William Kemp hated his wife. They had been married for 20 years and he was tired of hearing nagging voices at her. He was sick of listening to her criticize and demean her every day.
He was fed up with the way he commanded him as if he were a slave. William intended to get rid of his wife once and for all.
He planned everything perfectly. When his wife came home that night, he put groceries in the fridge and told her husband to start cooking dinner.
Instead, William says he has a surprise for her. He knew his wife loved surprises.
"In the basement," he said with a smile.
As his wife walked down the stairs, into the dark basement, William took a butcher knife from the kitchen drawer and followed her.
A few minutes later, he wiped the sweat off his forehead. He never thought of dismembering a woman's body. There are six pieces consisting of, head, arms, legs and chest.
He carefully wrapped each piece piece in newspaper and tied it neatly with a rope.
When finished, there are six neat pieces. William put it in deep freeze. Then, he closed the door and locked it.
After mopping the basement floor, he went back upstairs to wash the butcher knife in the kitchen sink.
Leaning back in his chair, William heaved a sigh of relief.
He's free.
If anyone asked, he would tell them that his wife had run off with another man. No one would have guessed that he was in the underground freezer.
He's starting to fall asleep. The house is peaceful and quiet ...
very quiet ...
except, there was a crashing sound.
Suddenly, William woke up. He thought it was just a dream, but it seemed too real. His heart was pounding and sweat was dripping down his face. He opened the kitchen drawer and took out a butcher knife.
Then, he returned to the basement to check the deep freeze.
It's still securely locked. He'll come back upstairs when he sees something on the floor. Making a cold stab at his spine. It's a bloody newspaper.
William opened the deep freeze and looked inside. In horror, he realized that it was empty.
All six pieces are missing.
As he stood there in a stunned silence, he thought he saw something moving from the corner of his eye. A shadow on the floor behind him. He turned around, but there was nothing there.
Just then, he heard a click and the lights in the basement went off. He's in the dark. Then, he heard a rustling sound.
It came closer and closer until it seemed to come from all sides. He's surrounded.
William started swinging the wild meat knives in all directions of the wall. In the darkness, he could see nothing. Everything he could hear was rustling a horrible newspaper.
Then, suddenly, something crept between his legs. He felt an ice-cold finger holding his neck.
He tried to scream but no sound came out. Something grabbed the butcher's knife from his hand and he felt the finger on his neck tighten, strangling him to unconsciousness.
It wasn't until a week later that police searched the basement. They open the deep freeze and, they find William's body frozen lifeless and surrounded by his wife's dismembered body parts.
