will choose me over Soraya? It was clear that the man would still choose the Soraya he loved over me!"
"You will definitely refuse under the pretext that you do not want to interfere in the personal affairs of your superiors when I ask you to side with me! No one will side with me if it has already dealt with Soraya!"
If guilt can be measured with a temperature thermometer, Doni's current guilt could actually make the digital thermometer an error.
"You don't just think about Voren's reputation, you should also consider how I feel! I am a man with a heart and feelings!" velan.
"Well Miss, I understand," said Doni. "But Miss, you must receive the compensation given by Mr. Voren! He really wants you to live well and have enough!" continued Doni.
"Sir Doni, the compensation I should have received was the nominal stated on the divorce agreement!" velan said firmly.
"All must return in accordance with the divorce papers you have given me!"
Doni reviewed his smile as he silently cast a glance towards the person who had previously stolen his hearing from the other side of the table. The man in the black hat lowered his head so that no one would recognize him but Doni.
