Chapter 46 The Effort of Hani

With that confidence of his heart, Hani immediately headed to his parents' house. In his heart he prayed that God would help him and provide a way out of his problems.

This is where Hani is now. In front of his parents' house, which he had not visited for several weeks.

Hani inhaled a deep breath of air and let it out slowly. Then he said,

"Hani, why are you screaming?" mama Hani asked who opened the door.

Hani smiled broadly at the rows of his teeth. Then he said,

"Once my old mother opened the door."

Mama Hani pulled her daughter's hand into the house and said,

"Some of you really want to come back here at night. Want to grab something or stay here?" 

Hani's smile faded. He looked seriously at his mother and invited her to sit in the living room chair.

"Ma, Papa is there? Hani wanted to talk to Mama and Papa about something" Hani said as she sat next to her mother.

"There, Mom will call Papa first in the dining room. Hani ate already? Do you want to eat together," said Mama Hani while standing from her seat.

"Hani hasn't eaten Ma yet. Hani come to eat, deh," said Hani while moving from his seat.

Hani walks to the dining room with her mother. As usual, Hani struggled spoiled on her mother's arm.

"It turns out Hani really is Ma who came?" papa Hani said he welcomed Hani's arrival at the dinner table.

"Yes Pa. Papa's favorite child wants to eat with us now" replied Mama Hani while chuckling.

"Hani kangen with Mama and Papa. And also Hani came here because he wanted to talk to Mama and Papa about something," said Hani in response to the talk of his mother and father.

"alright. We better eat first. After that we just talk together," said papa Hani while continuing to eat.

After a while, the Hani family dinner was over. They change places in the family room to talk three, in accordance with the wishes of Hani who intends to talk to both parents.

Hani looks tense in front of both her parents. It was felt by his mother and father.

"What's up Hani? Is there anything important?" ask papa Hani to investigate.

"Ma, Pa, Hani wants to change beliefs," said Hani firmly while looking at his mother and father alternately.

"What-what?!" 

"What?!"

Mama and Papa Hani simultaneously said with a shocked expression hearing the desire of Hani's heart.

"Sorry, Pa, Ma. Hani had thought about it well and this was indeed purely from the desire of Hani's heart. So. Hani begs his blessing from Mama and Papa," said Hani while looking at his parents with a pleading gaze.

Papa and Mama Hani look at each other. They stared at each other as if talking and asked each other using their eyes.

"What really happened Hani? Why do you suddenly have such a wish?" asked Mama Hani with curiosity.

Hani sighed. His hand was clutching the end of his shirt. Then he said,

"Actually not suddenly Ma. It has been a long time since this has bothered Hani. And it took a long time for Hani to figure out Hani's true heart's desire."

"Then is this your decision?" asked Papa Hani stare firmly at his daughter.

"Yes Pa. Hani felt calmer and more comfortable than before. That feeling Hani had never felt in Hani's lifetime" Hani replied confidently.

Just sober papa Hani moved from her seat after hearing the answer from Hani. He walked out of the room feeling disappointed in his daughter.

Mama Hani also moved from her seat and followed her husband leaving Hani who was still in the place.

Mama Hani also felt what her husband felt. They both felt disappointed in their daughter.

Hani immediately moved from her seat. He held the hand of his father and mother, saying,

"Ma, Pa, please bless Hani's wish."

Papa Hani looked at Hani. It was clearly visible on his face that a sense of anger and disappointment was mixed into one. Then he said,

"What is underlying this desire of yours?" 

"It's the will of Hani Pa. Hani could not change it and ignored it. Hani feels more–"

"Go home. It's been a very late day. Don't leave the house too late" said papa Hani cutting off Hani's conversation.

Hani knew that her father and mother would not simply approve and allow her desire to change her religious beliefs. But he must try to convince both parents of his current choice.

"Pa, Ma, Hani please. Listen to Hani first. Many of Hani's travel stories to be convinced by Hani's current decision. Hani wants Mama and Papa to know" said Hani, who is still trying to convince her parents.

However, Papa Hani still could not accept it. He let go of Hani's hand and walked away from the place along with Mama Hani who followed behind him.

Hani immediately ran after his papa. He was not discouraged to seek the blessing of his parents.

Suddenly, Papa Hani's footsteps stopped when he found Hani sitting in front of him, saying,

"Hani beg Pa, Ma…."
