The sound of Marisa's crying became increasingly inaudible. Maybe Mom took him out. I leaned my back against the cold walls of the room. Sit with your knees still shaking. I was sad, but I couldn't cry, no tears came out of my eyes, and made my chest tight.
I don't know how long I've been silent until Bang Rafi's voice breaks my loneliness.
"Ning!" bang Rafi. He looked so tired, the tip of his collar was soaked with sweat.
Bang Rafi came up to me, rubbed my shoulders, and straightened my legs. "Where's Marisa?" tanyakanya.
I just glanced at him, then threw away my face. Bang Rafi carried my body and laid it on the bed. "You have a fever, Ning. Brother wants to call Mom Midwife first." Bang Rafi pulled out the device in her pants pocket and then spoke to someone.
"Your wife is crazy!" yelled the mother who just came in. Marisa was sleeping on her lap, maybe she was tired of crying. "She was going to kill your mother and child" she said, pointing her index finger at my face.
"That's right, Ning?" Bang Rafi looked at me asking for an explanation. Again, I just threw my face away.
I am sure, however hard I defend myself. My reason will remain broken by Mother's explanation, free. I'd rather be quiet, save my energy.
Mother carried a large pouch in her left hand, a white pouch bearing the logo of a minimarket with a red brush inside. I wanted to ask, but I'm sure this isn't the right time.
"Accoland ...."
"Waalaikumsalam Bu Isti, please come in." Bang Rafi invited the Midwife who used to handle my labor.
"I'm sorry to go straight into the house, the door is open" explained the Midwife I now know named Isti.
Isti smiled kindly, pulled out a tension meter and started checking my blood pressure. "80/60, ma'am very low," said Bu Midwife.
He took out a stethoscope, slipped it in his ear and began examining the chest to the abdomen. The stethoscope was cold touching my skin.
"Mom's belly bloated, nih. Likes late eating, huh?" I just pulled a little lip without answering.
Bu Midwife Isti took out some medicine from the bag she carried, put it on small plastics with adhesive. He wrote something on the plastic. Isti looked at me until the netra we met each other.
Marisa who was on Mom's lap wriggled, woke up and cried.
"Dede the baby, hungry it, Mom," said Bu Midwife.
"She doesn't want nyuin, Midwife," Mom said.
I just bowed. Again, I cannot defend myself.
"Because of pain? It's okay, even though his mother has a fever like this, her breast is still good." Midwife takes Marisa from Mom's lap.
"Yes." Yeah." Bang Rafi followed the instructions of Bu Midwife and returned with a large cup of sweet tea and a small jar with coconut biscuits in it.
"Please give to Ayu's mother" asked Bu Midwife.
"Ning, Madam Midwife, just call Ning," I said. My voice started to come out.
I took the sweet tea that Bang Rafi gave me and drank it greedily. Less heat, but it makes me able to spend everything without being distracted.
"It's pretty dede breastfed first huh, Ning."
I flinched, still reluctant to hold Marisa. Midwife Isti caught my gelagat and stopped giving Marisa.
"It's so pretty with the baby, percis mother. Dede kangen Mamah's? Wait a minute, her mom's still tired." Midwife spoke to Marisa while carrying and confirmed the position of Marisa's clothes.
I saw my son's face, innocent face, tears shed, I could cry again.
"Here, son," I asked.
I grabbed Marisa and kissed her, inhaling the fragrance of heaven, which is more fragrant than any perfume in the world.
Midwife confirmed Marisa's position until she was comfortable breastfeeding. At first, Marisa refused to let me know because I was uncomfortable with my temperature. But, his hunger made him start sucking and the longer it got tighter.
She entered the room with a bottle of milk. It's true that I thought he was buying formula for my son. He wants me to get further away from Marisa.
"Mother Midwife, this love is all," Mother asked.
"Do not ma'am, ASI Bu Ayuning is enough and better for the baby dede,"
"Ning again fever, breast milk is bland," Mother defended.
"ASI it will not be bland, anytime, anywhere ASI will remain warm and according to the needs of the little one. Formula milk is expensive, Mom," explained Bu Isti with a smile.
"Mother and Bang Rafi don't bother to buy formula. There is free. Better money to buy fish, meat, vegetables, fruit and other healthy foods for Ning, then the breast milk is more qualified. And ... Breastfeeding mothers should be happy," said Bu Midwife while glancing at Bang Rafi.
"Ning eat a lot yes, as long as the food is healthy no problem, should not be challenged. But, don't eat instant noodles huh, later bloated stomach." He smiled meaningfully, revealing his gings.
I breastfed Marisa while continuing to look at her face. The Midwife is seen conversing with Mom and Bang Rafi, before she finally leaves.
Bang Rafi bought food because I had to take medicine. There is a throbbing in the abdomen, pain that radiates throughout the body. Slowly the pain disappeared after taking the medicine from Midwife Isti. Luckily, there he is today. Marisa's stomach is still safe from other than ASI but, I'm not sure you'll be obedient not to give formula, given the red boxes she bought more than one.
"If you want to go, just go, but don't take Marisa!" shouting Mother.
What the hell is this?
