I'm going to tell you a story about something terrible that happened on Halloween. This story is true, so they say, and it makes my hair stand up just to hear it.
It all happened years ago in my city, which, at that time, was just a small town between the mountains of Catalonia, Spain.
The city is nothing more than a small box with a church, a garden, a prison and a school, with all the houses clustered around. The city is very proud because their school has been chosen as the best school in the province.
It was the morning of October 31, Halloween, and the students were doing crafts and arts in their classes. Some cut skeletons from sheets of paper, some painted vampire bats and others drew pumpkins.
The students were all between eight and nine years old. Their teacher was a beautiful young woman who had only been working at the school for a month.
While the kids are having fun, preparing for Halloween decorations, the teacher listens to the radio to know the weather forecast.
She planned to host an outdoor Halloween party for the kids that day and wanted to make sure that it would not rain.
Suddenly, the weather forecast was interrupted by a news bulletin.
"This is an important announcement. An assassin has escaped from a local prison and is on the loose. He is described as armed and extremely dangerous. Please, don't try to catch him. Police will act ... "
The teacher turned off the radio. He didn't want the kids to know, but it was too late. All the children had heard the radio broadcast and were very scared by the news.
They knew that the prison was very close to the school. The teacher tried to convince them and told them not to worry.
A few minutes later, the principal made an announcement via the intercom:
"Consider all teachers! We have been told that the police are dealing with a very serious situation that is going on right now in the city. All teachers are advised to lock the doors and windows of the classroom, until the situation is under police control. I repeat, locking all doors and windows until further instructions."
The teacher told the students in the class to stay calm. He took the key and locked the classroom door. Then he went around and closed every window, making sure that they were safe and that no one could get in.
One of the little girls raised her hand and asked if she could go to the bathroom. The teacher did not allow him to leave, but the girl insisted.
The teacher eventually relented and gave permission to go to the toilet. After all according to him, it was unlikely that the killer would come to school.
He told the girl, when he came back, he had to give a secret knock on the classroom door.
Then they'll know that it's him and they can let him back. The code is 3x the knock and 2x the scratch on the door.

The girl left the classroom to go to the bathroom and the teacher locked the door behind her.
In order to calm the children from the frightening situation, he began to tell stories. After 20 minutes had passed and the girl still had not returned, the teacher started to worry.
"What took him so long" he wondered.
Suddenly, they could hear footsteps in the corridor. Everyone in the class was silent. Then they heard a voice at the door:

and

He walked, took the key.
"What if it wasn't him" asked one of the shivering children in fear.
Teacher hesitated, the key was only a few inches away from the keyhole.
Again they heard a voice at the door:

The teacher puts the key in the door and opens it.
Suddenly, the classroom door burst open and a tall man stood there. In his right hand, he held a knife and in his left hand, he held the severed head of the little girl.
The killer walks into the classroom, smiling from ear to ear. The kids are trapped inside. All screams of fear could be heard in the school corridor as terror and screams of agony.
In the chaos, the teacher managed to break the window and jump out. He barely escaped and crawled to safety. The kids, however, were not so lucky.
When the police arrived, they found the killer sitting in the middle of the classroom. The floors, walls and ceilings were covered in blood. Small body parts scattered around him. Every child has been chopped up in class into small pieces.
They found the headless body of the little girl in the third bathroom. The police know what might have happened, actually, a cold October day.
The escaped prisoner must have been hiding in the toilet when the little girl asked permission to go to the bathroom.
He must have been surprised and forced her to give him a secret code. When he did, he cut off his head.
Today, the young teacher is in a mental hospital. He never recovered from the incident and could not stop repeating again and again: he said:
"Press tap tap. Corat ... Tap tap tap. Corat coret ... "
The school was abandoned because parents refused to send their children there.
Too many bad memories.
All that remains is a story when the murder happened. They say that if you visit the old school building and get into the classroom, you can still see blood still dripping down the wall.
If you are brave enough, you can even go to the bathroom. Just knocked three times and scratched twice on the third door. Then open. You will see the headless body of the little girl sitting on the toilet.
