Velan felt uncomfortable because at this moment all eyes were on him.

Is Velan's appearance really too much just to attend a family dinner?

But the thing is, this dinner is not just any dinner. And sure enough, Velan could see everyone sitting behind the dining table looking luxurious and stunning.

Velan's eyes were immediately fixed on the figure of Daren sitting beside Darla. Darla raised a cynical gaze towards Velan. Velan could still vividly recall how the middle-aged woman made strange accusations after flushing Velan with a cup of tea.

Velan can't imagine what it would be like if she were really dating Daren seriously, not knowing what Daren's mother would do to her. Having a mother-in-law like Darla must be a bitch. 

Voren felt his body temperature rise quite drastically. The dress that Velan was wearing completely exposed the woman's shoulders. Voren's mind became a wild adventurer. I don't know why Voren so imagine when his lips go down the shoulder Velan while giving soft kisses of passion. 

Cih, sucks! How can my mind be that low?! He returned to cursing in the heart.

Voren got up from the chair, he immediately pulled the chair next to him.

"Please sit down, my wife," said Voren, inviting Velan to sit down.

Velan just kept quiet with the netra on full alert, he immediately sat on the chair. 

"Alright, I invite you all here to discuss the solution to the problem that is currently happening and causing friction that really endangers the integrity of our family" Alren said. 

"Yes, this problem would certainly not arise if only, Voren did not need to justify any means in order to get the position of president director! It's not wise when you have to use your wife to fool Daren, Voren!" Darla Tandas. 

"Tante Darla," Voren interrupted Darla's words. "I really don't accept such accusations!" 

"Voren, I really appreciate it more if you're being honest!" Sergey Darla. 

"Tante Darla, to be honest, I thought instead that it was Daren who deliberately set me up. Daren used my wife to bring me down! The affair Daren had with my wife, ultimately ruined my reputation and good name!" Voren makes his argument. 

"What?!" exclaim Darla restrained. 

"Daren is so eager to win this competition, using my wife to stage a coup against me! Getting the president's seat as well as snatching my wife! It's amazing, isn't it?! This is what you call an honest and fair competition, Daren?" continued Voren.

Velan was flabbergasted to hear Voren's argument. He was eager to say the truth but Daren seemed to forbid him from doing that from the man's eyes. 

"Enough!" sergeant Alren. 

Everyone immediately fell silent. 

"Didn't I tell you from the beginning to talk about this together in order to find a bright spot?! If everyone still blamed each other like this, there would be no solution!" alren said with his ice-cold voice. 

Alren cast his gaze towards Velan who instantly felt trepidation. 

"My daughter" said Alren. 

"I-yes, Master, uh, Father-in-law, uh Master," Velan stuttered. 

"Now I'm asking you, what's your solution to this?!" ask Alren. 

"Alren, my husband, why are you asking Velan?" Vega interrupted Alren's question. 

"In my view, the affair happened because of an opportunity and agreement between the two sides! Who is the tempting party and who is the tempted party is certainly not the external party's business because it is their internal affair! I asked the daughter-in-law, because I think she understands the situation better!" Alren expressed his thoughts. 

Velan felt that his father-in-law was a very critical-minded man. 

"My daughter-in-law, I know, it would be unethical if I were to directly judge the affair you had with Daren, because behind every affair, there must be a reason! It's just, I guess that's my business! But you must know, right, that every action you do will definitely cause consequences that you have to account for?" Alren continued his story. 

"I don't think it's necessary, Alren, obviously right, that your son and daughter-in-law really want to destroy Daren in order to get the position of president director?!" Sergey Darla.

"Oh my goodness, Darla, isn't Daren also desperate to get the position of President Director? Even wanted Voren's wife too!" Vega. 

"Oh, my goodness, don't talk senseless, Vega! Why would Daren want Voren's wife? Unless your son-in-law seduced Daren into setting him up!" darla denied Vega. 

"'Darla! Voren's been so perfect, what's my daughter-in-law still flirting with Daren, except for Daren flirting with my daughter-in-law!" Vega replied to Darla's rebuttal. 

Alren heaved a heavy sigh seeing his wife and cousin fighting each other like that. Mutual blame is clearly not Alren's main goal at the moment. 

"Sorry," Velan ventured to speak.

All eyes were on Velan. Velan certainly had to straighten out this problem before things got more complicated. Velan certainly can not continue to let Daren have to be exposed to the sap due to the lies that Velan made. The accusation of infidelity that befell Daren clearly damaged the image of Daren, it is only natural that Daren's mother had such a rampage to Velan.

 "I apologize in advance, but allow me to convey what I have to say," continued Velan.

"Before I wanted to clarify the allegations made for me" Velan tried to think about what he had to say.

Short, solid, and straight to the point!

"The first one regarding the accusation that Voren and I conspired to trap and bring Daren down, is simply not true! I don't even know what chairs or even couches are being fought over by them!" velan.

All eyes were still on Velan, a gaze that was so intimidating and made Velan's guts over. But Velan certainly had to continue.

"Then the second, about the relationship I built with Daren, is not an affair" continued Velan.

"Not infidelity? Then what do you call the relationship you built with Daren, my wife?" cut Voren.

Velan glanced at Voren who seemed to be commenting on a wry smile towards Velan.

"Well you call what kind of relationship you built with Soraya that you would rather divorce me, my husband?" ask Velan.

"Mother even supported Voren's decision to divorce me because Voren preferred his first love who had sort of taken the president's housing credit!" Velan directed his gaze at Vega.

Voren gasped at Velan's words, as did Vega. Daren commented on the smile that had been on his seat earlier. Renata and Renava were flabbergasted, they really could not believe what they heard.

"Really, me and Daren, don't have a relationship like the one that's been pointed out to us! Our relationship is purely for business!" added Velan.

Voren's eyes were rounded hearing Velan's confession. In Voren's eyes, it is clear that Velan is protecting Daren, until the woman uncovers the issue of their divorce plan. Voren really could only choose to remain silent before Velan went back to unpacking other issues that his family was not supposed to know about.

"Oh right too, Velan has a culinary business," said Renata and Renava simultaneously.

"So the issue of the affair between me and Daren is so untrue! I don't know who spread those irresponsible rumors!" Velan.

Velan obviously had to protect Daren because Velan had already promised the man when they made the deal.

"So, you and Daren are just business partners?" alren asked towards Velan.

"Right, because I couldn't possibly have established a business partnership with someone who would be my ex-husband! To maintain professionalism!" reply Diplomatic velan.

Checkmate, Voren.
