Aini's Heart Journey

Aini's Heart Journey
Anger

"No. I won't accept this offer." Answer Heni quickly.

Everyone looked at Heni questioningly. Including Ratri, who was stared at sharply by his own mother. Ratri finally lowered his head after seeing his mother's angry gaze.

"Sorry Mrs Heni. If I may know, why did you reject this proposal?" Ask Suharti curiously.

"I will not marry my daughter to a married man. Especially if his wife is Aini. I wouldn't approve." Heni replied sure.

"But Ma," Sela Ratri said.

"But why? Have you lost your mind and conscience in your six years in Singapore?" Angry Heni.

Ratri.

"You may want to marry Aini's husband. Did you forget, you can sit here now, also because of Aini? And now, you want to disturb the household? Where's your brain, Ratri?" Enraged Heni harder.

Adit and his parents were shocked to hear Heni's words. They don't understand what Heni's saying.

"What your mama said Ratri. How can you disturb the household of the person who saved your life. Where's your conscience?" Arif is a little angry.

Ratri could not escape. What his parents said was true. Because indeed, Aini once saved his life before he left for Singapore. But he also cannot escape the fact that he slept with Adit a few days ago.

"Can we talk to you for a second, sir, ma'am'?" Sela Aini soft.

Arif and Heni turned to Aini questioningly. They look at each other.

"Something Aini wants to say." Aini Imbuh.

"Of course Honey. Come on!" Sahut Heni was attentive.

Arif and Heni stood up immediately. Heni immediately took Aini's hand who had just given Umar to his father. They walked to the dining room not far from the living room.

"What's Aini? Do you have a problem with your husband? Why did Adit's parents ask Ratri?" Heni asked at length after they sat down.

"There's no problem, ma'am, with Mas Adit. Our house is fine." Answer Aini with a chest that starts to tighten.

"Then? Why did you let your husband ask Ratri? Did he ask you directly?" Ask Heni again.

"Sorry sir, ma'am, if Aini is presumptuous. But, can Aini ask for something?"

"certain Son. You never asked for anything from us this whole time. Ask! We will definitely try to fulfill it." Say Arif while gently rubbing Aini's arm.

Such is the love of Arif and Heni for Aini. They loved Aini so sincerely. Moreover, after Aini donated one kidney to Ratri seven years ago.

They did not hesitate to give all his property to Aini for helping Ratri who was in a critical condition because his kidneys could not survive at that time. They've been trying to find a kidney donor, but haven't had one for months. Until finally, Aini voluntarily donated one kidney to save the life of her best friend since childhood.

"Here please, don't be angry at Ms Ratri and accept this proposal. For the good of both families." Say Aini with a tightened chest.

"What do you mean, son? You want to part with your husband?" Tanya Arif was confused.

"Of course not sir."

"Then? Why do you want us to accept this proposal?" Tanya Arif was confused.

"Did anything happen between Adit and Ratri?" Terka Heni without hesitation.

Aini and Arif immediately turned to Heni. Heni stared questioningly and anxiously at Aini. Aini immediately lowered her head.

Aini then nodded small.

"Geez!"

Arif and Heni looked at each other.

"What happened, son? Tell me!" Pinta Arif fast.

"Did Adit harass Ratri?" Terka Heni's.

Aini silently did not answer. He tried to find as fine a sentence as possible to explain to both Ratri's parents what had happened to Adit and Ratri. And of course, he also tried his hardest so as not to remove the clear circle from his eyelids, which might invite anger from Ratri's parents.

"Did Ms Ratri not come home recently, ma'am'?" Ask Aini slowly.

Heni tried to remember what Aini asked.

"Yes. The night Ratri had his High School reunion. Why Honey? Did you meet her that night?" Sahut Heni curious.

"No Ma'am'. Aini met with Ms Ratri the next morning."

"really? Why didn't Ratri tell you? Usually, he tells me when he meets you. Where did you meet?"

"Aini Bu's house'."

"Ratri stopped by your house early in the morning after the hotel?"

"Hotel?"

"Yes. Ratri said that night he was staying at a nearby hotel from where the reunion was held, because his car broke down. He didn't dare call a cab because it was late."

"No, ma'am'."

"You mean?"

"Mbak Ratri stayed at Aini's house that night." Honest Aini.

"really? Why did Ratri say he was staying at the hotel?" Heni asked confusedly.

"Shortly Son! You said earlier, you met Ratri the next morning. But you also said, Ratri stayed at your house that night. You weren't home that night? And Ratri?" Said Arif who began to realize the awkwardness of Aini's story.

"It's staying at Mom's house, sir. Because I wasn't feeling well two days earlier." Honest Aini.

"What's? Then, how could Ratri stay at your house? Did he stay at your house with Adit?" Heni asked who was beginning to understand.

"Don't be mad at Ms Ratri Bu'!" Say Aini fast.

Heni's anger immediately ignited. Chests rumbling. His blood boiled so quickly just because of a simple plea from Aini who answered the question that had been nagging him ever since.

Heni stood up immediately. He set his foot with a roar of fire of anger rising at his daughter.

"Mom', Aini please, don't be mad Mom'!" Aini said as she stood up to stop Heni.

But his hand was cut off by Arif. Aini turned to Arif who shook his head slowly. Aini finally could only look at Heni who was walking towards the living room in anger.

PLAQUE. A loud slap instantly landed on Ratri's delicate cheek that had seen her mother coming with an angry face to her. All the guests of Ratri were aghast.

"Are you crazy, Rat? Mama's never taught you to do that thing this whole time. Moreover, in people who have donated their kidneys to save your life. Where's your conscience?" Heni snapped without hesitation in front of his guests.

Hadi's family was shocked to hear Heni's words. They don't know if Aini ever donated her kidney to Ratri. In fact, Adit doesn't even know about it.

There was a hint of guilt in Suharti's heart for trapping Ratri that night. Until now, the future son-in-law of his dreams had to get a hard slap from his mother.

"Mama doesn't want to know! You should apologize to Aini, until she sincerely forgives you for disturbing her household." Heni Imbuh.

Ratri just lowered his head with tears that had flowed. He was actually also very sorry for having disturbed the household of Aini and Adit. But really, the feelings that once bloomed between him and Adit, are still left to this day.

Undeniably, Ratri was in a major dilemma after his return from Adit's house that morning. On the one hand, he did not want to disturb the household of his best friend since childhood, who was also his helper. But on the other hand, his reunion with Adit several times before, managed to regrow a sense that had been buried for several years.

"Sorry Mother!" Aini said quickly after she managed to approach Ratri who was still rubbing her cheek which felt so hot.

Aini is not happy with Ratri, because of the story, Ratri gets a hard slap from his mother.

"You don't have to apologize to her, son! He should be the one to apologize to you." Sela Heni while pulling Aini's arm a little rough, in order to get away from Ratri.

"Sorry Mr. Hadi and Mother. We don't think we can answer that now. There are some things we need to negotiate first." Sela Arif's.

"Yes Mr. Arif, we understand. Then we'll excuse you to go home first Mr. Arif." Answer Hadi sungkan.

"Yes Mr. Hadi. Sorry for the incident that just happened." Arif replied that he was not feeling well.

"It's okay Mr. Arif. We understand."

Hadi, Suharti and Adit stood up and prepared to say goodbye to the owner of the house.

"Here! Can you stay here tonight, son? Tomorrow we'll take you home." Pinta Arif's.

"Yes Dear. Stay here tonight!" Imbuh Heni who had calmed down a little.

I looked at Adit.

"alright. Stay here tonight. Let me know, if there's anything!" Answer Adit gently.

Aini smiled a little. He took Umar out of Adit's hand.

Hadi, Suharti and Adit then went home immediately. They were not happy because their arrival made the atmosphere of the Ratri family a little bad.

After Adit and his parents, Arif and Heni immediately interrogate Ratri and Aini. But Aini first asked permission to put Umar who had looked very sleepy since.

Ratri finally admits that he slept at Aini's house that night with Adit. Arif and Heni's anger finally peaked after Ratri's recognition. They were completely inexhaustible, how could it possibly happen.

After finishing interrogating Ratri, Arif and Heni chatted with Aini who had finished putting Umar to sleep. They asked Aini a lot of things. While Ratri, asked Arif to return to his room.

Until the night starts late. Finally, Arif and Heni allowed Aini to rest after their long chat. And just as Aini was about to accompany Umar to sleep, Ratri came to his room.

"I'm sorry Ai! I didn't mean to intrude on your household with Adit." Ratri said sincerely.

"What's wrong, Aini understands." Honest Aini with a chest that returns tight.

Ratri and Aini chatted for quite a while. Ratri recounted the awkwardness he felt that night to Aini.

Aini finally says that Ratri and Adit were framed by Suharti that night. But Aini did not say that to Arif and Heni earlier.

Ratri was shocked by Aini's confession. He listened carefully to Aini's story which found evidence that Suharti had trapped Ratri and Adit that night.

"It's Ma'am! Aini had talked a lot with Mom and Dad. They must have had the best decision for Ratri." Aini's words calmed Ratri down.

"I don't know what to do about it." Ratri pasrah replied.

"Sleep yuk Ma'am! We'll talk again tomorrow!" Aini's advice is that his body and mind are very tired.

Ratri agreed. Ratri then returned to his room. Aini also immediately held her son who had slept first since.

No one knows what kind of road we're going to face up ahead. Whether it is smooth without holes, or even full of pebbles and large stones that will test our patience and sincerity. But one thing is for sure, we can get through it. Trust that.
