A widower? Hot Daddy's.

A widower? Hot Daddy's.
The Part 23

"Well, Syafina wants to drink, but there's no milk."

Syafina ran towards me as one of her hands held an empty plastic cup.

"I guess I forgot to buy baby, how about it?"

Syafina was silent for a moment and then she bashfully asked to buy pure milk in a mini market not far from the residential complex where I live.

"Well, what if you buy first, Dad?"

I did not immediately agree even though I would actually take him there while offering him snacks. Syafina quite rarely buys snacks outside, so it's okay to take her.

"Hhmm, may.. but there's a condition?"

Syafina looked at me, waiting for the conditions I would give her so that she could drink milk for tonight.

"The signal is we go to the mini market on foot, giman?"

Syafina responded to the conditions I had put in, and she excitedly pulled me out of the house.

"Beauty, I lock the door first, if not in the key later someone enters the table."

Finished locking the door, I immediately carried her, could not bear to tell her to walk even though the distance was not too far, moreover this was a night that the air was quite cold.

"Sir."

I smiled greeting the guards who were on duty at the complex gate.

"Where are you going these nights?"

"This sir, forgot to buy him milk."

Haven't had time for the guards of the complex to chimed in my words, a step was heard someone was coming in haste.

"Mas, where are you going? Why not jump around?"

Mira came walking quickly to us, her hands were still busy wearing thin sweaters to cover the sleeping clothes and slightly protect from the cold air of the night.

"Here, go to the mini market to buy milk."

"Oh, am I coming? Is it okay for you to come, baby?"

Syafina nodded, as if she was so pleased with the presence of Mira, in contrast to the security guard who was surprised when Mira mentioned herself as Mother to Syafina.

Now, both of my hands are busy with their own business. The right hand must withstand the weight of Syafina's growing body weight, while the left hand is busy making sure that the future is still in its grasp.

"Darling, here change, carrying the same Mother."

Mira intended to replace me holding Syafina and it seemed that Syafina gladly accepted Mira's invitation, but I refused it. Mira has been working all day and I'm sure the work is tiring, so I don't want to keep bothering her for little things like this.

"Don't, you'll be tired."

Until the intended mini market, Syafina immediately thrashed out asking to get down from the sling to take the milk she would buy herself, she knew very well where she usually took the milk, she knew very well where she usually took the milk, but unfortunately he had to be disappointed because this time the place was too high and could not be reached by his cute hands and tiny body. I who saw the incident felt between funny and pity.

"Mother, no nyampe."

Syafina ran towards us, she sulked but not as usual, now the place to complain is the Mother, or rather the future Mother. Mira smiled, then helped by holding Syafina to take what she wanted for herself.

"Here, Mother help."

"Give me, Mother."

"So say thank you to Mother, right? Daddy didn't? That means Syafina paid for herself, huh?"

Syafina's expression changed instantly, probably not understanding that what I just said was just a joke. Syafina looked towards Mira and I in turn.

"Did you bring money?" mira asked with a smile, she knew that all I did was tease her, just like the previous habit.

Syafina shook her head then she tried to return the milk she was holding back to where it was.

"Well, why behind, baby? I'm kidding, you bought that?"

I took the milk back.

After shopping, we returned with each of us holding the ice cream I bought to apologize to Syafina for teasing her.

Arriving home, just like the previous days, Mira did not go home immediately, he still felt at home to linger until willing to reduce his rest time but this time did not end with the same sin.

*****

This afternoon, somehow Syafina was so fussy, what she wanted I always had to do. His desire was simple, starting only from buying snacks from traders who went around to accompany him to take a nap, but after the afternoon arrived, Syafina without cause invited me to go to the beach.

"Come, Dad."

Syafina whined as she continued to pull the shirt I was wearing today until it felt looser than before.

"Daddy afternoon baby, you'll catch a cold."

Syafina flinched, she remained on her wish stand while still doing the same.

"Ko Syafina today is so reckless?"

As if he did not care or lazy to argue, he still whined and forced me to follow his will.

"Yes, yes."

Just a few minutes of preparation, Syafina and I have been sitting ready on the big bike that will take us there. But shortly before leaving, a car will stop right in front of Mira's house. Before stopping, the owner first lowered the window glass for more than just greeting.

"Where are you? Why not jump around?"

A look of curious and disappointed face is slightly implied behind the sunglasses that he was wearing when he saw we would go for a walk without telling or inviting him.

"This, Syafina from earlier was fussy, want to play water on the beach he said."

"Aren't you rhyming?"

Mira repeated her question sentence again, perhaps implied a hope that I would invite her.

"Yes, if you're going home long."

I smiled awkwardly to just cover up the guilt of not telling us about the walk this afternoon. Didn't get a response from Mira after I said that, I finally made small talk to invite her.

"Aren't you tired? Wanna come?"

Mira's expression immediately seemed to change from the previous one to pout into a shy smile while still maintaining the image.

"Maybe?"

It's a silly question he shouldn't ask, because I'm honestly glad he came with us this afternoon. I just smiled and answered his question.

"Wait a moment, dear."

I was stunned to hear Mira say that word, whether it was for me or Syafina. Mira immediately put her car into the garage, and shortly after she got out of the front door of her house. After making sure the door was locked, he immediately approached us.

"Well, is it okay, baby, come with you for a walk?"

Mira made sure that her existence did not interfere, and Syafina's reaction was of course more excited when Mira took a walk with us.

"Ready?"

"Depart."

Mira and Syafina seemed so happy, and I might just feel more than that.

The trip does not need to take long, although it can not also be called a moment because it almost takes an hour.

The ripples of the waves and the sweep of the wind came and greeted as if saying "Consider me, the gift of the almighty." A smile began to be engraved but did not match what was in the heart. A speck of past memory flashed as the witness became proof that I had been happy with him. Nostalgia is like a knife that begins to scratch the wound that is slowly treated by a new love, it is undeniable that it will never be replaced.

"Mas, come on."

Mira at this time may be forgetting the feeling of fatigue, he and Syafina are impatient to enjoy the cool of the waves in the afternoon. I prefer to see them enjoy today, the setting of a bright atmosphere with the sun that will soon return to the contest so beautifully spoil the eyes.

After Mira failed to persuade me to join them, it was Shafina's turn. He pulled my hand and tried to take me to the waves never tired of running around relentlessly, but they had to be disappointed because my steps never got there. I sat on the sand at the end of the wave sweep that only a few inches could touch the tip of the foot. Seeing them happy like this, the hope about Syafina's future seemed like it would turn out to be beautiful, she had found what she should have gotten.

The sky was still bright even though at the eastern end he had returned dark with the night that began to come with water droplets that began to wet my face and hair.

Mira and Syafina poured the sea water from the waves that hit them both on me, but I was still not tempted and just enjoyed what they were doing. Until the sky was completely blackened, I still remained like this, reminiscing about what had happened in this place.

"Dear, yuk, it's dark."

Mira invites Syafina to stop but she refuses, she still wants to enjoy the cool sea water that turns cold with Mira forced to hold Syafina to force her to stop. Mira's attitude at that time looked really like she had become a mother to Syafina. Luckily Syafina did not dispute anything else until struggling, she also seemed happy to get the attention of her future mother.

"Udah yuk, find a bath with every meal."

I stood up and cleaned the sand grains that were stuck in my pants, then clean their clothes and equipment both for me to take to the dining place where there is a place to clean themselves from sea water attached to the body. The place is not far from the beach, where to eat and stalls are not so big but provide quite a lot of typical food menu beach area. Friendly, the owner of the restaurant took Mira and Syafina to the place to clean themselves next to the stall. While waiting for them to finish, I ordered some food and drinks that before leaving earlier Mira had told me.

While waiting for the order and they finished cleaning themselves, I again daydreamed about what had happened with him, so beautiful but dear did not end happily.

"Dad."

Syafina's voice surprised me, she returned alone without being with Mira, only in between by the shop owner's mother.

"Well, how are you? Which aunt?"

Syafina was silent, apparently she was sobbing and trying to digest what I said just now.

"Aunty? You mean Dad, Mommy?"

Syafina stared probing, trying to understand what I meant.

"Eh, yes, dear, I mean Father, Mother."

"Mother is still there."

Syafina's hand pointed towards the place earlier with Mira cleaning herself. Shortly after, Mira came out with wet hair. For a moment I was stunned to see it, there was an unusual feeling from before. It is possible that if the level of affection can be measured with a tool, the number must have increased from before.

"Why?"

Seeing me since I kept looking at her, Mira blushed.

"Why, why not. You are beautiful."

For the first time, I really praised Mira, her usually simple appearance now seemed special.

"Thank you."

Mira blushed again, even this time he seemed to be misbehaving, because after that he preferred to busy himself with Syafina.

The smell of cooked food is so appetizing, the distinctive smell of grilled seafood really invites worms in the stomach to feast, and finally tonight will end happily, he said, before the day after tomorrow that will determine everything.
