Dreams of a Poor Girl

Dreams of a Poor Girl
Chapter 34

This afternoon the weather turned cloudy, black clouds could be seen struggling in the sky. Zahra who was cooking for dinner, rushed towards the back of the house to lift her clothesline.

Duarrr

Just as his feet stepped towards the door, the thunderous sound of lightning shook him until the clothesline he was holding fell down.

"Astaghfirullah!" zahra said as she stroked her thumping chest.

His feelings suddenly became unpleasant, he suddenly remembered his sister who had left since yesterday.

"Dec, where are you? Are you all right?" mummified Zahra.

Zahra decided to look for Zulfa, she felt so guilty for letting her sister leave the house. He picked up the clothes drop earlier, then placed it in a basket of clothes. He went out of the house to find Zulfa.

However, just about to step into the courtyard of the house, Zahra's footsteps came to a halt because of her husband's words.

"Where are you going, Dek? asked Amir who had just returned from his workshop.

"I want to find Zulfa, Mom. He must be confused to have no shelter," replied Zahra then continued his steps, but was detained by Amir.

"So soon it will rain, you better wait until the weather is back to bright."

"But, Mas. Zulfa has no family but me, and where does he live? He must have been cold last night, especially now it's raining."

"Yes, we'll look for it together. Now go in, it will soon rain," persuaded Amir.

Inevitably, Zahra also obeyed her husband's words, although in her heart she felt unsettled because she thought of Zulfa's circumstances.

Meanwhile, Zulfa, who had just returned home from the office, cleaned up and made food.

The cloudy weather like this reminds him of his brother, when it rains, his brother always makes warm drinks and his favorite boiled noodles.

"Sister, I miss! I'm sorry for always bothering and taking care of my sister" murmured Zulfa.

Not feeling her tears flowing down her cheeks, she really missed the time to gather with her brother.

Drrtt

The phone on the kitchen table shook, Zulfa wiped her tears and answered the call.

"Hello, assalamualaikum!" greet Zulfa.

"Cla'alaikumsalam, Zulfa. You how are you?"

"Alhamdulillah, I'm good. Sorry, who is this?" ask Zulfa.

"Oh yes, I'm Anis. Your neighbor used to."

"Allah, Sister Anis! Sorry about me, Ma'am. I didn't know it was Anis."

"That's okay, Fa. Where do you work now?"

"I just started work this morning, Ma'am. So CEO secretary at the company, Ma'am Anis how are you?"

"Alhamdulillah, I am also good. Congratulations, yes! Hopefully you can be a successful person, who was just a secretary turned into a boss," said Anis.

"Aamiin, hopefully Mbak Anis will also be a successful person."

"Aamiin's."

"Bak Anis knows whose number I'm from?"

"Hehe, yesterday accidentally met your brother when he was shopping at the minimarket where I work."

"Brother? Oh, Mas Iwan huh, Ma'am?"

"Yes, Mother. He's called Mas Iwan, the guy's friendly and nice."

"Where are you now? It's the same or there's been a good change" asked Anis.

"Yes, Ma'am. I'm not sure if I can recover, I can only resign to my current situation. Moreover, my hair has started to fall out by itself."

"Patience, Fa. You must be upbeat and optimistic to heal, if God has willed, you can definitely recover from your current illness."

"Hopefully, Ma'am. I don't want to expect anything uncertain."

"The medicine is still you drink, right?"

"Still, Ma'am. I don't know how long I'll have to rely on drugs. Honestly, I'm tired of all this. I'm just a burden on the family, nothing can be expected of me."

"Huss, don't talk about it! You're a good boy, there will definitely be something good waiting for you" Anis said.

One month later.

This morning Zulfa was in a hurry because he woke up late, he also did not have time to cook breakfast. As a result, he only drank milk.

After that he immediately rushed off to the office, and without him noticing the medicine he had to consume every day was left in his room.

Arriving at the office, Zulfa headed to his room and turned on his computer to finish the files that the meeting was going to use next week.

Not long after, Dirga and Dimas had arrived at the office. Dirga who accidentally noticed Zulfa, immediately opened his voice.

"Are you sick, Fa?"

"No, Sir. I'm fine," Zulfa replied politely.

"Why is your face so pale?" ask Dirga again.

"Oh, maybe because I woke up late, then hurriedly afraid to be late in the office."

"If you are sick again, you can rest at home" suggested Dirga.

"God insha, I'm fine, sir," replied Zulfa.

Dirga went into his room, but in his room he was still monitoring Zulfa. He felt that Zulfa was not okay.

At 9 a.m., Zulfa remembered that he had not taken his medicine. He then searched for the cure in his bag, but the sought after did not meet because the medicine was left behind.

"Oh my God, my medicine does not exist! Feelings I always keep in the bag, but nothing, '" inner Zulfa.

Zulfa recalled where she last took her medicine. He patted her on the forehead when he remembered that the medicine was on the room table, last night he forgot to put it in the bag because of his tired body.

"Where's this? Hopefully not relapse, so I can focus on work," murmured Zulfa then resumed his work that had stopped.

At exactly half-twelve, Zulfa felt a pain in his head, but as much as possible he could bear the pain of not wanting to interfere with his work.

"Fa, your nose is nosebleed" said Dimas, who happened to cross Zulfa's place.

Zulfa who was surprised by Dimas' words immediately wiped the blood coming out of his nose. He didn't want anyone to know about his illness, he didn't want to lose his job because of the illness he was suffering from.

"If you are sick, you should rest at home. Do not be forced to work, fearing that later even more severe," Dimas said.

"That's okay, sir. I'll stop the drizzle as well."

Without responding to Zulfa's words, Dimas passed into Dirga's room, leaving Zulfa who was still cleaning the blood with a tissue.
