14 Years ago, little Emy lived like no other child, attending school and playing with her peers. It can only be inside the house, and the furthest playing in the yard. Her father has always hidden her inside the house, since the failure of Emy's school entrance tests at several schools.

His father was always carried away with emotion every time he saw his only daughter. Not even hesitant, traces of rattan and belts adorn the small body of Emy. Emy's mother couldn't do much, because the father was very irritable and stubborn.

Every time Emy cries, not a hug she gets, but a curse and punishment are locked in a room without lights. Little Emy finally got used to hiding her sadness in a smile. His only goal was to avoid his father's anger any more. Emy also had to be strong, so that she did not see her mother crying or scolded for defending her. Emy's brother was just being indifferent, there was no sense of pity that he showed even with his expression, despite seeing the treatment of his father, to his only sister. Not only that her brother often even made Emy punished, only if her request was not obeyed.

Luck came to Emy, when a South Korean couple, who were members of a Taiwanese-Portuguese volunteer doctor came to her village. Dr. Sie Jee Jung and Dr. Han In Na, are a South Korean married couple based in Taiwan, who later joined the social mission. They don't have children. After staying a few days with the Emy family, they see injustice and treatment that makes their hearts cut.

With a unanimous heart, they are determined to adopt little Emy. Emy's father refused for various reasons. Dr. Sie pleaded with her to say her wife's inability to conceive, but did not make Emy's father moved. However, after dr. Sie gives Emy's father an envelope containing some money, they finally release Emy. And Dr.Sie changed Emy's original name to Emilia Yolanda to Emy Sie, followed her own brand and put Emy on the family card.

When Emy enters Seoul International Elementary School, Hannah Kang meets Emy and becomes a friend and even best friend. At that time, Hannah didn't know much about Emy, she and Emy just joked and played like friends, even though they were different ages.

When Hannah sees Emy unwilling to take off her trousers and sweater, Emy says she cannot swim, and is afraid of the deep water. Initially the sports teacher was angry with it. But, because Emy begged and looked scared in his eyes, finally the gym teacher allowed Emy not to swim. Hannah sees the moody Emy as all her friends scream and play with the water. Unwitting Emy, a young boy approaches Emy and drags her into the pool and pushes her away. Hannah screamed hysterically because she remembered what Emy had said, that she was afraid of deep water. Emy looks excited because she doesn't know how to swim. Fortunately, the teacher came to help Emy. Emy was then taken to the UKS room.

When the nurse there undress Emy, Hannah who took care of Emy and the nurse was shocked, seeing Emy's body covered in scars. The nurse finally called Dr.Sie and dr.Han. Principal, gym teacher and homeroom teacher Emy interrogate dr.Sie and dr.Han. Honestly, Dr. Sie says who Emy is. Seeing Emy with such apprehensive conditions, he becomes convinced to take Emy away to Korea.

Hannah, who hears Emy's story, cries and promises to be there for Emy and love her like her sister. Hannah is so happy with Emy and vice versa, even when Emy has to take acceleration classes, Ha Na still supports and always waits for Emy to come home together. Until they have to split school, because Emy succeeded in the acceleration exam.

At first, Hannah was crying because she didn't want to lose Emy. He had a hunger strike, so that his parents would let him come to America and go to school there. But whatever the power, Hannah must be willing to separate from Emy, because a month before the departure of Emy, her father died suddenly, because of a heart attack. Hannah releases Emy with a heavy heart, unwilling to separate from her best friend, but she must also accompany her mother, as she is the only family her mother has.

In America, when Emy was about 10 years old, lost track of his adoptive parents, after shopping in a mall, because he was busy chasing pigeons. Emy, who doesn't know her way home, meets a shabby, bearded and very smelly tramp. Emy looked at that person who seemed to be sick.

Regardless of the tramp's condition, Emy gives the only burger she has to the tramp. Emy was so happy to see the homeless man in his 40s, eating his gift. Emy also gave her bottle and was greeted with a smile and a thank you from the bum. Emy and the tramp told each other. From the talk, Emy knew that, the man was a former soldier. He became a vagabond, having quit the military due to the death of his younger brother who was the only family he had. He was lost because of hope. Emy looked at the man sadly. That guy was so nice to Emy, Emy was happy to tell her about that tramp named Evan. Until the sky starts to darken. Evan asks Emy where she lives, but only gets a somber head and face.

Evan immediately holds Emy and takes Emy to the police station. With the help of the police, Emy is finally able to meet Dr.Sie and Dr.Han who hug and cry because they think Emy disappeared or kidnapped. They were very grateful to Evan, but did not find him to thank.

A few months after the incident, Emy was walking from the library and was about to go home. As she passed a bridge, Emy saw someone who made her smile. Emy ran and hugged the man. The man was surprised to see Emy, he laughed and crouched down to see Emy.

" Daughter, are you lost again?" Ask the man

" Hahaha.I now know the streets here Uncle Evan, so I won't get lost. Hehehe...paman, why did the uncle of that time disappear? My mom and I were looking for uncle, but uncle wasn't there." Emy said innocently.
