Not Cowardly

Mikael stared at the food before him with no taste. The whole family looks at him.

"What do you want to eat?" ask Ameena. Only Ameena happens to be sweet and attentive with her child. Others are like indifferent to the child.

Dita looked towards the bread. "I want to eat bread with chocolate jam."

"Bak, is there chocolate jam in the kitchen?" exclaim Mother Siti on her servant who is in the kitchen next to this dining room.

A young woman came along carrying the chocolate jam. "It's Mom" said the girl. She is the young maid in the house the adopted granddaughter of Toha's grandfather. He was taken by his grandfather from an orphanage. However, he was treated like any other servant only that he did not have to do all the work.

"Oh, Zahra, aren't you going into town?" ask Siti. He knew the boy had gone to town.
