27. A Fatiguing Day

It had never been imagined by Alea to be sitting opposite her father's current elder sister, an impossible thing could happen since it had all been a dream for Alea since long ago. Now the dream came true, but Alea did not feel as happy as she had hoped in the past.

Alea could only nod, though her little heart refused. Suppose, if only someone else could be her guardian, Alea would certainly choose that other person over this elder of her father.

From birth to this age, Alea only knew her name and saw her face in the photos. They had never met anything else before. Just because she wanted to maintain her modesty, Alea fulfilled her uncle's request and invitation this afternoon to have lunch together.

Not yet had Alea answered Bagas' question, his handphone rang. Radit's name is on the screen.

"Jawab only" said Bagas as soon as Alea asked permission on his fiancee.

"Alea, mama..mama is gone, Lea" said Radit who was across the street.

"Where are you now, Mas?" asked the unconscious Alea again calling Radit with a mas call.

"I'm taking you to Radit's parents' house" Bagas said, as he could hear what Alea's ex-husband told his fiancee.

"Yes Bee." replied Alea.

Arriving at Radit's parents' residence, Alea greeted Kinta with questions.

"Why did you come to this house again?" ask Kinta.

"Do you want to rule this house too?" accuse Kinta.

Alea could only stare in disbelief, this atmosphere of mourning was not the right time to disagree. What else the accusation was so painful for Alea. He is not from a family, but that does not mean he is crazy treasure as alleged by Kinta.

"Alea came to prepare the arrival of the body in the funeral home" replied Bagas.

"Mama has left us, Auntie." Alea explained to Kinta.

"Don't talk carelessly, Radit didn't tell me anything" Kinta replied.

"Tante just ask Radit" Alea replied again as she passed leaving Radit's aunt glued to her place.

An atmosphere of grief enveloped Radit's parents' residence. Families and neighbors and people who knew Radit and Alea were also present to offer condolences. All the guests who came, almost all of Alea was familiar with. Including colleagues and leaders where Radit worked while he was still an employee of the state civil apparatus.

"Alea, it's unexpected that you still want to be present at this residence" said Mr. Bimo as soon as he saw Alea's presence in the funeral home.

"To make that mistake is her son, doesn't mean I should ignore her mother whom I already consider to be my own mother sir" Alea replied.

"You're really amazing, Alea." praise Mr. Bimo.

Not a few of those who are divorced also break the friendship with other families. Divorcing doesn't mean we're no longer compassionate, it's what Alea tried to instill. Mr. Bimo appreciates that. As bad as anything Radit has ever done to Alea, but he keeps his heart open to forgiveness.

Too tired today, Alea slept till dawn. Skipping dinner time with Bagas as usual.

"Non, this is warm milk to drink" said Tuti as she placed a glass of pure milk in front of Alea as Alea sat at the dinner table for breakfast.

"Thank you Ma. You didn't come for breakfast?" asked Alea who did not see the whereabouts of her future husband.

"Den Bagas had breakfast after dawn and left for the office from his home."
