I'm the Princess of an Actor
Chapter 19: Enrolling in College

The time was 6pm, and I had just finished my Maghrib prayer when Mas Adam's motorbike was heard.

Immediately I went out and opened the door for her, welcoming her with a warm smile. Our last conversation may not have ended well, but I still don't want this fight to drag on.

"Mas." I grabbed her cold hand and kissed her slowly.

He didn't say anything, and just walked right through me.

"I've made the fried rice as special as Mas wanted, let's eat it. I missed lunch, so don't miss dinner."

He stopped walking while we were in the dining room, then turned to look at me.

"I didn't miss lunch, I had dinner earlier. So you don't have to bother doing it." His tone sounded so cold, especially from his formal language back.

"Why are you talking to me formally again? I don't like it."

"I like anything you don't like."

"As Angry?." I let out a breath. "Well if you're angry, I'm sorry. I'm not gonna force Mas to legalize our marriage. Whatever your decision, I will accept it. But please, don't act like a stranger."

Maybe it's too soon to conclude that this feeling is love, considering that we've only been together for two days. But clearly, the gentle treatment and also the attention he gave made me feel comfortable with him.

And looking at his attitude now, I feel hurt.

"We are strangers who happen to get married."

"No, we're not strangers. Mas himself told me, if I may not know Mas, but Mas knows me. And Mas wants to marry me too."

He looked down, I don't know what he was thinking he then looked up.

"Sorry."

After that, Mas Adam went straight into his room, without even looking at the bit of fried rice I had made for him.

I sighed, put the fried rice in the closet and then went into the room. As I was thinking about the possibility of what made Mas Adam refuse to legalize our marriage, the sound of a motor was heard. I looked straight out of the window, Mas Adam left on his bike.

.........

Just like the previous blind morning, Mas Adam just came home after a night out of nowhere. However, considering that she did not want to be caught by me, I chose to pretend not to see her and left the room after she entered the room.

When I finished as usual, I prepared a special breakfast. Considering yesterday he had not eaten fried rice at all, I thought about making it again this.

Adam came out of the room after the food was on the table.

"Sorry."

I sighed at the guilt on her face, making me understand that she had a strong reason behind her decision on our marriage.

"Mas said he'd enlist me in the campus here, what so?." asked me to deliberately divert the conversation, not wanting to make him feel guilty more deeply.

Moreover, I really want to go to college and continue my education.

"You don't mind if our marriage_"

"Mas' decision is already round, no, then I can't make it a square let alone a triangle." I smile.

Adam laughed softly, then looked at me. "Thank you for understanding."

"So how? Did Mas register me in the campus?." asked me again.

He's nodding. "Sure, we'll leave after breakfast. But Mas should know first, what major you want to take."

I thought for a moment, all this time I just thought about going to college without thinking about his major. I try to think about what I like the most.

"I want to go to a cooking major, what's that called?." I try to remember.

"Good words." said Mas Adam.

"Ah yes it is, I want to enter the department of Grooming."

.........

We just finished my college enrollment, and I can be in next week. It felt so happy, thinking if I could go to college after the various rejections I received from my mother.

I didn't expect, if I could finally continue my education after marrying a foreign man I had never known before.

"Thank you" I said as we exited the Dean's room.

Adam did not answer, and only smiled. I felt that the man was thinking something.

"Khanza?."

Me and Mas Adam turned their heads as a voice called my name.

"Young?."

The man walked quickly towards me and Mas Adam, until he was right in front of us. Huda glanced at Mas Adam while frowning in confusion.

"He who is Khansa?." asked Huda.

I was preparing to introduce them to each other, as Mas Adam extended his hand.

"Adam, Khansa's cousin."

I turned away shocked to hear Mas Adam introduce himself, but the next second I remembered that he didn't want outsiders to know our marriage.

Huda seemed to smile with relief, then returned Mas Adam's hand. "Huda, Khansa's friend."

Mas Adam glanced at me after their hands came off, making me feel uneasy.

"Khansa, why didn't I know you had a cousin?."

I smiled awkwardly as I had no answer to Huda's question, what could I say.

"I live out of town and rarely come here, it's only natural that Khansa doesn't tell her friends about me." Mas Adam lied.

"It is so it seems." Huda nodded. "Oh yes Khansa, what are you doing here?."

"I just enrolled in college, you yourself?."

"really? Then we're going to one campus because I'm also studying here." Huda showed me his backpack.

"Aren't you studying abroad?."

"Well that's it, but I moved here because my mother's health deteriorated after the accident that hit Vania. Although I have to go back and forth between cities, at least I can still go home compared to when I was studying abroad."

"Mother Jum's health is deteriorating?." However I still remember the good Bu Jum to me while I was working for him, and hearing it hurt worries me.

"Hem, now he's sickly, even though Vania's condition has improved."

"I'm sorry for his health, I hope that Bu Jum will get well soon."

"Hopefully, next time you come home, maybe you'll be better off after you meet you."

"Sure." I replied. Suddenly I remembered something. "What about the man who helped Vania back then?. Was he convicted of murdering anyone who wanted to rape Vania?."

"Yes, but he wasn't found until now."

"Astaghfiullah! It's a pity that he helped people by killing. If only he hadn't killed the perpetrator, he probably wouldn't have been wanted as a fugitive."

"True, I also felt quite guilty towards him. He's been helping Vania, but he needs to be a fugitive."

I was intending to reply to Huda's words when Mas Adam suddenly grabbed my hand, leaving me shocked. Somehow I felt that if he was agitated right now, even the look on his originally relaxed face turned tense.
