Black Witch Log-in

Black Witch Log-in
40. Bird Doll

Mount Frieg is believed to have once been a tree so large, so large that the end of the tree pierced the sky. Where the old gods rule until finally there is a big fight that resulted in the apocalypse.

There are many versions of the enemies of the gods during the great war. The teachings of the famous Radiant sect in the central continent said that the opponents of the gods were demons from hell.

Another case with the demons who consider the opponent of the gods is the god itself. They believe if the gods fight for power so that there is a great war that led to the destruction of the earth.

While the belief of savage humans or Beastmen says if the opponents of gods are Titans and Giants. The belief was based on the kingdom of Tamuz which stood on the embankment of the world tree and came to be known as Mount Frieg.

“So there is a kingdom on the mountain?.” I asked Herka after hearing the origin story of Mount Frieg.

“That's how it is, but aren't you from up there? I thought you were from the kingdom of Tamuz.”

My hands continued to carve the bones I got from the giant bird, some parts I cut and carved with runes, everyone was watching me, they were curious about what I was making.

“Now suddenly I was up there.” seeing them confused by my words, I immediately explained if many Travelers like me were appearing all over the world.

“Usually they will appear in a big city or a safe place. But I think it's too unlucky to be moved on top of Mount Frieg.”

When Hektor asked the purpose of the Travelers come to their world, I also answered “Many reasons whether it is just a vacation to enjoy the beauty of the world, I said, or seek wealth and strength to be the best among the Travelers.”

Hunting monsters, entering the dungeon would all be done by Travel to become stronger.

“Are you not afraid of death?.” asked Mr. Butcher after hearing that the Travelers will become stronger and defeat monsters. “No, let's just say the gods have given us the blessing of immortality.” reply.

The story goes on, this time I asked about the winter that lasted for five years in the Jotun continent.

“You remember about the kingdom of Tamuz I previously told you about?.” Herka asked, she was like a grandmother who wanted to tell her granddaughter a fairy tale. I nodded in response as well.

Five years ago the Giants had sailed the seas as Vikings, they came home with the corpse of a sea monster they had hunted as a trophy of ocean conquest.

“It was a sea dragon, I still remember very well the head of the monster was bigger than the port castle.” Hektor said.

The village is the main route connecting the port with Mount Frieg, it caused the group of Giant to visit the village when they returned home.

“Hahaha..I remember the Giants, they love to eat. When visiting this restaurant they always spend a lot of money.” Mr. Butcher laughs when considering the time of the restaurant is still running.

“So what happened to the sea dragon they brought back to the kingdom of Tamuz?.” I asked because I was very curious.

Not unexpectedly if the snow fields that I passed on the first day of playing the game Minvers turned out below there was a secret kingdom. As a gamer I certainly understand that in the kingdom there must be something special waiting to be found.

“True, the sea dragon turned out to be no ordinary monster. I do not know for sure but there are those who say that sea dragons are actually the incarnation of the god.” Herka said that the sea dragons brought by the Giant were the origin of the creation of four disasters that haunt the continent of Jotun.

“From the core of the sea dragon was born four disaster monsters. Starting from Thunder Rooster, Typhon, Frost Giant and the last Ice Queen. They are the ones who caused this continent to experience a long winter.”

Everyone on this frozen continent was sure if the four monsters were defeated then the winter would be over and they would be able to see the sun again.

Talking about the sea dragon core made me remember about the core of the Thunder Rooster that I was currently carrying because no one would accept it.

The monster core was too strong that not everyone could touch it due to the continuous flow of electricity. It is also said if the monster core is easily exploded, especially if the size is getting bigger.

“The essence of such a huge monster will obliterate the entire village in an instant.” said the village chief.

Since no one wants to keep the core of the Thunder Rooster, I keep it in my inventory.

It didn't feel like the night was late, I was done with the work I had been doing since we talked. They were still curious and kept watching me put up every piece of bone I carved.

“Burung?.” said the four confusedly.

“It's just a kid's toy.” I activated the rune on the stuffed bird that makes it move and fly like a real bird.

“Outside bias.” Herka was amazed by my skills on Runecraft growing.

“It will definitely sell expensive if sold.” Sania had always thought about her business as a merchant even though she had been stuck in this village for a few years.

While the men just kept quiet while staring at the birds flying on the ceiling. They seem to be thinking of something. Until not long after the bone bird that I made fell while flying to make it destroyed, everyone was surprised to see it and looked at me.

“It looks like mana energy has been exhausted.” I took every piece of stuffed bird to reassemble. “Nona Estrid, could it be that you created an artificial leg for me?.” Hektor suddenly asked me, hearing that Sania sighed as if giving up.

“Yes I can.”

“HAH you can!.”

It was not Hektor but Sania who acted with great fanfare upon hearing my reply, even the Butcher and Herka masters looked very enthusiastic.

‘It looks like Hektor is well liked by the villagers’

“I can make artificial legs that can function like real feet. But the problem is that the runes I made are taking too much care of which energy, if you use a tool that I will make fear you can not use.”

I showed the stuffed bird that only lasted for one minute even though I had filled seventy percent of the energy I had.

“The weakness in this doll lies in the blood used to carve Runes right?.” asked Herka the teacher who taught me to make Runes.

“That's right teacher, is there perhaps something that can replace blood as ink makes runes?.”

“Of course, you can use silver or gold. But the best way to make runes is a mineral called Lapis Azuli.”

Herka was so excited when telling about her desire to at least once make a rune with Lapis Azuli, “That is the dream of every Runecraft.” he said.

After hearing my conversation with Herka, Sania immediately left the restaurant in a hurry, seeing that Hektor tried to intercept her as if he knew what the lady had in mind, which was, but he couldn't because of his deformed legs.

Not long after, Sania came with a wooden box containing three gold and fifty silver pieces. “I hope this is enough to make a foot for Hektor.” Sania's words make Hektor very angry, he says he does not want to be loved.

“Bring again all that money, you will need it if the bridge is rebuilt.” snapped the limp youth.

“But when? We've been waiting three years but no one's come here. If we just keep waiting then there will be nothing left. We will go back to hunger and one by one will freeze to death.” with tears Sania snapped at Hektor, the young man was not able to return his words.
