23. Take Me with You

"Sir, thank you for taking me to this hospital. I don't know what would have happened if Mbak hadn't come on time, I'm totally indebted. Now Ma'am better just go home, I'm fine, I don't want anyone to know about my current whereabouts. If anyone asks about me, just say it like I said!" anika said to Tuti, Suherman's confidante who has been devoted since Anika's late mother was alive. She was the woman's favorite servant.

"Well Non, but where are you going after this? Non's condition is still weak," asked Tuti nodding in agreement.

"Mbak doesn't have to worry, I can take good care of myself. I'm not the weak person they thought I was. Let me disappear first, I will return when the time has come." Anika replied with complete confidence.

"Alright, but Non has to be careful. They can't just shut up when they find out that Non suddenly disappeared from the house" Tuti said.

"Hm... I see," Anika nodded weakly, her neck still hurting from the accident earlier.

After Tuti left the room, Anika quickly grabbed her iPhone which was still in the bag. Luckily the bag did not fall when Anika was rushed to the hospital, there was a copy of the recording she had copied.

However, now Anika is even confused about where to go in this condition. He had no one else but Suherman who was his own real father.

Anika could not go home in this condition, it was the same as delivering life to the lion's den.

Inevitably, Anika is forced to ask Alvian for help. That man was the only one Anika could trust for now. Although sometimes Alvian is very annoying, but Anika believes the father of one child is a good person.

Anika then pressed the emergency button that was above her head. Without Alvian's contact number, she was forced to ask the nurse for help.

Not long after, a beautiful nurse dressed in all white came into his room. The nurse asked Anika's complaint but the girl shook her head weakly. He does not need medical attention, but he needs other help.

Anika explained everything to the nurse. Since recently Amara was also admitted to the same hospital, the automatic administration section still stores the patient's parental data. Anika asks the nurse to contact Alvian to come see her at the hospital, Anika reasoned that Alvian was her brother.

After the nurse confirmed her request, Anika blinked and heaved a sigh of relief. He hoped that Alvian would not be angry at his refusal and would meet him.

"Excuse me, Sus, what room is the patient named Anika in?" alvian asked a nurse who had accidentally run into him.

On the way home from the restaurant, Alvian suddenly received a call from the hospital. Without a second thought, he turned the steering wheel in the opposite direction, he was really worried after hearing the explanation from the nurse on the phone earlier.

"Second floor, VIP room no 105." replied the nurse, it happened that she herself had contacted Alvian at Anika's request.

"Well Sus, then thank you." Alvian cupped his hands in front of his chest, then ran towards the elevator which was quite far from his sight.

After successfully entering the elevator and stopping on the second floor, Alvian scattering looking for room 105 as the nurse said below. He passed through several rooms before finally catching the number 105 attached to the door leaf.

Yes, without knocking first, Alvian just pushed the glass door wide open. The look in her eyes was towards Anika who was also looking at her. The girl lay weakly on top of the gurney with a sad look without movement.

"Anika.." exclaimed Alvian with a gasping breath, his heartbeat suddenly racing against the blood flow that spread very fast.

"Sir" Anika said with teary eyes. Somehow she wanted to cry after seeing Alvian coming, but she tried to hold it all her heart.

After closing the door, Alvian walked over to Anika. His eyes had moved to and fro but saw no one there. Alvian thought there would be a husband-to-be Anika accompanying her.

Then Alvian stood next to the gurney and watched Anika intimately, his heart suddenly slipped looking at Anika's facial water which harbored a lot of sadness.

Anika shook her head weakly, she just cried as she grabbed Alvian's hand and grasped it tightly.

Alvian himself seemed confused by frowning and then ventured to touch the head of Anika.

That's where Anika's cry became more and more so. He felt he did not deserve such attention from the man he had already rejected outright. He felt stupid for leaving Alvian for the sake of those bastard men who had hurt him to this extent.

"I'm sorry, sir. I'm really sorry," said Anika sobbing.

"Sstt... What the hell are you saying? You're not wrong" Alvian's hose calmed Anika down, then wiped away the trail of tears on the girl's cheeks.

Instead of easing up, Anika even more sobbing until as much as she wanted. He thought Alvian would scold him, apparently not at all. Alvian was very gentle with him.

"Here, don't cry anymore!" Alvian rubbed Anika's head as she always did Amara while crying.

For a moment Anika fell silent enjoying the touch of Alvian's hand, this time she felt very comfortable on the man's side. Not long after, he opened his voice. "Please get me out of here, please!" the door with a glare.

Alvian who heard that suddenly distanced his hand and retreated one step. The request felt heavy for her, she did not want Amara to be even more disappointed if she brought Anika home, at the end of which the girl would leave them again.

"I'm sorry, I can't" said Alvian, throwing his face away, unable to look at the girl's face.

Anika suddenly smiled bitterly, already she guessed that Alvian would reject her after what happened between them.

"It's nothing, I don't want Amara getting hurt. He's been expecting you so much that he hates even his own real father. He has suffered too much for your loss, I can't bear to give him any more false hopes. Soon you will be married, Amara will not be able to accept this." explained Alvian.

"Then what about Dad? Are you willing?" anika asked with an unusual look.

"Come on, I seem to have gone numb." replied Alvian shrugging.

"Why? Is it because your love was rejected?" ask Anika again.

"I don't know" Alvian booed.

"Does that mean my chances are no more?" Anika knitted her eyebrows.

"What are you saying, Anika? Remember, soon you're getting married, you better focus on your marriage!" alvian's already overwhelmed hose answered Anika's question. "Yes, I'm home first, I hope you'll get well soon." Alvian walked to the door.

"Don't go, don't leave me!" exclaimed Anika flailing Alvian with a hand, she tried to move and get down from the gurney but...

"Bug..."

"Let's..."

Anika screamed as her body collapsed on the floor, her head hit the iron gurney and spit out a little blood.

Alvian who heard the loud bang turned around and round his eyes wide, he ran after Anika and was stunned on the floor so panicked. He took Anika to his chest and hugged her tightly.
