Chapter 30 Mama's changed

Ervan's mother has arrived home, she asks the nanny to take the little one away from her. Still in a state of rage, he stepped inside his son's room. The room was empty, because Sarah had not yet returned.

Ervan's mother opened the closet, carefully searching. Finding nothing, he picked up a suitcase tucked away in a closet. The suitcase is outdated, but still well stored.

Inside, there is a map and some old clothes and photo frames. Mom stared for a moment, then put it back down. He took the map and opened it.

His granddaughter's birth certificate, marriage certificate, home certificate on Sarah's behalf, passbook and covenant letter.

Mama took a piece of the paper, read it carefully. Both eyes widened, he covered his mouth which was almost squealing.

"No, I don't believe it. Ervan, what have you done."

Mama held her dizzy head. Breathe in with tears that have fallen.

"What should I do? Why Ervan, why? Is the woman in your story just a lie? If it's true, you raped a girl, where was she? Why are you bringing someone else?"

Mama is still crying, her son is lying and what makes her even sicker, she already considers Sarah her daughter-in-law and granddaughter whom she already loves so much.

Mama leaned back for a moment, still staring at the contents of the suitcase. A small book caught his attention. He grabbed, opened slowly. There's only a note, which Mama doesn't understand.

"What's this?"

Grab a wallet-sized photo, a photo of a newborn baby boy. Mama opened the notebook again, which turned out to be some photos tucked inside.

Still the same photo, baby boy in different clothes. Finally, a photograph of the man taken from a distance. But his face was still clearly visible.

"German!"

Mama is drowning in misunderstandings. Looking at a photo of her son, she concluded, the woman had targeted her son in advance. He no longer needed DNA testing. Because, everything is so clear.

Mama rearranged the contents of the suitcase, as before. Put it in the closet, like before.

Downstairs, Sarah had just arrived, with her hand carrying a paper bag.

"Bik Sri, where's my son?"

"Sleep, Miss."

Sarah walked up the stairs, walking towards the nursery located beside her room.

"Dear." Smacking his son's head.

In the back, Ervan's mother came in, pretending as if nothing had happened.

"Have you come home?" Approaching the cot, where Sarah was standing. "How's the outfit, does it fit?"

"She, Ma. I just took two."

"Good, put that on when we get to the gravestone next week."

Sarah nodded, looking at her in-laws who stepped out of the room. Unlike usual, she will kiss or disturb her baby while sleeping.

Is your mom tired? Mumbled in the heart, with positive thoughts.

Before long, the door was knocked, the waiter from behind the door asked him to come out for lunch.

"Yes, bik. A moment."

Sarah's out of the room, down the stairs. Ervan's mother was sitting there waiting. He sat down, but there was no movement to start lunch.

"Ma," call Sarah. "do I have permission to go out?"

"Where?"

"I want to go home and make pilgrimages at the graves of my parents and my brother."

Mama was still staring at him, I don't know what to think until so long to give an answer.

"How long?"

"That's only three days."

"Alright, but don't bring my granddaughter."

"Sorry, Ma. But, I have to introduce Ersan to my parents. I haven't introduced them since he was born."

Are you planning on escaping? My mother screamed. Since finding the marriage contract agreement, he has given the stamp there is a son-in-law. He's a con man, that's how he gave his name now.

"Yes, you're gone. Take Ervan with you, let's meet your parents."

"Thank you, Ma."

Sarah's still thinking positively, maybe she's tired or a lot of thoughts. So, her in-laws don't talk much today. But still, he felt strange.

"Bik Sri," called Sarah, as she entered the little one's room.

"What's up, Miss?"

"Sir, where have you been today?"

Sarah walks on the couch, embracing her nanny to sit together.

"Gum take a walk in the park, continue to the house of a friend of the Madam."

"That's all?"

Bik Sri nodded, not knowing what else to answer. Because, Ervan's mother just said so.

Sarah sighed, maybe she thought too much.

"Did anything happen at your friend's house?"

Now bik Sri who was confused, twisted his brain while throwing his eyes out of nowhere. Scratching his non-itchy head, with a contrived smile.

"Bik" call Sarah.

"Sorry, Miss." Forcing smiles. "So I was just sitting in the house. So, don't know what happened."

Seeing Bik Sri bewildered, Sarah could only draw her own conclusions. Maybe all related to him or maybe also, because of the gossip circulating in the office. Her in-laws are embarrassed to have a daughter-in-law like her, who once worked as a cleaning service.

But, didn't his father-in-law already know all about him. In fact perhaps, the only one who did not know of his identity was Ervan. Because, the man still called her by the name of Tamara.

"Bik, I'll go to the room first."

Sarah, step into the next room. When the door opened, he looked at his father-in-law who was sitting waiting on the bed.

"Mama." Slightly flinched, then walked in after closing the door. "Does Mama need anything?"

PLAQUE, PLAQUE,

Sarah held her cheek, looking at the puzzled in-laws.

"Fraud!" Mama stared hard. "Tell me how much Ervan paid you?"

Sarah understood why her mother-in-law had suddenly changed. The rumors that spread made the woman, investigate about her identity.

"Not answered yet!" Mama throws the agreement, lands on Sarah's face.

"Mama found it?" Sarah smiled bitterly.

"Yes, how long you want to cheat on our family."

Sarah tore the paper, scattering it on the floor.

"I never fooled anyone. This letter is your son's request."

"So, leave this house! I don't want to raise a child who's not my son's flesh and blood."

Sarah laughed, shaking her head. Funny too, he thought. But, he felt relieved to be able to leave as soon as possible.

"Mom don't have to kick me out, I'll leave without being asked. But, please tell your son not to forget the deal."

"You." Mom's anger is about to explode. "Women are shameless."

Sarah took her suitcase down, took some of her belongings.

"Don't worry, Madam. I'm not gonna take anything that's not mine."

"Good, if you understand. Soon, you're gone before Ervan gets home."

Mama walked away, on the doorstep she turned back.

"Shall I call you Sarah or Tamara?"

Sarah doesn't care, she's still busy organizing her stuff.

"I accept you without a second thought, to make amends for my son who raped you. But, it turns out you're not the one."

Sarah looked at her in-laws, standing in an upright position.

"He raped me!"
