"Don't you have to tell me the reason, so I can consider your desire to marry me?"
"You don't have to, consider it. I just want to hear you say 'Yes'."
"Mr forced me?" Sarah raised her voice.
"Yes, because we're getting married just a contract, not as real as you think."
Sarah widens.
"contract only? So, you don't have feelings for me?"
Ervan chuckles at hearing that, love? Since when, love became the benchmark in proposing this woman? If he had just a little feeling, of course he wouldn't just dump the girl. To date, he has not found a girl worthy of his love.
“Of course, I don't have that feeling. I invite you to get married just for a business that will benefit both of us.”
“Business? What do you mean by Father?”
“I want you to be my wife, because your son's face is similar to mine. We'll just get married on a contract basis, I'll give you what you want. Instead, act as the lover I dumped to convince both my parents.”
Sarah smiled bitterly, she was too prejudiced by the man in front of her. His mind had soared far into the clouds, again crashing violently on the ground. He thinks two years can change a person, no, he does not change, he is still the same as before, always running away from responsibility. Sarah looked at Ervan, trying to hide her thin smile.
This time, you'll kneel to me
Sarah got up from her sitting position, pushed the infusion pole, then slowly climbed onto the bed laying down her body. He turned his back to Ervan, choosing his son who was fast asleep.
“Why you? You refused?” asked Ervan who was still sitting on the sofa watching Sarah walk away leaving her with no answer.
“Sorry, Sir. My head is a bit dizzy, so I'm going to lie down for a while. Regarding the offer of the father, I will think about it.”
“Alright, I'll be back tomorrow.”
Ervan left the room, without getting the answer she wanted, she had to wait until the sun rose tomorrow. Meanwhile, Sarah of course deliberately stall for longer, making Ervan plead for his help. After running away from responsibility and making his life suffer, he came to ask her to marry just like that, without any apology. Don't dream, Sarah keeps snorting resentfully in her heart.
Ervan walks with Tirta, meeting Alan who is on duty in the ER. From a distance, Alan looked relaxed, not a patient at the moment, he was just busy pacing his assistants.
“Cute, i.”
Ervan pulls Alan's hand, without waiting for the owner's approval. Alan's steps were dragged following Ervan's footsteps who took him out of nowhere.
“What's up? Why do you two always bother me?” alan protest.
“He rejected me.”
“Who rejected you? That lady? That woman rejected you? Hahaha..”.
PLAQUES
A loud punch landed on his arm. Alan rubbed his throbbing arm, looking at Tirta who was laughing at him and glaring at Ervan who was always hitting her body.
“Why do you always hit me? You're like my father but you're more ruthless. My dad only hits me once a year. But, you, you do it every day, even 3x a day.”
“Alan, quiet.” Tirta pointed at Ervan's face with the look in his eyes, the currently cold man did not want to play around.
‘Ehm’ Alan is back in serious mode fixing his voice intonation. Then, continue their conversation.
“What did you tell him? You didn't ask her to marry you, Ervan?”
“I instantly said I would marry her and on contract.”
“Shit, it's worth it he refused. You think you're taking her shopping, this is Ervan's marriage. Didn't yesterday's lesson get in your head? What about the formula I taught you?”
“It was too long-winded for me and I didn't want to waste time.”
“Yes, it's up to you. Don't come bothering me anymore, I'd rather teach a bird to speak than teach you.”
Alan just left in a fit of annoyance, his time and energy wasted. He had given Ervan advice, but the head of the rock never listened to him. Doing it his own way, after failing he came asking for help.
The next day....
Tirta picked Ervan up at her residence, this morning she was going to charge Sarah with her answer. During the journey, Ervan was heard muttering in order to compose the sentence he was about to deliver. Practice many times with the movements of his hands that accompany each sentence. Even at the RS, Ervan continued to mutter. I don't know what sentence he composed until it was so long.
Geck...Geck...Geck...
Before stepping inside, Tirta held Ervan's arm, reminding her of Alan's teachings to him.
“Congratulations, noon Sir,” greet Sarah who is carrying her son.
“Papapa,” babble Ersan who looks at his father with a smile showing his dimples.
“Iya, darling. It's Papa.”
Ervan answered immediately, stealing a glance to see the reaction of the woman standing in front of him. Unfortunately, the woman was playing her phone.
Shit, want to play me apparently?
Ervan's eyes flashed, letting out flames of anger, his jaw hardened, his gaze locked on a brave service cleaner who was toying with him. If not the insistence of his parents, he would not invite him to marry let alone take care of his son who is not his flesh and blood. The woman, was only lucky because her son had a face exactly with her. Ervan clenched her hands while walking and stopped right in front of Tamara.
“What are you doing?” With low intonation, restrain the anger that has reached the crown.
“Oh, sorry Sir. I only replied to the message of Viennese mother, because it had been three days I was ditching work. Are you tired, let me take Ersan.”
“Ersan? Name Ersan?” asked Ervan who only found out the name of the girl, but the two had been together for three days.
“Iya, his name is Ersan Anugrah.”
Even his name is similar to mine.
Ervan ignores Sarah and gives Ersan to her nanny, then tells them to leave them both.
“We need to talk?”
“Speaking what, Sir?” Pretending to be stupid is the most powerful weapon, Sarah thought
“Don't beat around the bush and waste my time. Now, what's your answer?”
“Sorry, Sir. I haven't made a decision yet, give me another week.”
“Sunday? You're playing pull with me?”
Ervan pulled Sarah's hand violently, threw her on the sofa, regardless of the infusion needle that was still stuck in the woman's veins. Grabbing Sarah's chin, gripping her and looking at her sharply.
“Listen, I don't like playing with cats. You're a lucky woman who got a marriage offer from me and you should be grateful. I won't wait a second, now what's your answer?”
Sarah just gasped for rough treatment, her tears dripping from the eye fertilizers without realizing it, the pain of the needle drips neglected by him. So, this is the real you, imposing your will and acting rude if not to your liking. Inner Tamara continued to scream in disappointment.
“Sorry, I can't take it.”
“Give me a reason!” Ervan still did not let go of her grip and did not care about the tears flowing down the woman's cheeks.
“I don't want to cheat family, Mr.” Sarah answered while wiping away her tears.
Ervan took off her grip, sat down beside Sarah and looked back at her sharply, though the two female beads refused to meet her.
“Only one year, after that we divorced. I'll cover your entire living expenses and after we split up, I'll compensate for your son's school fees. My parents' problem I'll solve it, you just do your part. Is that enough?”
A year? Don't dream!
“What if your parents, do a DNA test? I don't want to go to jail, Mr.”
“I told you, I'll take care of it. You doubt me?”
Ervan replied resolutely, covering up the anxiety of her heart since her mind had not yet reached that stage. His parents may have imprisoned Sarah for fraud even though she forced him.
“But what if you fail to convince them or what if you are out of town?” sarah's lick that won't make it all feel easy for Ervan.
“I have to answer how many times? You just focus on your role, I will guarantee, what you fear will not happen.”
Damn, why is this woman's mind wandering all the way there? In fact, I haven't even thought about it.
“I'm sorry, Sir. I really can't accept the offer, Father. I'm a little guy, I don't have anyone, I only have children. If I go to jail, what about him?” it was Sarah who made her statement even more sad.
Ervan fell silent, grabbed the bottle of drink on the table, sipped it quickly, soaking his dry throat. He put it down again, looking at Sarah who was down.
“I promise, it won't happen. We'll make a deal that will prove that I forced you. How?”
Sarah kept looking down not answering. His mind continued to wander in search of a counter sentence, to refuse. He did not want to accept Ervan's offer so quickly, the man had to beg him on his knees.
“Alright, I'll give you another day. So, think carefully.”
Ervan finally gave up, walking away leaving the woman who kept hanging him. Now, he had to wait for the answer he wanted.
