“Mang Ujang, Papa is at home?”
The Sun frowned when he saw a black car parked in his yard. He knows who the owner of the car is. It has been a long time, rather it has been almost six months his father did not go home even gave the news never.
“Yes, Neng Sunny. Mr. Tea again at home,” replied the driver.
Silent for a moment, the Sun rushed down from his car to immediately meet the father who he had not met for a long time. The sun is very happy. He misses Hadiwijaya— his birth father a lot.
If allowed, the Sun wants to hug the man.
“Papa. Papa!” the sun shouted, calling his papa.
A wide smile was engraved on the lips of the girl. His eyeballs sparkled brightly when he saw the figure of the adult man he knew standing before him.
The sun immediately ran and then scattered to hug the father who was very much missed.
“Papa to anywhere? I miss Papa,” said Matahari.
Hadi shook for a moment, not directly returning the embrace of the Sun. A second later, the grown man returned the embrace of the Sun. However, it happened only briefly, even less than five minutes Hadi had already ended it.
“How's Papa doing? Why has Papa never responded to messages from the Sun?”
The sun looked at Hadi with a highlight that still looked sparkling. He did not care even though the reply from Hadi was not as warm as he expected.
“Papa is fine. Sorry, Papa is busy so do not have time to ngabarin you,” said Hadi.
“Mas ...”
The Sun's Attention was diverted to the figure of the woman who had just called her papa. The two girls eyebrows frowned deeply, looking at the person behind Hadi from top to bottom.
“Who are you?” ask Sun.
The woman was silent, not answering the Sun's question. He even glanced at Hadi as if he was giving a code that only Hadi and the woman could understand.
“Oh, yes, Sunny. This is Indira. And Indira, this is the Sun of my son.”
The woman Hadi had just introduced smiled at the Sun and extended her hand. However, rather than replying to the hand, the Sun was silent while staring intently at Indira.
“Who is he, Pa?” ask Sun.
Not getting a response from the Sun, Indira immediately pulled back his hand from before the Sun.
Hadi glanced at Indira first before saying, “This is Papa's wife. Your new mom.”
The heart of the Sun suddenly felt tight. He looked at Hadi with an incredulous look.
Disappointed? Sure oes. The sun felt betrayed. Months of no meeting and no news, then suddenly his papa appears to introduce a new wife to him.
“Hai, Sun. It's good we finally got to meet now. Papa you often tell me about you so far,” said Indira.
He showed a big smile to the Sun while intending to approach her. But the sun is avoiding. The girl reflexively took a few steps back.
“It's not true, Pa?” lirih Sun's.
The girl hoped that none of this was true or just a nightmare that would end when she woke up.
“Papa can't get married again right? Papa couldn't have betrayed Mama, right?”
Hadi took a long breath. He had expected the Sun's response to be like this.
“Papa is married to Aunt Indira, Sunny. Sorry, Papa just told you now,” Hadi said.
“Oh, yes, you also have a younger sister. She's only been different one year with you.”
Reflexes both hands of the Sun clenched, clutching the end of her school skirt. His jaw hardened, his eyes turning cold.
“You don't worry, Aunt Indira is a good person. She can definitely be a mother figure for you to replace your Mama,” said Hadi so easily without thinking about the feeling of the Sun which is currently broken into pieces.
Again the Sun shook its head, still trying to deny the reality.
Indira smiled kindly to the Sun and approached him. Then without her consent the woman grabbed the hand of the Sun and grasped it gently.
“Allow Aunt to be close to you. Aunty will try to be a good mother for you,” she said.
The sun brushed off Indira's hand to surprise the woman.
“So all this time Papa is not busy working, but busy with Papa's new family, so? To the point that Papa forgot about me. Papa forgot that I also need attention from Papa,” Matahari told Hadi.
The sun was smiling obliquely, he turned his face for a moment then looked back at Hadi and Indira alternately with a sharp highlight.
“Until any time, no one can and should never replace Mama in this house!” firm Sun.
Hearing that made Indira feel offended. Clearly visible from the change in facial expression of the woman who became sour like holding back anger to the Sun.
“Jaga what you said, Sunny. Papa never taught you to be disrespectful!” tegur Hadi's.
The sun smiled back. “When did Papa ever educate the Sun, Pa?”
Hadi's eyes were perfectly rounded. His jaw hardened with a sharp gaze like a tiger preparing to pounce on the prey.
“Even Papa never had time for the Sun,” said the Sun again.
Plaque!
One hard slap landed perfectly right on the Sun's left cheek until it made the girl's head turn straight to the right.
The sun closed his eyes while cupping his cheeks feeling the pain and heat as well as the hum in his ears. Slowly a red viscous liquid came out from the corner of his torn lips.
“Mas!” indira Tegur. He was surprised to see Hadi slap the face of the Sun right in front of him.
Fearing something happened, Indira immediately approached the Sun. “Your sun is nothing, right?”
The sun did not answer. For a moment the girl was still trying to neutralize her pain. Then the Sun removed his hand from his cheek and looked at Indira with a hostile look.
It clearly looks like a red trace resembling the fingers on the Sun's left cheek and a purplish red color at the corner of his lips.
“Do not pretend well in front of me. You think I'm stupid? I know what kind of woman you are,” said the cynical Sun.
“Sun!” shout Hadi.
“What? Wh why? Not satisfied slap me, Pa?”
Without fear the Sun seems to challenge Hadi's emotions.
“Let's slap again, Pa. Slap!” The sun gave Hadi permission to slap him again.
It's already sick. Just a slap, the pain can still be Sun resistant and treated. However, the wound of betrayal from his papa was either able to heal or even getting worse.
Since childhood the Sun never got the attention of Hadi as a father in general to his own daughter. Even though the Sun whined, Hadi was indifferent and more concerned with work than playing with him. And that man has been more and more indifferent since his mother Sun died.
The sun rushed away from before Hadi who was still flinching in his place. I don't know what that guy is thinking right now. He did not stop staring at the Sun until the girl disappeared behind the door of his room.
