"Younha, just a minute. I want to talk to you."
Younha's expression slowly shrank and let the woman in. There are several reasons why Younha is a little soft with Hyejin and one of them is because Younha wants to rise up, he wants to forget everything that happened in the past and start again from scratch even though Younha is fragile.
For more than five minutes they were silent. Younha waited for Hyejin to speak and did not want to force her because the woman continued to cry, no matter what was happening to her. Though Younha never expected their meeting to be this calm, they usually blamed each other and quarreled.
"You know, a man's mouth will be very sweet when they give you hope. Mas Jihoon gave me that so I could still breathe until now, but the truth is that he was just looking for something that was on you—" Hyejin's voice was stuck on the tip of the tongue, but in reality he was just looking for something that was on you<TAG1>, before he squeezed his own hand channeled mixed emotions in her. "—love you for her."
Hyejin sighed.
"Mas Jihoon loves you. Although it took five years to realize it." He laughed a little, sounding very frustrating. "No, Mas Jihoon never once neglected his love for you. For these five years he sacrificed himself to be with me, to be the sustainer of my life and to survive you, Younha. His treatment, hand rubbing, and attention changed so completely together that I realized he was actually still holding out to give you all that."
"He wouldn't leave if he loved me." Younha said in Hyejin's speech. "Children are only future investments for Mas Jihoon and that is not a strong proof for him to choose me. So, the fact that he loves me makes no sense."
"You just don't understand."
"You're the same." Younha said irritatedly. "Always say that."
"I'll tell you now."
Their gazes met seriously, for the first time. Younha is not too interested in discussing this problem that never subsides but seeing Hyejin who seems to be at his lowest point—may be the answer of all Younha sufferers so far.
"He just loves you..... His younha."
Younha's eyelids blinked, being on the verge of trust.
Hyejin squeezed her fingers before continuing. "I'm the one who's selfish here. Five years ago when I found out if you were married, my world was lost and my heart was broken. I have no bollard to stand on and when I almost die, Jihoon came and took me home with his hand. I don't know how desperate my family was then, but Jihoon gave me his full strength and promised to take care of me. I live with Jihoon's love?" Hyejin squeaks small. "Love as a pitied person. You know what it's like to be me?"
"Enough." Younha blocked, her chest felt tight to hear him.
"I'm almost desperate again and Jihoon is always there at the right time." Hyejin's tears began to wash over her cheeks, while revealing the feeling she had been feeling all along. Didn't know Younha would notice it or not. "I've always tried to keep him from coming back to you and I think I won after you split up."
"Quite Hyejin!!" Younha's screams began to get frustrated.
"But I lost because Mas Jihoon loves you!!"
"No." Younha shook his head in disbelief. "My life may have looked good all along but my heart was left in hell. It's hard being a loving party while I'm not loved especially I have Yeonjun and Seojun who keep reminding me of Mas Jihoon. She's been happy with you—"
"I'll leave as soon as I can." Said Hyejin which made Younha confused heavily. After being silent for a while, she only understood Hyejin's language starting to let go of Jihoon now.
"Where?"
Hyejin raises her shoulders. "Of course, maybe far away."
"You think I believe?"
"Believe it or not you'll see for yourself. So please, looking again to Jihoon. He needs you."
Hyejin said goodbye after that, with a faint smile full of pain.
...*****...
Jihoon let out a small groan before opening his eyes, adjusting the dimness of the room lights that burst into his window. He extended his hand to feel the cold surface of his mattress, where Hyejin had been. Now the woman disappeared, making Jihoon immediately sit and circle the view to the entire room. Her twin legs touched the floor, stepped towards the window and flicked the curtains, apparently still night.
"Heyjin?"
Call Jihoon in a hoarse voice and one eyebrow raised, waiting for an answer.
"Heyjin?" Jihoon walked down the cold floor to the front of the bathroom, which turned out to be empty. "Where are you?"
Slender. No one answered, Jihoon approached his phone on the bed to call Hyejin but first with a contact who called him.
Jinan, it's not usually the brother calls. Without lingering he immediately raised the call.
"Where areyou? Are you alone?"
"Yes, I'm alone." Jihoon replied that he knew nothing. "I should call Hyejin, maybe she'll go back to her apartment while I'm sleeping."
Jinan scowled his temple from across, sighs rattled and heavy. "Didn't he say anything?"
"Prepare, I'll come."
"Tell me what's wrong Jinan?" Jihoon clucked in annoyance. "Did something happen to her?"
"I'll tell you later in the car."
Tutt's.
Call was cut across. Jihoon stared blankly at his phone screen, as if something was taking away his focus. Jihoon's feeling was suddenly uneasy as he recalled Hyejin who was crying earlier. What the hell is going on? Jihoon was late to digest it.
Elsewhere, Hyejin dragged her suitcase through the airport lobby heavily. His mind was tangled like a worn thread, he never expected an end like this to happen to him.
Hyejin had consulted Mirae that she would go to Switzerland and settle there. Is Mirae going to tell Jihoon about this? Ah, it feels impossible. Hyejin was ready to part with the man she loved the most and she left without saying goodbye, wouldn't it be a waste now to hope that man came to say goodbye?
"Is everything in order? You look like you're worried about something?" Woojin asked from beside her, the man who would escort Hyejin all the way to Switzerland secretly.
"Nothing." Hyejin shook her head, even though she was grazing her suitcase with a hard feeling.
"Julyijin!"
The sound is roaring in the middle of human density. The two looked at each other and were shocked, then saw Jihoon who was sculpting with a breath of sting with Jinan at the back.
"Jihoon?" Hyejin turned around. His eyes trembled as he saw the man approaching with a worried look. Is this what we call fear? Hyejin just realized it. Fear of being away from someone when that hope is no longer there.
"Why this? Where you going? Why don't you tell me?" Jihoon asked randomly, he was shocked to death when he found out Hyejin left like this. "Did I make you uncomfortable until you left like this?"
Hyejin shook her head, her tears falling again.
"You said you wanted to marry me, let's do it, Hyejin. Do everything you want."
Jihoon's two thumbs rubbed the cheeks blushing the crying lover. In his heart rebuked himself who was insensitive to Hyejin. Jihoon was too stupid, he made the same mistake as it used to be—when a loved one saved his own pain.
"I can't be with you anymore, Jihoon." Hyejin said on the sidelines. "I don't want you to continue to suffer."
"Hey, what's the pain?" Jihoon lifted Hyejin's jaw, his heart pinched looking at that red face. "I'm happy with you."
"No." Hyejin took off that hand. "You are just pity and pity. You don't really love me. So there's no reason for me to stay."
"What are you talking about? I don't understand."
Hyejin looked at Jihoon's iris fixedly. "You love Younha."
Jihoon fell silent, even Hyejin said that.
"I have to go for you guys to be happy. You've sacrificed for me and now it's time for me to step down." Hyejin. "You have to start over and be happy, hm?"
"Hyejin, what do you mean—"
"My life isn't long anymore." Hyejin said sobbing, while Woojin rubbed her sister's back hoping the situation would end soon. She had no heart for Hyejin who was already sick.
"What?!"
"I'm sick and I don't want you to come along like you used to. It turns out everything was wrong, Jihoon. So please live well with the one you love." Hyejin grabbed Jihoon's hand, rubbed it gently and looked at the man's net intensely. "Go back to Younha, and forgive me."
"I will always be there for you. Please don't say kayak gini. You can skip this and I will be big you."
"No." Hyejin's voice choked, she wiped away her tears then smiled as if to present that she was strong. "Now that I've come to my senses, it doesn't matter who is supporting or beside me. Because it's all about the heart, not the ego or the compulsion. So, I can get through this on my own. Don't be sorry."
Jihoon did not answer a word as his body was crushed by Hyejin who was hugging tightly for the last time. With the sincere smile that the woman threw for Jihoon, he felt that he had been done with all of this and would not regret it.
Their hands began to slowly detach, from the entire fingers to the index finger with weight. The beautiful smile he showed slowly faded with the atmosphere in the middle of the airport crowd.
Hyejin realized that she had no hope, but her love for Jihoon would always be imprinted in the depths of her heart.
