Doctor Naura

Doctor Naura
Chapter 16 Finding Miranti

I'm trying to keep Aunt Erlinda from getting into the VIP room where the Director is being treated. But my efforts are in vain. Aunt Erlinda even lunged at the door and opened the curtain and met Mr. Ram who was recovering.

"Lad...." All the doctors and nurses were shocked by Aunt Erlinda. Doctor Zein restrains aunt Erlinda by smothering her body.

"Mom..., mother.., mother.., please ma'am don't be noisy, pity her father just got along too...."

"Let me talk to him...." Aunt Erlinda got rid of doctor Zein. Doctor Zein shook his head in disappointment then went out of the room.

"Please ma'am, but the risk is my own responsibility. Father's condition is less so good." Dr. Zein put the gloves and mask into the trash. Take a handkerchief in his pants pocket and wipe his face. He was very upset leaving the room.

"Doc! Doker Zein please don't be angry. Sorry mother. But please don't leave your patients." Doctor Nina chased after the Zein doctor who stopped immediately.

"Please secure your mother so we can do the right thing. The commotion can only interfere with diagnosis." Doctor Zein looked at Doctor Nina.

"Okay doc, I'll calm my mom down. But come back." Dr Zein also said. They went back into the room.

"Mom, please wait a minute until you are fully recovered." Doctor Nina pulls the arm of Aunt Erlinda whose chest is flattening with anger. But the pull and speech of doctor Nina did not stop him too. Aunt Erlinda out of the room. He sniffled in the long waiting chair. His family tried to calm down. I who was feeling pity slowly approached and sat down next to Aunt Erlinda. Then without being commanded Aunt Erlinda regained consciousness to my right shoulder. Crying loudly without caring for the gaze of dozens of eyes that passed by.

"How could son, how could aunty fail after twenty-eight years...."

"Patience aunt, relieve emotions and wash your face will make aunty more fresh again." I'm suggesting.

"It feels like the world is over. How could that Nina not be my real child. How could Nina have been blood type B. This really doesn't make sense." Aunt Erlinda is still crying on my shoulder. Suddenly the nurse came back out and found Aunt Erlinda.

"Excuse me ma'am. Sorry distracting. But I dropped a little more. Maybe you can tell the other family. You need 2 more bags of blood type A. Our stock in PMI is empty again so we need a direct blood donor ." The nurse spoke politely while slightly bowing.

"What was it?" Aunt Erlinda asked back. He got up from the backrest on my shoulder.

"Sorry ma'am, that was only 1 bag that fits...." The nurse explained carefully.

"My aunt is blood type A, I'm going to UTD first, God willing I'm healthy and ready to donate blood." Then I got up, and went back to UTD. And unbeknownst to me aunt Erlinda has followed.

"Donor to the Director's father, Doc?" Officers responded immediately when I reported that I would be donating blood.

"Yes." Yeah."

"Okay doc, let's check it out first." I'm just according to what the health workers at UTD said. All this time I always direct patients when treatment. This time I was a patient donor.

"Okay, doc, it's done. Thank you doctor." They thanked me after giving me the milk of a bear and a packet of biscuits. I wanted to refuse but was afraid to offend them.

"Thank you so much for the doctor." Aunt Erlinda thanks me. He held my hand tightly. His eyes are also sharp looking into my eyes. I don't know what's on his mind. I just nodded and smiled. But suddenly Aunt Erlinda pulled my hand, she spoke seriously near the hospital corridor mast.

"Sir doctor, if you don't mind, will you accompany your aunt somewhere?"

"Where's aunt?" I asked.

"Just let's get out of here. Let Nina take care of her papa." Aunt Erlinda is serious. He called someone and said goodbye to me.

"Alright aunt, come on." Then we rushed to where I parked the car. Aunt Erlinda sat next to me.

"Where are we?" I asked after near the hospital exit gate.

"In the direction of Water Itam." Aunt Erlinda answered.

"Later turn towards Pasir Padi. After the pesantren there will be furniture. Not far from there is a house. If I used to say, decades ago his house was gray." Aunt Erlinda described the location we were going to. I drove the car at moderate speed.

About 30 minutes after passing the 'china cemetery' near the TNI headquarters, we passed the rat roads to Air Itam. Finally we came to Air Itam. My car's pace is changing slowly. We're looking for the house that Aunt Erlinda mentioned. But almost an hour we even went back and forth not finding the shape of the house in question. Understandably over the span of decades, many new buildings and buildings have been torn down or replaced. Aunt Erlinda many times and alternately contact someone through her phone. But it still hasn't helped. We have not found the house in question. However, there is 1 house that Erlinda suspected as a wanted house. But there have been many changes. We got out of the car and tried to ask.

"Assalamulaikumwarahmatullahiabarokatuh...." I knocked on the door and went to the house. The house is still like an old building, but beside it there is a large shophouse and also a place to sell various shaby-shaby. That's what Aunt Erlinda said.

"Getishalight." Someone's voice sounds from within. An old woman with a grandson who is about 1 year old.

"Sorry Grandma, is this Miranti's house?" Aunt Erlinda asked immediately. I alternately looked at Grandma and Aunt Erlinda. I called a kid in a sling holding a cookie.

"No. Grandma doesn't know that name. This is my son's house." Grandma answered.

"It's a house to buy so what makes ya grandma?" Aunt Elinda probing. Grandma seemed to dislike.

"For what do you know buy so what makes?" Grandma's a little cynical. Aunt Erlinda looked at grandma sharply.

"Mr please help us. Is this Miranti's house isn't it?" Aunt Erlinda is still trying to calm down.

"No!" Grandma answered immediately.

"Mom, I remember now. This room has not been changed at all. This is Miranti's house. I've come here even four times." Aunt Erlinda standing up. He looks around. How he remembers very well several times already fighting with Mira first in this living room because of usurping Mr. Ram.

"Maybe you're remembering wrong. This is not Miranti's house and we don't know Miranti at all. Miranti who?" Grandma asked unhappily. The toddler in her cradle began to fuss over hearing her grandmother speak high.

"Metul nek. This must be Mira's house. Where's Mira nek?" Aunt Erlinda stood up even holding a grandmother's punda. The story became crying.

"Aunty calm aunt, emotions will not solve the problem. Sit down." I tried to calm Aunt Erlinda who immediately complied.

"Please grandma where Miranti is, I really want to meet her."

"I'm sorry mom. Please leave our house, we don't even know the name of the person you're referring to." Grandma even kicked us out. Aunt Erlinda stood up again.

"Hey grandma, where's Mira? I'm sure you're hiding something." Aunt Erlinda even wanted to enter the inner room. I pulled his hand.

"It's aunt, maybe we got the wrong address." I pulled my aunt out to take her.

"Can't be wrong. Even that! You saw that embroidery. Still with the old frame when I met him here. I remember, right, this is Miranti's house." Aunt Erlinda insisted.

"Go you guys wrong place." Grandma kicked us out for the second time. I pulled Aunt Erlinda's hand. But aunt Erlinda suddenly squashed to the feet of grandma.

"Sir, please, I need to see Mira once. I'm sorry for what happened last time. I'm really sorry. Please tell me where Miranti is right now." Aunt Erlinda crying. He knelt down at the grandmother's feet. I kept quiet and didn't understand what else to do. Grandma turned her eyes. His eyes were filled with anger.

"Now you've come up with no other purpose. Are you not satisfied to ruin my son's future? Not satisfied have you taken Ram from him? Are you not satisfied that you took his life? Go then! Get out of my house." Grandma was expressing her emotions.

"Please Grandma, just meet me once with Mira. I really need him...." Aunt Erlinda is still on her knees. Grandma was silent, she gave her granddaughter to someone inside the house. A stranger. Everything is foreign to me.

"There's no more Mira. He's dead! You're the one who took his life." Grandma crying sobbing. He covered his eyes with the end of the cloth carrying his grandson earlier.

"Go away.., it means nothing more that you come. There's no point in looking for him anymore. Go away...." Grandma was crying.

"I'm sorry grandma. Please forgive me, just meet me once with her."

"He's dead!" Grandma answered. Aunt Erlinda stopped crying. He looked into Grandma's eyes. Grandma was still as much as wiping her tears using the end of the cloth carrying the grandson.

"Aunty, we'll think about it later. Now we go home first." I pulled the shoulder of Aunt Erlinda who was kneeling at Grandma's feet. He complied, then walked straight to the exit. Grandma followed us. He looked at me who was smiling fondly in regret.

"Sorry to disturb Grandma. We go home first." I had a good night with Grandma. We were ready to leave the house immediately. House with a variety of ornamental plants that are not so neatly maintained.

"In Old Tunu. Look for the Tua Tunu near the chicken farm cut sir Soleh." He was there, in the back of the garden, about 4 kilos from the farm. Enter beside the fence of Pak Soleh's farm. There can be a car in. Meet but don't hurt anymore. He's alive, even if his soul is dead." Suddenly we stopped. The grandmother suddenly gave me complete information. Aunt Erlinda hugged grandma. Many times he apologized and asked for forgiveness of sins in the past. We headed for the car, and then the door closed again. From the open curtain, two pairs of eyes followed our departure.

***

About an hour drive because the distance between Air Itam and Tua Tunu is the end of the meeting of the end of the city of Pangkalpinang. An hour plus back and forth asking questions and reading maps of the region. Which is finally on the path to eR8 aka Very Simple House Once So Selonjor Only Very Difficult. I passed a rough asphalt road in the middle of the forest. It is no longer a wilderness, but oil palm, pepper and rubber plantations. From the roadside we could find the plantation and farm of Pak Haji Soleh which was written on a piece of cement board in white. Then I was desperate to get into a narrow road that was only passed by one car. A dirt road with two large rounded stones protrudes to the surface of the road.

"Be careful, doctor." Aunt Erlinda was worried about me.

"Yes ma'am, inshaAllah." We just kept going through that narrow road. Luckily, there were no sharp turns. On the right left of the road a lot of farmer plantations, there are pineapple, papaya, poison yam, chilli and others. If the atmosphere was not carrying a aunt Erlinda who was emotional, our trip was very pleasant. Returning to nature breathes clean air, away from the hustle and noise of the capital. We keep creeping, slowly sometimes uphill and sometimes downhill. Sometimes straight and find turns. In my heart always pray that no one meets anyone else on the way. Only once met a middle-aged man carrying a long bamboo. I stopped letting him through first. While my hand pulled the front drawer and pulled out a gun.

"You got a doc's gun?" Aunt Erlinda's shocked.

"Yes aunt. Our profession is one of those who obtains permission from the competent authority." I answered casually.

"Well, how did you get that?" Aunt Erlinda's like shuddering in horror.

"I used to be almost dibegal aunt, so bang Zamy take care of this." The deg! Calling bang Zamy's name I shook back. Where's she? Why didn't he activate his phone number.

"It's hard to get that?" Aunt Erlinda asked again.

"Lumayan ribet is aunty. Naura used to undergo physical and mental health tests to avoid the abuse of firearms." I explained a little.

"Owh."

****

No more chatter. After a long time through the forest on a narrow road we finally found a garden house that is not so big. The yard is full of earth. There are freshly harvested pineapples of about three thousand fruits. Next to it were sacks of chilies as well as cucumbers and tomatoes. A variety of vegetables, bitter melon and long beans also filled the wooden yard. Me and my aunt agreed to stop there. Aunt Erlinda repeatedly took a deep breath and exhaled. I got off, locked the car and followed the auntie walking towards the board house. There's smoke rising from there. The voices of the toddlers are starting to sound.

"Excuse me...! Assalamualaikum...." I approached the log house in the middle of the plantation. I waited a little while but there was no word.

"Excuse me assalamualaikum...." I'm getting closer to home.

"Waalaikumsalam... find who?" Suddenly a woman came out like me. I gasp. My blood seemed to flow all over my head. I can't believe I saw it. Why could it happen? I pinched my arm many times and it hurt. I'm not dreaming. It´s real. I was on the farm and saw someone who looked so much like me. Aunt Erlinda was also fascinated. He looked at me many times alternately at the woman who had just answered my greetings. His nose, his eyes, his eyebrows, his lips, his forehead, his cheeks, I myself felt as if I was looking at myself standing there. In a simple plank house, in the middle of the forest.

"Who are you looking for, Mom?" The woman repeated the question. I'm still staring at him. So is he. I saw that he was a little confused to see my exact same face as her. Just different body posture. He's a little thin with a little dark skin probably because of gardening. A face with more folds than my face, Doctor Naura.

"Nindya.... Has the middleman come?" Suddenly I heard a woman's voice coming from inside the house. Aunt Erlinda immediately approached the porch of the wooden house. His head turned inward.

"Who are you looking for, Mom?" Somewhat annoyed the woman called Nindya asked again.

"What was that Mira's voice? Miranti?" Aunt Erlinda asked immediately. Nindya stared at Aunt Erlinda sharply. Alternately staring.

"Who are you?" What's the need?" Nindya asked unhappily.

"I want to talk to Mira.., it's important." Aunt Erlinda pleads. There was no more excitement that he showed as before in the hospital.

"Nindy.... Is the skull cheap again?" Back to the sound from within.

"No mom. Someone asked for california papaya seeds." Nindya lied.

"Oh.., I thought the skull was coming."

"Not mom." Nindya answered again.

"What's asking for the seed instead of the doctor who came here earlier? Not doctor Zamykah? Please pick up mom if Zamy comes." The deg! Again my heart felt like it was going to be dislodged to hear said doctor Zamy. How could this family know him. Oh, no, maybe someone else. But Zamy's doctor in Pangkalpinang town is just him. I'm flustered.

"Why are you here? Who are you looking for?" Nindya pulls Erlinda's aunt's hand away from home.

"I want to talk to Miranti. Just sec. Please just. I can hear his voice."

"What are your needs? Please don't bother us." Nindya is getting unhappy.

"We'll be a minute. I just need to confirm something very important to Mira. Please." please." Aunt Erlinda. Suddenly came a car in which down Nina and the family who was in the hospital earlier, also the Director and driver. They're approaching.

"Nindyah? Is that a middleman's car, son?" I heard again the voice of the woman from inside the house.

"Yes mom, mommy's sleeping, we want to negotiate a price." Nindya lied back. Mr. Ram approached us and the others.

"What's Linda? What are you worried about? Why did you go to the woods like this?" The Director who was still a bit pale in face asked. He walked slowly closer to Aunt Erlinda. Nindya turned to look at Mr. Ram. Mr. Ram was surprised to see Nindya who was so similar to me. Everyone looked at each other in astonishment.

"This who? Why is it so similar to Doctor Naura?" Mr. Ram asked. Nindya just kept quiet, her eyes staring intently at Mr. Ram. Like a starving eagle, he seemed eager to pounce on Mr. Ram with his eyes and teeth grinding.

"Nindya does the skull ask for a cheap price again, son?" From inside the house came the voice of a woman. Mr. Ram was surprised. Instantly he headed towards walking towards the sound.

"Hey is a great father. You don't have permission to enter my house, even if it's small and ugly." Nindya suddenly held back Mr. Ram's steps with her feet. Mr. Ram was crushed and fell into a clothesline of seedlings in the yard.

"Father!" Doctor Nina has arrested Mr. Ram.

"Hey..., don't be rude to my papa..., or do you want to go to jail?" Doctor Nina Emotion.

"Nindya...? Why son? Are the middlemen in debt again?" The voice of a woman from inside the house. Mr. Ram ran towards the house but again blocked Nindya. Even Nindya had already taken a machete beside the door.

"Please enter sir. Please. I'm not afraid I'm gonna kill the guy who's trying to mess with our lives again."

"Hey take your machete off! Don't try to hurt my papa. Or you'll rot in jail." Doctor Nina spoke out. Mr. Ram just gave the code for Nina to be quiet.

Nindy.... Nindy.... Why so much noise, son?" Again the voice of the woman from inside the house was stung.

"It's okay mom. Only their voices asked for seedlings were joking. I'm sleeping." Nindya ran towards the door. He closed it from the outside.

"Mom, what are you doing here. Let's go home." Doctor Nina advised. He pulled both of my arms.

"You go home first, son. I still have business with Mira...." Aunt Erlinda explained.

"Mira's? Is Mira inside?" Mr. Ram is enthusiastic. His face was nervous and pale.

"Just think of your mind. Where's your real son? Know it? Your Nine blood type is neither A nor O but B. You recall? Your blood and mine are A. Nina is not our real child. You know Ram?" Suddenly aunt Erlinda pokes angrily at Mr. Ram. He was startled and furrowed his eyebrows many times seeing doctor Nina and aunt Erlinda over and over again. While the doctor Nina who did not expect her mother would say like that was so devastated. He shed tears.

"Hey Mira's.... I know you're inside out. I want to talk to you. Only once. Come out." Tanye Erlinda yelled but there was no sound from inside the house.

"Go away.... Go everything please. Don't bother my mom. Don't disturb my family. Let us live quietly." Nindya pleaded with everyone. He was really begging.

"Nindya..., why is it getting noisier? What's up, son?" The voice of the woman from inside the house was heard again.

"It's okay mom."

"Miraaa...! It's me Erlinda. Do you still remember? I Erlinda want to talk to you." Suddenly aunt Erlinda surprised everything. He screamed to be heard from inside the house. Nindya tried to shut her aunt Erlinda's mouth but in vain.

"Come Mira! Or I'll go in." No more legalities.

"Get out Mira...., did you trade who my real son was in the hospital with? Come outside!" Aunt Erlinda's eyes started to glaze over again. Mr. Ram just silently stared. He was still looking at Nina's doctor, Nindya and I alternated.

"Mira! Come outside! I'm not gonna talk to you. But let's just say, you trade with the baby who my baby was...." Aunt Erlinda roars. Shortly thereafter, Nindya opened the door.

"Come in, 'cause you still don't want to leave when I'm driving." Then the room of the house board. It looks like the living room that only has a sticker of a calendar with the current mayor. On some sides of the plank walls are displayed some classic framed photos. At the end of the room appears a thin-bodied woman with unkempt hair. He was wearing a negligee and a shabby cloth. At his feet attached a pair of flip-flops are no longer new. He sat in a wooden chair facing us at the entrance. A stick was near his knee. The woman is paralyzed. She's my mom and Aunt Erlinda's age. Suddenly, Mr. Ram was sitting limp and crying on the lap of his personal driver.
