Doctor Naura

Doctor Naura
Chapter 26 Against Guna

Sunday night is coming. Amid the government's call to stay at home, the streets in the city of Pangkalpinang still remain boisterous with the sound of vehicles. We sat on the terrace enjoying the corn and boiled beans brought by Yuk Mairoh this afternoon. Smoke from the direction of the mouthpiece of the teapot and beautiful glasses containing warm sweet tea swayed in the wind. This is not a night watch. But it's almost 12 p.m. Returning from practice at the Honey Bee clinic, we had the opportunity to chat with our devoted father and mother waiting for our return. But not long after me and bang Zamy came, my dad left us at the checkpoint and invited Fredy to play chess. They are engrossed in a warm tea and a plate of bean stew. While me, bang Zamy and mom were engrossed in our own way.

"When I imagined, Naura's mother would argue with her about marriage. But he seems to be quite mature about it." I talk while busy chewing.

"Yes I'm also worried that Aunt Erlinda will reject our plan." Bang Zamy replied. I just kept listening.

"But are they really with his talk?" Mother raised concerns again.

"I mean mother?" I asked.

"Sorry Naura, I mean, did your mom and Nina really have to be sincere about your and Zamy's marriage? Not that we don't trust them, but we still need to be vigilant." Mom took out her teardrops.

"No need to worry mom, Nina's a good and smart girl, basically, just maybe not yet grown up." Bang Zamy.

" Waw knows all too well about Nina...." I interrupted staring at bang Zamy. Bang Zamy smiled as he approached my seat. He sat on the back of my left front porch sofa. His eyes were looking ahead as usual.

"Asyeekkk.., it seems that someone is starting to get jealous of you...." Bang Zamy placed his right hand on my right shoulder. Sometimes he would stroke my head.

"Who is jealous...." I sewot myself. Suddenly bang Zamy lowered his head, kissed exactly on my crown, then his right hand was pressed a bit long and strong exactly on my crown. I wanted to look at him in wonder. But his palm was even more powerful pressing down.

"La haula wala quwwata illa billahil aliyil adzim.., la haula wala quwwata illa billahil aliyil adzim.., la haula wala quwwata illa billahil aliyil adzim...." Bang Zamy read lafadz hauqalah suddenly. Mother stood closer.

"Let's go inside." Mom dragged my arm around to get home. His face immediately paled. I goosebumps for a moment. The stench suddenly burst out making me want to vomit. Bang Zamy picked up the tea glass on the table. Then, reading the bismillah aloud, he threw the glass at a pair of yellow round eyes among the flowers under my bedroom window.

"Plac! Dush!" The sound of watery glasses smashed into the hairy raw meat. A black cat lay down instantly.

"Meoonggg.., meooong..., meoonggg...." His voice was not like an ordinary cat. There was a sharp, terrible subtle tone. Bang Zamy picked up the sandals, then with a flashlight on the phone, he approached the source of the sound.

"Blashhhhh's..." A shadow of a black cat that had been lying down fell over the fence, disappearing towards the highway. Father and Fredy had already approached towards the Zamy bang in shock at the slight commotion.

"What's Zam?" Dad looked around.

"There's something unusual. Out of nowhere, Zamy saw a black cat, moving silently as if to pounce on Naura. Usually cats will make a sound when approaching humans, especially if he is hungry. And Zamy was not making it up, just then Zamy felt a very different aura. Creepy and make the feathers goosebumps. There are other than humans listening to our conversation." Bang Zamy explained. His head occasionally looked inside.

"Bee.., just go to bed, it's night. This let brother take care of it." Bang Zamy spoke to me with agitated breath.

"It's night, let's go to sleep." Dad brought the glasses and dishes outside to the living room.

"Fred, we'll connect later..." Dad went back to the porch talking to Fredy who looked confused.

"Okay, sir." Fredy answered and returned to the guard post. Then.., dad and bang Zamy are already with me and mom in the living room. The door's been locked.

"Bismillahi tawakkaltu 'allah la hawla wala quwwata illa billah...." I heard bang Zamy closing the door while reading the prayer aloud.

I sat on the couch hugged my mom. Bang Zamy took a deep breath then sat down next to father. We are face to face, face to face, heart to heart, connecting feelings to feelings. There's a language we don't want to speak, but there's a story we want to tell. Momentary silence. Almost one in the morning. The sound of an owl on the vacant ground behind the fence of the house also spiced up the silence. The howls of the dog rumbling from the neighboring houses increasingly create an atmosphere less comfortable. The sound of crickets seemed to indicate that there were other conditions and emotions around us.

"Only ordinary cats really, Zamy just carried away the atmosphere that was too late at night. It's not good still out at this hour." Dad tried to melt our tension.

Mom sat up straight and took her hug off me. Then with a voice stuck in his throat he spoke.

"No yeah. Mother felt for herself, immediately came the stench, mother immediately goosebumps, but remained silent because she was worried that Zamy and Naura were afraid. Well apparently Zamy felt too, I know when I saw Zamy trying to close the crown of Naura while reading lafadz hauqalah. I didn't know there was a cat." Mom doesn't look calm.

"Bismillahilladzi la yadurru ma a ismihi shay’un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama’ wa huwas-sami ul-`alim-In the name of Allah; and with His name there is no harm whatsoever in the heavens and the earth. And He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing." Dad recited a prayer reminding us not to get carried away. Suddenly bang Zamy opened his grasp. There was a white rectangular piece of paper with a hand bearing the Arabic letter on some of its edges. And it's in the middle of the Arabic script that says 'Naura'. Dad picked it up, took it to the sink, picked up a match, burned it and then doused the blackened remains of ash with tap water. Previously the father read solemnly' Al-Fatihah, the last three letters of the Quran : Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq, Surat An-Nas followed by Ayat Kursi (Al-Baqarah: 255).

"Here we go, let us pray sunnah, pray to Allah for protection from all forms of evil jinn and humans. And Naura, you're gonna have to do a lot of dhikr and teach son." Dad spoke to us and then went to the master room, the most complete and largest room in my house. Just next to my room.

"Mother sleeps with the girls well yeah...." I spoke before I closed the door.

"okay!" Father replied. Mom and I headed to my room, and bang Zamy was still sitting on the couch by himself.

"Here son, pray there and rest." Mother reminded. Bang Zamy slowly rose towards the room while muttering.

"Zamy was really astonished. Why and who are the rotten humans who so want Naura destroyed." Bang Zamy turned his head, approaching me who was still silent at the door of my room.

"Sleep baby, may God protect us all." Bang Zamy kissed my forehead. I felt a brother's warm touch to his sister.

"May Naura say something bang?" I whispered into bang Zamy's ear.

"Say Bee...." Bang Zamy answered me. Still standing at the door of my room, I slowly began to speak.

"To be honest, when I first entered my house, Naura felt that a pair of eyes were following. But when Naura looked for him, no one was in sight. It's just that, when going home, Naura's eyes looked strangely at Mr. Anang, the night guard at the house of mama papa."

"Who was wearing the black jacket?" Bang Zamy cut.

"Yes. That's Rani's father Naura told brother about."

"What are you talking about yet to enter?" Suddenly mother's voice broke our conversation. Mother just finished ablution. He was already wearing a mukena preparing for prayer.

"Yes ma'am, we're going in and praying." Bang Zamy replied then went to his room. I was too.

"Nauraaa..., Nauraaa..., Naura dear wake up to wake up, why are you?" I suddenly woke up. My mother sat right next to me. Scroll wall clock, it's only 02.46. WIBS. I had nightmares after falling asleep for about two hours.

"You're having nightmares?" Mom's worried. I just nodded holding my head that was dizzy.

"What dream? You remember?" Mom turned on the room lights. My eyes are squeaking withstanding glare.

"The first time I saw you deliriously long and unconscious I woke up. Tell me what your dream is." Mom's back talking. I sat down, my face slumped on both thighs that I stood up.

"It's so scary mom...."

"How son? Do you remember your dream? Tomorrow we go to habib Umar. We consult this. This way you'll be distracted." Mom patted my shoulder. Then tidying up my messy shoulder hair.

"He tied both Naura's legs and hands." I started to tell stories. My dream came back to my mind.

"He carried a long, sharp iron, and pressed it against my bound body. I can't breathe, I'm constricted, I'm terrified of it. I called all of them for help, but no one heard. When I almost drowned, bang Zamy came, he fought the woman. Beat me up and try to let me go. But he was tied up. That woman is creepy. He was bleeding horribly. He's sitting...." I gaped myself.

"sitting down? Sit where?" I asked because I stopped my story.

"The woman was also sitting tied up in a wheelchair with a face full of bloodstains...." I'm proceeding.

"Is her face like that aunt Mira you told me about?" Mom looked at me.

"I can't remember and recognize her mom." I let out a long sigh. He also took a deep breath. He seems to be getting worried. I pulled the blanket, and she pulled me again.

"Wake up and pray." Mother told me.

"So before going to bed already pray ma'am." I was so sleepy, I was reluctant to get out of bed. But she pulled my hand back.

"Sholatlah dear, let's fight the shipment by taking refuge in Allah." My mother woke me up to stand up immediately. Then with drowsiness still adhering beautifully at the tip of the eyelids, I staggered towards the bathroom, ablution and immediately pray tahajud. So too with mom. After the tahajud prayer I did not go to sleep anymore. Waiting for Fajr while looking at hape for a while. While mom had gone out of the room and met the father who had woken up first. I don't know what they're talking about.

The next day, I woke up because my mother had opened the curtains. Sunlight has also barged in from the windows and room vents.

"Wake up son, take a bath and then we go to his house habib Umar in 'Kampung Ayip'. Your father called. He could have been early in the morning. It was afternoon until evening he had a study." Mother explains.

"Why should you go there, ma'am?" I asked as I poured some water into the empty glass next to her.

"Mom believes there is something about you. Let's just consult." Mother explained back. I didn't answer again, went to the bathroom and got ready. When I got out of the bathroom, I went back to the kitchen again. His voice was heard talking to Yuk Mairoh.

"Oh Allah gustiii.., I have chills eh buk...." There was a sound of yuk Mairoh in the kitchen. I guess in my heart, I'm sure you're telling me about last night.

"Yes fortunately the Zamy quickly responded. The black cat didn't pounce on Naura." I heard mom talking. I immediately got dressed, then met my mother who was on the side porch with my father.

"Let's have breakfast first, after that we go to habib Umar." Mother reminded me again. He took me back to the kitchen. A plate of papaya pieces, two boiled eggs, a piece of bread and a glass of milk. I spent it all. Finished breakfast I was looking around for the figure of bang Zamy, probably still sleeping I thought.

"Zamy had a sudden operation he said. He left at half-six this morning." Mom explained without me asking, apparently I know what I'm looking for.

"Sudden operation?"

"Yes he said there was a fatal stress patient or something...." Mother explains. I smiled hearing it.

"Fetal distress bu or fetal distress. Usually the fetus is not getting enough oxygen. That's why it should be removed immediately." I'm explaining. Mom smiled.

"Yes let's go. I've been waiting in the car." Mom pulled.

"Naura wants to grab a wallet and a cell phone first ma'am.." I let go of mom's handrails.

"Don't be long." I met Dad first in the garage next to the kitchen. I went back to my room, got my bag, put my wallet and cell phone in and followed my mom. We headed to Kampung Ayip in question. A village whose population is dominated by Arabs. It's not far from the Honey Bee clinic. We walked towards the back of the clinic down the crossroads with tall buildings towering. Chinese businessman swallow cattle. About twenty minutes later, we got to the house. A simple house with a high floor. There are five steps leading to the porch. Like a stage house, but it's permanent. A veiled woman greeted us with drinks and cookies. About two minutes to wait out Habib Umar. Apparently familiar with father. They chatted for a moment, and then Dad told me in detail what happened to me, including last night's nightmare.

"Sir Rey, indeed such things cannot be separated from before until now. Magic, people allied with demons. It was very dangerous, the one working was the evil jinn-jin. But no matter how strong the world of shamanism, it will not be able to penetrate the person whose heart is always with God. Wherever, whenever and whatever he is doing he will always ask God for help. Allah is All-Good, All in the heavens and the earth. Do not be afraid, but do not be too ignored. The point is don't let your guard down. Always dhikr morning and evening, drink the water of bidara decoction, eat seven ajwa dates. God willing, pellets, whatever it is called. Will not be able to penetrate its purpose." Habib Umar explained at a glance the matter of teluh. We're listening. Dad nodded, and so did mom.

"Now on Nauranya come here." Habib Umar told me to sit next to him. Dad led me closer.

"Please give me permission...." Habib Umar held my crown. He then read the prayers, then blew into the open mineral water that we had brought before.

"By Allah's permission, and follow with more dhikr to Allah, ask for protection only to Him, Allah is All-Seeing, God willing is stoic and others will not hurt you. Drink that...." Habib Umar gave me mineral water. I drank. After talking for a while, we said goodbye. Habib Umar also suggested that I and bang Zamy get married soon. Mom and dad agreed. Then we went home with a bigger heart. The morning was slowly gone, the sun was getting stinging. My heart is growing stronger, getting married to the man I love, doctor Zamy.
