Chapter 94: Thanking yourself

The bright morning illuminated Evelyne's room and the fresh air that entered it made the atmosphere in the room much more soothing than usual. William indeed accidentally opened the window because he wanted to replace the air in the room with fresher air.

“K-why? Aren't you an important person in the company? Why can you leave your job and hand it over to someone else?” Evelyne was amazed to see William quite relaxed even though his position is now the king of the business world.

William was silent for a moment, then lowered his bowl on his lap and placed his spoon in the bowl. “What if I leave my job? Besides, I'm taking a leave of absence too because I want to take care of you even if it's only for a little while. You know, some of this backside I'm often busy out because I take care of my business outside the office. So after I finish it a little, then I will take my time to receive you here”

“Yes, but..is it okay, if you don't get into the office for a few days?” Evelyne was worried about William.

We never care how someone will always try to keep us standing, but when he falls....we just keep quiet and keep thinking of ourselves to keep standing without thinking about how the fate expected by someone who always helps us to keep standing.”

William was silent on the spot, he did not know why Evelyne suddenly said so much. And from his words, he was like saying that he was the one who was meant in his words. “I think like that, not selfish. We live in a hard world, although many people who help keep standing but you should know! You are the one who makes you stand the most from beginning to end. They only support how you should stand up straight, but what accompanies and does it with you is yourself. Whether they exist or not, you will stand with them”

“Y-yes, why are you talking like that? Isn't every one of your questions I've answered honestly?” Evelyne frowned as she let go of the hug to look at the face of William who was looking at her with her gentle gaze. “Ya, but this time is different.”

“A few days ago, I heard the news that you didn't come to the office for a long time. Can you tell me what the reason and cause was that you didn't come to the office back then?” William asked until Evelyne fell silent upon hearing the question. He also thought that William was completely unaware of the conflict in his office when he went out of town, so Evelyne would take advantage of the situation to not let William know. “I was sick that time, and stayed for a few days at mom's place. At first I we only hurt for a while, but I would never imagine that my pain would last for 3 days and I also forgot to give the chairman a license that I was sick”

William held Evelyne's hand which moved to feel the mattress to look for his lost HP somewhere. “No need to look for it! I'm just asking why you didn't answer my phone, not checking how much I called you back then”
