Barra sipped her coffee alone in the dining room. His talk and Rania ended in a dead end. Now he was pondering what to do ahead. There was no way he would let go of the baby that had been waiting for. But he also does not blame Rania if his wife still wants to ask for a divorce from him. She realized her attitude lately had been outrageous to her.
"Will he come down?" Her mother's voice broke Barra's daydream.
Barra just shook her head.
"She's still going to ask for a divorce, ma'am" replied Barra quietly.
"Can't, I don't want to be separated from my granddaughter. I've been dying to hold a grandchild."
"Isn't this what you want? She's divorced from me?"
"That was Barra .. before she got pregnant! Don't get divorced from him. Have you tried talking to him? Have you persuaded him?"
"I'll try again. You should apologize to him too. Mother's attitude towards him all this time was also very outrageous."
"Why should I apologize to him? I'm her father-in-law, I'm much older than her so I don't have to apologize!"
"Mom keeps calling her a barren woman and now she's pregnant. Aren't you ashamed?!" mother's speechless.
"If she keeps asking for divorce, divorce only if my grandson is not brought. Just give him a little money instead."
"Bu ...! Do you still not understand? Don't you think about my feelings, my household? How will my son live with a family that is not intact? Don't you think that far?!!" Barra left her mother upset. All this time he followed the words of his mother and now the fate of his household is at an end to it.
Barra went back upstairs, to her room and Rania. She wanted to see if Rania had eaten the food she had brought or not.
Rania was still curled up in bed while playing her phone. Barra approached him and sat down beside him.
"You don't want to eat?" Barra saw the tray and its contents were still the same as before when she left it on the nightstand. Then he looked at Rania's face that was getting pale.
"You must eat, for the sake of the fetus in your stomach," said Barra softly.
"I'm afraid I'll throw up again. It feels limp once every time you vomit," replied Rania without taking her eyes off her phone.
"You want to eat something? I can buy it for you."
"No thank you. I can order it online if I want something. You don't have to bother."
"Rone ... Please give me a chance. I want us to go back to what we used to." Rania fell silent.
"I know you're mad at me, maybe even vengeful at me. But, if you want to repay everything I've done to you then just give it back to me. Don't let our child get hit."
Rania took her eyes off her phone then looked at Barra. "For months you treated me badly. Is it possible that in just two days I can forget it? Is it because I'm pregnant now that you're desperately keeping me here?"
"You don't love me anymore, Barra. You don't want me! You just want a baby in my stomach!"
"No Ran ... Don't talk like that. I love you, I still love you so much. I'm afraid of losing you. You and our baby will make my life perfect." Barra's eyes glazed over.
Both silent.
"You remember ... You used to say you wanted to have three children? You also want to make a peach-colored room for our son if he's a girl. I said 'shouldn't it be pink?' but you still insist on wanting colored peach. Then if your boy will make a room with a red theme. I said again, ' shouldn't it be blue?' Then you answer, 'Red alone means brave'. You want us to have a boy later he'll be a brave boy. Do you remember that?" Barra could not hold back her tears.
Rania was really touched by what Barra just said. He did not expect Barra to still remember such a small thing. Now his eyes are glazed.
"Are we going to make it happen?" barra asked as she wiped her tears.
"Come out, I want to be alone" answered Rania, turning her face away from Barra.
"Allah ... I'll give you time. I've realized my mistake and I want to make up for it. Tell me if you need anything."
Barra passed by leaving Rania in her room. He walked down the back garden of his house and then sat in a chair near the pool. He recalled the sweet memories of when he and Rania always spent weekends swimming in this pool. Even until their fingers were wrinkled from the cold. Rania does not want to take a vacation out because she feels sorry if her mother is left alone at home.
Barra sighed remembering all her sweet memories with Rania. The wife who is always concerned about herself and her mother but they almost throw away because they have not been able to give offspring. In the face again the pool area is directly connected to the back garden. He imagined how Rania could take care of this park alone, not to mention cleaning the house and arranging all her needs.
"How can he take care of this house himself? Not to mention facing mother's endless scolding, she must have suffered so much all this time" Barra murmured regretfully. "I should have understood you better." Barra rubbed her face rough.
"After what I did to her, I knew it wasn't easy for her to forgive me. But I'm not giving up. I'm gonna fix everything. I'll keep you by my side Ran."
Meanwhile, in her room, Rania was crying. Barra's words reminded them of the early days of their marriage. The plan to have children, the design of the nursery, the names of the children, everything related to the child they had planned at that time. They are always enthusiastic when talking about children. But over time the conversation was gone. The child they are waiting for is not present in their lives.
Rania wiped her tears. "It looks like this pregnancy hormone is making my mood go up and down" she said, calming herself down. "If it wasn't like this, I would be very happy right now. This is the pregnancy I have been waiting for for for so long. Why are you filled with tears like this?"
"If I tell Malik, will he accept this child as his son? Or will he throw me away too?" Rania feels a dilemma, if one step can make her life more messy.
"I'd better keep this secret until the time comes." Rania wiped her tears. Just then Barra went back inside the room and found her sitting on the edge of the bed wiping away her tears.
