Doctor Naura

Doctor Naura
Chapter 9 Go Home

I saw a clock on the wall of my practice room. Time shows at 12:30 WIB. Patient number 23 is the last patient. A child with special needs is strep throat accompanied by swelling of the gums.

I realize, there's still an extra patient tonight. Although every night I only limited the receiving of 20 patients, but rarely the amount was right. Always more. According to the nurse who was my assistant in the registration department, patients number 21 and above, they begged for treatment tonight for reasons that of course we could not refuse.

After drinking mineral water on my desk, I didn't say much, but only spoke as necessary to the two nurses who helped me. Then I picked up the hoodie and rushed to go home. But I didn't find where my car keys were. Usually in my desk drawer. And it dawned on me that I had forgotten to take it from the Zamy bang. I immediately headed for his practice room which was only limited to a waiting room hall of about 4 meters.

"The doctor's still there?" I asked his male assistant nurse. He just came out of Zamy's practice room.

"Still doc, he's been waiting for the doctor for a long time." He replied while nodding politely.

"Waiting me?" My whisper in my heart.

"Tok tok....!" I knocked on the practice room door bang Zamy.

"Come on Bee..," he said from within. I saw that he was still sitting on the work chair while looking at the hape that was grasped with both hands. I saw my car keys hanging from a small LV wallet and a camel doll sitting to his right.

"Key man mo...."

"Have finished? The patient is finished, right? Let's go home." Bang Zamy directly cut. He offered a basket filled with food.

"Bring dik, there was a wife of Mr. wawako delivering her daughter-in-law who had given birth last week stitch control." So bang Zamy spoke while prodding his parcel. I can't refuse anymore. My brother gets parcels most often from his patients. And usually parcels are always given to me to take home on the New Road. Or shared with nurses and pharmacists in the clinic.

"That's so heavy, so much he bribed brother." I grumble because of the unbalanced state of the parcel. Kulirik. A variety of several box dates, raisins, chocolate variants, bottled drinks that start frenzied in tivi before fasting, and others.

"Where are Naura's car keys?" I asked again.

"Have you got hold of." Relax that tone of speech.

"Where are you going home?" I asked back.

"To the house of the New Way. It's mom's dad, bang Fathur and Rahman are there again. It's not good to sleep alone in the clinic. They think again.... Then tomorrow morning my brother wants to nganter bang Fathur to the airport...."

"Is he going home?" I cut.

"Yes, she was just forced to go home by her mother for explaining things...." Bang Zamy suddenly stopped talking. He turned his head towards me, then came back and took the parcel in my hand.

"It looks like this pascel is too heavy for you, let's take it." Bang Zamy brought the parcel he had given me. He did not continue his sentence. My heart is back. Back to the words of my mother that I was not their son.

"Bee.., ayooo...." Bang Zamy called me near my black Alphard.

"Anybody not bringing your own car?" I saw the car in the clinic garage was still like that. Pajero Sport silver metallic perch dashing no matter the master.

"You were in your car, back in your car." Bang Zamy spoke while getting in the car. I went out to close the door of the clinic, and said goodbye to the Ridwan man who had been following us to close the gate. He has been working in the clinic for 4 years as a janitor and security. While his wife, bik Narsih, helped bang Zamy take care of his house in the clinic. Honey Bee Clinic which was originally the parent house of the residents. A large house and 3 rented houses behind it. Purchased father and mother since 1998. At a time when the economy is falling. Lucky my parents had a stash.

"Mang Ridwan, Naura's coming home. It's a snack." I gave him 1 box of dates and 1 box of chocolates that I had taken out while carrying parcels before being taken again by bang Zamy.

"Thank you doctor, healthy, long life, cheap fortune, hastened his soul mate. Hehe." Mang Ridwan received the chocolate while thanking him. I just nodded. Just now I opened the door and was about to get into the car suddenly just startled by the sound of someone from behind. I don't know when it's coming.

"Will I go home to Nancy?" Irwan was behind me. Sebatt surprised me not a bitch. He's still wearing his police uniform.

"Astaghfirullah Wan, just ngagetin you huh...." I really don't understand. Like a ghost, he was suddenly behind me without making any sound.

"Why are you here?" I'm a little suspicious about seeing this police officer. It's a little weird, I thought.

"That's my bike." He pointed to the side of the road about 5 meters away from my car.

"But I don't hear his voice." I asked back.

"It's too late to go home Wan, anyway you can be here these nights." Irwan just smiled.

"Yes, come home, your brother has been staring at me through the rear view of your car...." Irwan glanced unhappily towards the Zamy bang.

"Sweety you Wan...." I'm muttering.

"Ngapain freak. I just got home from there." He pointed towards the end of the road we were about to cross.

"Say your brother does not have to go straight, just mending his car through the Mambo market direction so as not to spray disinfectant liquid." He suggested. Hearing him talk so, I realized that maybe he was at work because from the end of the road my car parked, I saw far away there a water cannon tactical vehicle was spraying disinfectant liquid into the road.

"Bee come in...." Bang Zamy called me back.

"Yes, yes, bang...." I hurriedly replied.

"There is Irwan again working tuh in front, it seems there is again spraying disinfectant liquid. Suddenly he was behind Naura." I'm proceeding. I saw Irwan start the bike. The sound of the old King motor at 1 am was deafening. He turned back the direction.

"Don't get to know him anymore." Bang Zamy coldly replied.

"Why bang? You know Irwan?" I'm curious. But I saw that Zamy did not respond in the least. Without me telling you, he turned the car around and we drove down the Mambo market street to avoid the spraying area. The streets are very quiet. Usually, when I come home from work this late, I am not allowed to drive myself. Bang Zamy will take me or he'll send Ridwan's nyopir. Back again with my bike.

Arriving at the red light of Mentok road, the silence became more and more. There were only one or two vehicles passing by. The weather was like yesterday afternoon. Moist and cold. The distance of the clinic to my house on Jalan Baru is probably only 2 kilos. But because it passes 2 times the red light then it takes longer to arrive immediately.

After traveling for about twenty minutes we arrived home. I see mom's still waiting. He opened the door.

"Assalamualaikum...." I regretted. Mom kissed my forehead.

"Mommy's not asleep?" Bang Zamy salutes mom after the dads have finished parking the car."

"Mom's not sleepy yet." My mother answered while holding my arm.

"Not sleepy what's worrying about girls?" Bang Zamy.

"Both are. Not yet sleepy and very worried about the mother's daughter."

"Aren't you worried about a bachelor?" Bang Zamy still bothers mom.

"Not one bit." Mom said relax. Bang Zamy laughed crisply then left us.

"You tired, son? I slept with you tonight." She's staring. It's getting weird on my mom.

"Since when do you have permission to sleep with Naura." I looked at mom.

"That's not it, I mean mother...."

"Mother go to the room first, Naura wants to go back for a while." I took off my mother's hand. Rushing towards the kitchen. I took off all the hijabs, the gowns and the long clothes and pants. As soon as the corona invaded the world I did become extra cautious. Every time you go home, always remove all outer clothing while on duty. Either current clothes from the General Hospital or clothes from work in the clinic.

"The clothes go straight to Bee's washing machine, so there's nothing left outside." Suddenly I was startled by the sound of bang Zamy. Apparently he had not entered the room, but changed clothes there as well. I immediately took the hijab I had removed. Then ran towards the room covered in hijab. Mother who had been lying on my bed was astonished.

"Why are you running like a ghost?" Mother asked.

"There's nothing ma'am. Just surprised there's a big lizard in the dining room."

"Owh!"

I went to the bathroom, washed myself and wanted to get some rest. While the night was getting far, and I was just about to dream.
