Cain walked leisurely towards the Achromos room. He did not forget to sing his favorite children's songs. At this time his mood is happy because he can't wait to see how Achromos reacts if he knows Chroma is conscious.
From inside the room, Achromos could already hear Cain's flat, discordant voice. He sighed and stopped himself for a moment from his busy life. Before long, the door of the room was knocked.
"Your Majesty, I'm Cain—"
"I knew. Get in." Come in." Cut Achromos.
Cain looked into the room and found Achromos, who was staring at him, folding his hands to his chest.
"What's wrong?" Ask Achromos.
Cain stepped up and stood before Achromos and saluted.
"Your Majesty, there is good news for you." Cain.
"What good news?" Ask Achromos. "If it doesn't matter, you just go."
Achromos felt suspicious about the good news Cain meant after hearing his senandung earlier. Usually Cain hummed and said there was good news if he found a small cat, found a colorful glass stone— which is currently his collection— in the palace garden, the palace garden, or find a strange insect he's never seen before. Of course, these experiences make Achromos not expect high good news brought by Cain.
Cain's eyes were rounded, revealing his glittering binar.
"Queen Jane.." He said, "getting sober."
Achromos got up from his seat and looked sharply at Cain. Cain's eyes sparkled more than usual. It clucked. With wide strides, he stepped towards the eastern castle accompanied by Cain behind him.
Why is Cain always slow in telling?? Inner irritated.
•••
The sound of knocking on the door made Chroma's closed eyes slowly open. He sat down on his bed weakly.
Wh who? That crazy king? Ask in the heart.
Before long, the door of the room opened, revealing a male figure with jet-black hair that dangled down to the waist. The man smiled. Chroma squinted her eyes—trying to guess who the person standing in the doorway was.
"Hello, Queen Jane." Greet the man as he approached Chroma. His thin body stepped slowly and sat down next to Chroma.
"Yes-Your Highness Chlari?" Chroma said after realizing who the man was. "Why are you here?"
Chlari smiles. He then rubbed Chroma cheek slowly— making Chroma feel unusually uncomfortable and immediately avoid that touch.
What the fuck is this guy?? His inner.
"I think it's necessary for me to meet my sister's wife, don't you? Moreover, you just got hit by a disaster. As long as you're unconscious, I occasionally come to look." Chlari Timpal.
This guy somehow makes me uncomfortable. Chroma in the heart.
"Oh, so. Of course, Your Majesty. Forgive my impoliteness. Thank you for looking at me." Chroma said with a smile.
"Pff!" Chlari covered her mouth with her hands, holding back laughter at Chroma's words. Chroma squinted her forehead.
Why is he laughing?
Chlari stopped her laughter and stared fixedly at Chroma. He then brought his mouth closer to Chroma's ear, letting his breath touch Chroma's neck which was tickling but making Chroma shudder.
"You're not good at theatrics, little fox." Chlari Whispe. He then moved his face away from Chroma and held both of his cheeks with a smile.
Chroma. His eyes were shocked. Chlari knows his identity! Disguise exposed?? If Chlari finds out, there's a good chance someone else knows too. But, how could Chlari know his identity?
Chroma swallowed a spit that felt like a pebble in her throat. His heart was pounding fast and his breathing began to hunt. He wanted to run away from this place as quickly as possible, yet his body was still very weak.
Chlari again chuckled at Chroma's frantic facial expression. He then patted Chroma's head slowly, the thing that Chroma did not expect would be done by him.
"Just calm down, I won't tell anyone." Chlari.
Chroma looked at Chlari in doubt. It was impossible for Chlari to keep her identity secret without giving a condition. Chroma was very sure of that. What's more Chlari's smile from the start is very suspicious.
"I won't ask for anything weird, just calm down." Limpal Chlari, as if he could read Chroma's mind.
"What do you want?" Ask Chroma.
"I want you to be my friend." Said.
"Huh?" Ask Chroma wonder. Chroma did not expect it to come out of Chlari's mouth. A fella? Is Chlari so lonely that she has to threaten him— subtly— to be her friend?
Chlari again chuckled at Chroma who was gawking. Chroma felt a little annoyed with Chlari who was as if toying with her. But at a glance, he could catch a hint of sadness in Chlari's eyes.
"Hm.. Alright." Chroma replied after weighing for a while. After all, there was no harm in being friends with someone in this super big castle. Chlari smiled happily.
"Then, from now on you should call me Chlari and we should meet every day." Added.
I don't know why Chroma regretted her decision. He really could not guess what was on Chlari's mind. He always put on the same smile and said unexpected things. Chroma again felt this would be something troublesome.
"okay." Chroma said at last.
Chlari showed an increasingly wide smile and clasped Chroma's hand tightly. He rubbed Chroma's cheek again.
BRACKET!
The sound of the door opening suddenly made the two look up. In the doorway, Achromos stood with a surprised face. Behind him, Cain looked up with his flat face. The four then did not budge for a moment.
Once silent, Achromos quickly approached Chlari and pulled her away from Chroma. A glint of anger was seen in his eyes. He pushed Chlari out of the room by force.
"Go from here!" Guram. Chlari who was smug and almost fell finally regained his balance.
"Huff! I almost fell. Next time slow down, little brother." Chlari said with a smile. Achromos. He really did not like the smile Chlari always put it, making himself unable to read what was on his mind.
"Why are you here?" Ask Achromos ketus.
"I just went to see your wife who just came to her senses after a disaster, was it wrong?" Ask Chlari.
Achromos is back. It makes sense in normal situations. But the relationship between Achromos and Chlari is not at all normal. Cold war they did—or Achromos, more precisely—has been going on since they were children. Although Chlari always does things that are seen in the glasses of others as a "normal" thing in family relationships, for Achromos it is only a sign that Chlari is planning something. However, Achromos could not do anything bad to his brother. He could be put to death if found hurting Chlari.
"Go away." Achromos said, closing the door hard.
Chlari who was driven from Chroma's room only laughed a little at her sister who looked very angry. He realized, Achromos and Chroma will have an unusual relationship. He then slowly stepped into his room.
I won't be that easy to hand over my little fox to you, Achromos. He's my new friend. Inner Chlari.
Achromos clenched his hands tightly. He then approached Chroma quickly and held her hand firmly.
"Why did you let him in??" Exclaims.
Chroma grimaced slowly. The power of Achromos is so powerful that it can make him in pain with just a grip.
"His Highness Chlari came without telling him who he was! I guess it's you, Your Majesty!" Reply Chroma.
Achromos. He could not blame Chroma for what he saw. But still it made him very angry.
"Next time, don't let him in! I'll move you to the western castle! Don't ever see her again!" Achromos commands while releasing his grasp.
Chroma was amazing to want to protest, but she had to be a submissive princess due to the demands of her role. With a heavy heart he nodded. Just a second after nodding, he immediately remembered his promise with Chlari.
Lothawat! What am I supposed to do? Chroma in the heart.
Chroma looked at Achromos— hoping she could refuse his orders—but Achromos' sharp gaze made her undo her intentions.
"Your Majesty Jane, you're gray."
"Luck!" Chroma was surprised not to play as soon as she found Cain's face right next to her face. His heart is beating ungodly. Cain's existence was completely undetectable for a while. Does Cain have a thin presence or a dull Chroma instinct?
Chroma immediately pulled out her hair held by Cain.
"You-maybe because I was stressed from the attack back then, Prince Cain." Answer Chroma origin.
Cain stared at Chroma— with his flat gaze—closely. He then moved away and lowered his head. Chroma really didn't understand what Cain was doing just now. Checking grey hair?? Looking lice?? Chroma shook her head, feeling like she gave up trying to understand Cain. Meanwhile, Achromos just stared at the two of them expressionlessly, then patted Chroma on the forehead.
"Don't think too much about the assault case, just leave it to me." He told Chroma who was gawking. Chroma could only nod before Cain gawked away from his room and Achromos immediately asked the maid to move Chroma from that room.
