A World Without Seams

Bram woke up in the morning and had to go to work. He saw that his work papers were neatly arranged. The aroma of cooking filled his sense of smell made his stomach sound sonorous.

"Morning!" greet Rachel to Bram who walks to the bathroom.

"Hmmm," Bram muttered and went into the bathroom. After washing his face he went out and sat down at the dinner table.

"Aren't you working?" ask Bram.

"Today I ask for a holiday, some work will be sent via email only. My body hurts all" said Rachel.

"Hmm.I'm going home, I'm picking up my sister" said Bram.

"Not breakfast yet?" ask Rachel.

"No, I'm in a hurry to have something prepared" said Bram. He hurried to do all his work. Before long the car had been hurtling out of Rachel's yard.

"SISTER...?" call Noey in front of Rachel's study upstairs. Rachel turned her chair around and looked at the newly woken Noey with disheveled hair.

"What's wrong?" ask Rachel.

"Sister Bram has come home?" tanyakanya.

"That was morning,"

"Morning? now it? jeezoooooo!" he shouted after glancing at the clock on the wall which showed at 10:00 am. Rachel laughed when she panicked.

"Such a panic, why you? any promises?" ask Rachel.

"There are, fortunately, the clock was pushed back to afternoon" Noey said, looking at his phone.

"What way? brother wants to go to Bram's reunion tonight, too,"

"Secondary school management, ngajakin get together before going to college out," said Noey.

"Ooh, so what time are you coming home?" ask Rachel.

"No idea, I think I'm going home, right?" ask Noey.

"It's okay" said Rachel. Noey nodded and immediately took a shower. Rachel sent a message to Bram reminding them of their show later tonight. Bram only replies with thumb emoticons.

That afternoon Rachel was already preparing for the reunion, some of her friends made sure to attend. Rachel replied to their message with the same answer.

At exactly 19:00 Bram came to pick him up. The man was wearing a shirt and a tuxedo. The fragrance of perfume spread as she sat on the sofa waiting for Rachel. Her hair was neatly combed to the side. Rachel wears a green tosca knee-length dress and a flower hairpin.

"Yeah!" take Rachel.

"OK..." Bram looks a bit wrong.

"Why? Do I look weird?" ask Rachel.

"Beautiful!" murmuring Bram.

"What?" ask Rachel.

"Come fast! Later we're late" said Bram and he gave his arm to hold Rachel.

"Yes," Rachel smiled sweetly at Bram. Bram's face stiffened again.

They got into the car with the Bram family driver. During the trip Bram never took off their arms. Rachel was feeling a bit uneasy as well but she let it go.

"Does everyone bring a partner?" ask Bram. Rachel smiled nervously.

"Yes, uh most of all," said Rachel.

"Pantesan," said Bram.

They arrived at a building with lights and a welcome board. Rachel and Bram walked in and smiled.

"That's Rachel, isn't it?" ask the others. The three of them approached Rachel, greeted her and hugged her. Rachel grumbled softly.

"Who is this guy with him?" ask Irene.

"Hi I'm Bram" Bram introduced himself. Rachel looked at Bram with annoyance.

"Hi Bram, I'm Irene. These are my friends Sera and Vio. They both wave towards Bram. Bram gave his sweet smile making the three people smile happily.

They entered a crowded building. The sound of music filled the ears. Food and drink are not stopping. What makes Rachel bored and uncomfortable. Bram clasped his hand and invited him to sit a bit away from the stage.

The event has already started some people giving the word welcome including Irene. Make Rachel roll her eyeballs as she sees Irene blink her eyes at Bram and get her hands back.

"Game!" hiss Rachel.

"You jealous?" asked Bram beside her.

"No! I don't like him, though,"

"Why? He was kind of friendly" Bram said.

"Yaaaa.. whatever," said Rachel shrugged and pretended to enjoy her show and ignored Bram.

Soon Irene joins them and invites Bram to dance without permission to Rachel. Rachel is not Bram's girlfriend but here they pretend to be a couple. And Bram easily nodded and joined Irene dancing to join the crowd under the beat of music. Rachel thinks this isn't a reunion but moving the discotheque into the building.

"Is the show boring?" ask someone beside him. Rachel frowned and tried to remember who the young man was.

"I'm Ray, who used to play basketball accidentally hit you until you passed out" he said.

"Ooh, yeah, I remember," said Rachel. He not only fainted because of the ball but also carried by the school's flagship handsome basketball player. Even he was until the nosebleed was near Ray. Which is wrong with Ray. He thought the nosebleed was his act when it was because Rachel was too happy. But he continued his play.

"You are beautiful" said Ray.

"Thank you,"

"Who are you here with?" tanyakanya. Rachel pointed to Bram who was still busy dancing with Irene sticking her body to Bram. Makes Rachel feel like she's vomiting.

"Your boyfriend?" ask Ray. Somehow Rachel was tempted to shake her head, whereas with other friends she claimed to be dating.

"Let's dance!" bring him.

"No! I can't!" Rachel said.

"I'll teach you, come on. You're so pretty, don't just sit around" Ray's pinta pulled Rachel's hand.

They walked towards the bottom of the stage filled with many people. They started dancing. Rachel laughed happily at Ray who sometimes acted cool before her.

"You're finally enjoying the party" Ray shouted in Rachel's ear. Rachel nodded while laughing.

"I'm tired" said Rachel.

"Beauty soon" said Ray. Rachel felt drifting and gave a moment to accompany Ray who was increasingly fun dancing.

When the music ended, they sat down. Irene and Bram continued dancing. Music becomes romantic and relaxing. Irene draped her hand to Bram's neck and Bram's hand wrapped around Irene's waist.

"They enjoyed it very much" Ray said.

"Let it!" Rachel said.

Ray handed Rachel a drink. It is red and tastes slightly bitter and sore as it passes through his throat. But the longer it feels the better. Even many times Rachel asked for more drinks to Ray who was happy.

"Slow down!" ray said as Rachel took a sip of a drink and instantly spent. Make the water flow out of his mouth and continue to pass through his neck.

Ray quickly picked up a tissue and wiped the red drink from her neck towards Rachel's mouth. Rachel smiled happily and propped her head to Ray's shoulder.

Rachel got drunk because of Ray. Ray is happy to see Bram and Irene telling a story. Ray immediately saw Rachel away from the hustle and bustle of the reunion atmosphere.
