Bamboo Flute Swordsman

Bamboo Flute Swordsman
Chapters 6. Start Practicing

"What makes you want to be a swordsman, Jaka?" ask Resi Danurwinda.

"I want to avenge my mother's father's death kek." replied Jaka innocently.

Resi Danurwinda just smiled at Jaka's answer, then he asked again, "What do you think caused thousands of warriors in the Surasena Kingdom area to besiege and want to finish off grandfather?".

Jaka just silently did not answer, hesitating about what he was thinking.

"It all happened because of revenge, they were vengeful to grandfather for what grandfather had done to them in the past.

Revenge can blind the human heart, no longer able to distinguish what is right and what is wrong.

Revenge is like a vicious cycle, endless.

If you want to become a swordsman and finish them off, is everything finished?

Not yet, their relatives, their friends will go looking for you Jaka, they will demand revenge for the death of their brothers. And so on until this world is destroyed with vengeance." Resi Danurwinda at length advises Jaka.

Jaka was again just silent, contemplating the advice of his teacher.

"Then.. I gotta how's the cake? My mother's father died at their hands, am I just keeping the cake?" jaka asked, his face holding back the sadness.

"You must be sincere Jaka, this is all of the will of Sang Hyang Widhi." replied Resi Danurwinda.

"Then what is the purpose of grandfather being a swordsman?" ask Jaka again.

"Defend the weak and eradicate evil" replied Resi Danurwinda reassured.

"Okay cake, I will follow grandfather's advice." replied Jaka.

The next day in front of a simple bamboo hut, the procession of Jaka's appointment to become a disciple of Resi Danurwinda was underway. Though Resi Danurwinda has refused many times this procession, but Jaka still kekeh want to carry it out. Finally Resi Danurwinda also relented and followed the wishes of his prospective students. This procession was witnessed by several pairs of birds singing unpretentiously, as if they were happy for the ongoing procession.

"Today the student swears to study and practice earnestly, to be devoted to the teacher, and to keep the good name of the teacher, if the student violates let the teacher and the heavens punish the disciple." jaka said in a kneeling position, his palms were held together in front of his chest while bowing his head three times.

"Wake up Jaka, teacher take your respect." replied Resi Danurwinda while helping Jaka stand up.

"Thank you teacher." replied Jaka while smiling happily.

As of today, Jaka had officially become a disciple of the Danurwinda Rishis and vowed to obey every teaching of his teacher.

After the procession was completed, Resi Danurwinda invited Jaka to find a wider training ground and also to avoid the reach of the population. Resi Danurwinda and Jaka ran towards the top of the mountain behind the forest where they lived. Resi Danurwinda deliberately asked Jaka to run to train his physical endurance.

As a swordsman, Resi Danurwinda was well aware that a strong physique was very important. No matter how great a technique or skill is mastered by a swordsman, if it is not supported by a strong physique, all of it will be in vain in a fight.

If not for running back and forth from the village to the forest, Jaka might not have been able to run this far. Resi Danurwinda was amazed by the physical strength of Jaka, even though Jaka was 12 years old.

Upon their arrival at the top of the mountain, Resi Danurwinda plans to add a portion of training for Jaka.

"Teacher, can students take a break?" pinta Jaka with breath gasping.

"Alright Jaka, rest for a while, and after that continue the journey by running again." replied the teacher who was followed by a nod of the head by the student.

He sat down and drank water to quench his thirst. After drinking enough, then Jaka lay his body on the grass.

His gaze began to twitch, he was unsure of being able to reach the top of the mountain. But Jaka does not want to disappoint his teacher, as much as possible he will try to reach the limit of his body strength. Jaka rested while looking at his teacher who was sitting cross-legged with his eyes closed.

Jaka felt that he had enough rest, the sun began to lean towards the west. Jaka tells his teacher that he is ready to continue the journey, and the two finally run back.

Not long after that they arrived at the mountain slope, the slope was extremely steep. Along the slopes it stretches rocks from small to the size of a hill there. The pair of teachers and students paused for a moment, set their breath and thought of the best way to get through the slope.

For Resi Danurwinda of course this slope is not a significant obstacle, he was even able to pass this slope in just a few breaths.

Resi Danurwinda glanced at Jaka and thought, "It is very dangerous for Jaka when forcing himself through this slope, he has not mastered the style of lightening the body... ".

Finally Resi Danurwinda decided to pass through this slope by lifting the collar of Jaka's shirt while flying jumping from one stone to another. Jaka who was shocked could only resign, he felt like a kitten that would be discarded by its owner.

Resi Danurwinda deliberately did not fly at high speed, he was worried that Jaka could not withstand the pressure of the wind and instead endanger the lives of his students.

After quite a long time finally both of them had been at the end of the slope. Resi Danurwinda also released the handle on the collar of Jaka's shirt, and as a result Jaka fell down with a prone position. Resi Danurwinda laughed when she saw Jaka grimacing in pain.

"Haha.. Jaka, you should have jumped so as not to fall nyungsep." ledek the teacher.

"Argh.. " Jaka just grimaced with the pain of ignoring the teasing of his teacher. His bones were sore, it felt like he had fallen from a tree.

"Teacher, have we reached the top?" ask Jaka.

"Not yet, it seems like a little while. Look, the sun is almost sinking, we have to hurry before nightfall. Jaka, pay attention to the direction of the top of the mountain, the teacher will go there first and you must follow soon, do you understand Jaka?" ask the teacher.

"Good teacher, the student understands." replied Jaka while nodding.

When Jaka looked ahead, his teacher was already nowhere to be. Jaka thought his teacher had gone to the top, though,

"Hmm. quickly also the teacher disappeared." muttered Jaka.

After feeling his body better, Jaka immediately went on a running trip. Not infrequently he fell awake due to tripping branches or branches of fallen trees. However, it does not dampen the spirit of Jaka in the least. Without Jaka noticing, there was a pair of eyes watching him from afar.
