Chroma and Achromos

Chroma and Achromos
Chapter 13: The Danger

Cain held his breath so as not to be heard by some people who were talking not far from where he was standing. He hides behind a wall, trying his best not to make a sound. His heart is beating pretty fast. No matter how flat, this situation can make anyone tense—not least Cain.

It had been ten minutes that Cain was standing in his place, watching the five people wearing the black robe. After a long investigation, he finally reached there, inside an ancient temple ruins located under the soil of the Phixa Kingdom. When Cain was combing the contents of the temple, they suddenly appeared— made Cain surprised and ended up in his hiding place.

"So? No reaction yet?" Said one of them.

"Yet, maybe the effect is slow. You know for yourself that guy is Xerra." Reply to another.

"Hm, that's right. To make him faint is hard not to play."

"Where is he, by the way? Long time!"

"It's usually too late, right?"

"But it's been a long time!"

"We'll just wait in the usual place."

Cain peeked softly and squinted his eyes as they began to move. He then gasped to see a familiar figure among them. He closed his mouth which was almost speaking quickly.

I. I must tell Brother Achro! Inner Cain.

Cain waited until they all stepped up. He then peeked, trying to ascertain their whereabouts to find a gap to escape. Cain's face paled as soon as he found them entering the room not far from there. The door of the room was left open. Cain swallowed his saliva which felt like a pebble with great difficulty. He's trapped.

The only way out, right across the door from the room.

Achromos tapped his finger on the table anxiously. Since Cain went to investigate something, he had not heard at all. Cain is a tulalit, but when it comes to investigation, no one is as smart as Cain. In fact, Cain was a genius investigator. He is able to hide his existence perfectly so that he is able to get very important information. He is also able to solve difficult cases quickly like a famous detective. But, there were consequences of his great ability.

Cain's fighting ability will drastically decrease when he is focused on the investigation.

Don't get me wrong. Under normal circumstances, the sluggish-looking Cain was able to fight one battalion alone. He thinks of himself as playing. But when he thought hard, he was unable to fight as usual. This makes Achromos reluctant to ask Cain to investigate something dangerous, such as the Schatten investigation. So he gets another team of investigators to investigate the case, not ask Cain. What he asked Cain to investigate shouldn't be too dangerous, but why didn't Cain tell him and hasn't come back yet?

Achromos hit his desk in frustration. If anything happens to Cain, he'll lose control. He would not even hesitate to end his own life. During this time, Cain's figure was the only support of her who was so fragile. Only Cain remained by his side. When Achromos lost his way, Cain appeared—reversing something he had buried deeply since his mother died.

Something called family.

"Cain. please don't leave me." Lirih Achromos.

Meanwhile, Chroma pecked in front of the mirror as soon as she accidentally saw an emblem on her stomach. Until yesterday he did not find the emblem on his stomach. His little hand rubbed the emblem slowly. He immediately felt hatred and anger that peaked into the crown. She hated and was angry until she could barely feel anything.

Chroma quickly ran into Achromos' room. His mind was still empty, but he knew what he was doing. Arriving in the room Achromos he immediately opened the door violently, making Achromos aware of his daydream.

"Jane? What's up?" Ask Achromos.

Chroma approached Achromos and looked at him blankly. The usually glittering golden eyeballs were seen dimming. He looks like an emotionless doll. Achromos furrowed his brows. There's something wrong with Chroma.

"You" Chroma said, pointing towards Achromos. "You know what this is?"

Chroma uncovers her nightgown, revealing her belly which is now adorned by a familiar black emblem, a mandala-shaped emblem. Achromos. He immediately approached Chroma and stared at the emblem fixedly.

"This.. how can it?!" Excited wonder.

Chroma pushed Achromos' body back, making him take a few steps back.

"Jane?" Call Achromos wonder.

"Tell me everything you know." Chroma.

"Say or I'll kill you."

"Aahaha! Ahaha! AHAHAHAHAHA!!" Chroma laughed loudly upon hearing all the information given by Achromos.

Achromos looked at Chroma in disbelief. This was not the Chroma he knew. He looks like a different person. Achromos swallowed his saliva. I don't know how long he hasn't been feeling tense. He strongly believes in his instincts. Chroma is very dangerous now. He doesn't know what's really going on, but he does provide information about Schatten, including their attack on Chroma. But Achromos didn't give him all the information he had.

"So so.." Chroma Mumbles. "So, this time too will all be annihilated?"

Also? Achromos.

"Jane, calm yourself. Explain to me, what happened?" Ask a little tensely.

"Clear? Calm down? HOW CAN I POSSIBLY CALM DOWN!!" Chroma screamed loudly to make Achromos back a few steps back.

"You don't understand.. You don't understand.." Lirih Chroma while holding her head with both hands. Tears just burst out of his eyes.

"Asha.. Ash's.. Ii'm sorry.. I'm sorry.." Mumbled.

Ash's? I thought Ash was human. Achromos.

"Jane," Call Achromos while trying to get close to Chroma.

"DON'T CALL ME JANE!!" Chroma screamed again until Achromos stopped his steps.

"Don't call me Jane.." Chroma.

"I understand. I'm not calling you Jane. I get it." Achromos again stepped closer to Chroma sobbing. With great care, he grabbed onto Chroma's tiny vibrating body. Achromos had no idea what was happening, but he knew that if Chroma was left alone, he would be destroyed. In pieces. Until it is not there.

"I'm here for you." Whisper Achromos while rubbing Chroma's head gently.

Chroma's sobs are becoming. Without hesitation he hugged Achromos tightly and cried roaring. I don't know how long he's been holding all this. What harm did he have to accept such a cruel reality? Why can't he ever be happy? Why do they have to come back? Wh why?

"I. A. I'm tired.." Isak Chroma with great difficulty.

"I understand. You no longer need to try. You've tried enough. It's time for you to take a break, isn't it?" Achromos.

"That.. rahat?" Chroma.

"Yes, you need to rest. I'll take you on a picnic to the Kingdom of Mollis. There's a beautiful flower field, you know? The flowers are so many, more than the flowers in the greenhouse." Celeste Achromos.

At that time, Achromos would never have thought about what would come out of Chroma's mouth.

"Achromos. please.."

"kill me."

A person in black robes walked in the dark passage made of stone, making the stomping of his shoes sound a little echoing. A faint smile spread across his face. In twenty-four hours, something he had been waiting for would begin.

Everything went according to his plan.
