Chapter.32 A Changing World #Advanced Negotiations

8 Days since the World Changed.

Tangerang Regency. Cisauk Subdistrict. Sempoa Village.

(note: the name of Sempoa Village actually does not exist)

"Earth Wall" "Earth Wall..."

Casting Earth Wall Spells sounded from every corner. The people behind me lined up and made an earthen wall with Magic Earth.

Most of them were all civilians while some people who looked like police mixed in while instructing the civilians.

Currently, they were building a wall that aimed to be a barrier from the territory that had been controlled by the Monsters so that no monsters roamed in the human territory consisting mostly of civilians.

In front of the civilians who were building the wall, in other words on the other side of the wall they were building, some soldiers were on guard from the monsters in this region.

They were all armed with automatic rifles with sharp weapons in reserve when the ammunition ran out.

Among them, a man wearing a dark green and unarmed Hoodie was seen yawning in boredom. The man's name is Orchid Wijaya Kusuma, in other words I am.

I looked back to see the progress of the Magic-based construction work that was being done.

Right now, I am serving as the guardian of the monster territory's construction along with the soldiers. I don't actually want to do this job, rather I don't want to work.

They brought me into the Building of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, and it turns out I will negotiate directly with the Minister of Defense of Indonesia and the Minister of Home Affairs of Indonesia.

At first I thought that at least I would be able to negotiate with the representatives of the government in the Banten Province Region. But after I was asked to go to Central Jakarta, I thought that I would negotiate with the secretary of state or something, like that, and I did not think that I would be taken to the Indonesian Defense Ministry Building to negotiate directly with the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Home Affairs.

Well although maybe negotiating with the secretary of state would also make me nervous. So I could only harden my resolve and calm myself down for this negotiation.

I was ushered into a room that seemed to be a meeting room. With a large long table and chairs surrounding it, at the end of the table were seen three men who had passed middle age sitting in nearby chairs.

Earlier, I was told that I would meet with the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Home Affairs. But then there were three people at this meeting.

Then an additional person in this meeting turned out to be the Minister of the Secretariat of State, and this increased the pressure I received in these negotiations. Though actually negotiating with a sector police chief (Pak Sofyan) already makes me nervous.

Faced with the three great people of this country, Mr. Yudi the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Tarigan the Minister of Defense, and Mr. Rudy the Minister of the Secretariat of State. It really made me so nervous that I had the time to think about giving away all the information I knew without negotiating/requesting anything in return.

So, I again hardened my resolve and struggled not to be too nervous or depressed while negotiating with the three Ministers. If we were currently in the Dangerous Zone and Bonus Time was still in effect, maybe I would get some kind of resistance skill to reduce the nervousness and pressure I felt.

Then we started our negotiations. And I managed to get most of what I wanted.

The two Houses that were in the territory were guaranteed to be safe from Monsters and Dungeons along with a large sum of money that was larger than I might have made even though I worked 24 hours non-stop as a minimarket cashier for the rest of my life.

As for them.... They get information about the origin/source of Mana Stone, its uses and how to apply/use it, including how to make Magic Tools and Magic Weapons.

I am giving information to the country also probably because I still have a sense of patriotism in my country, and I do not want this country to be chaotic or to be weaker than other countries when this new era begins.

We also discussed things or rather I just told them about what I thought might happen in the future.

I told them, if the Information regarding the Mana Stone and the Making of Magic Tools or Magic Weapons would indeed be known to the public soon, then, it might be better if the government immediately announced the information to the public and all gave taxes on the possession of Magic Weapons and Magic Tools based on how powerful or rare the weapons were. Taxes on those who mass-produce it for sale.

With that, I managed to get 10% of the tax each year in the future.

Because I feel good about the sizable amount of free money I can earn each year without having to work, I told them about the possibility that very powerful people would emerge who would then set up a private organization like a Guild or something. So I advise them to immediately make requirements, regulations and obligations for private Guilds.

I also advise them to create a Hunter License or something for people who join a Guild and people who make hunting Monsters or conquering Dungeons their job.

So they decided to create a new organization to monitor either the Guild or the Hunter, and appointed me as the head/leader of the organization, which of course I strongly rejected.

It seems like they judge me too highly, which I am just a 21-year-old with his ideas thought out or got for having read a lot of related fantasy novels or something like that.

Although I actually think that being the head of a large organization is pretty cool. It's just, I don't feel like I have the ability to be the leader of an organization. Well, maybe I'll gain experience as time goes on and become a capable leader.

But that's not why I refused to be the head/leader of the organization. I just thought that it was too troublesome and most likely they wanted to bind me, make full use of me and restrict my freedom.

Because this world changed and the mysterious voice of that time said the full merging of 2 worlds or something like that in 3 months, with the most likely World that joins this World is Fantasy World which has various Fantasy Races in it. So I want to explore this world and see the Fantasy Races.

Thus I must soon become stronger for my adventure of exploring this changing world. And I also have to have the freedom to do that. Even if I have such great power that only a handful of people in this world can compete with me, I automatically have that freedom.

So my goal for now is to level up and become stronger.

After I refused the appointment of the position of head of a new organization. Mr. Tarigan, the Minister of Defense spoke of my home which he said had become a small fortress in the reports they received along with reports of my request to negotiate with the state.

I told them that I built the fort with Earth Magic, and I told them about the process and performance of the land fort.

I also advise them to create a barrier in the same way to surround some or all of the territory that is controlled by monsters and considered dangerous. And they asked me to help them do that.

I really wanted to reject her, but they said one thing I forgot. "Maybe in the future existing and emerging Dungeons will be supervised and regulated by the state, along with the right to enter dangerous territories including the Dungeon. Not to mention about Hunter's license spending...." In other words, they said that I would not be able to enter Dungeons or dangerous territories and even they would not issue a Hunter License for me even if I gave the idea.

So inevitably I agreed, with the note that I would only help for 1 week of course with normal working hours. But they they they asked me to work for 2 Weeks with normal working hours with no days off with the free expenditure of the Exclusive Hunter License in addition to me. Although I do not know what they mean by this Exclusive, I only agreed to it before they spoke of something even more troublesome and asked them to immediately make a contract regarding this negotiation.

I'm worried about whether they'll actually make the contract, though, but then one went into this space with some sheets of paper that turned out to be contracts on things we had discussed earlier.

Looks like there's a cctv or a wiretapper or something in this room somewhere they've been prepping. And this shows that I was really careless and naive for forgetting about it and not realizing it.

But thankfully they were not that bad, to cancel the contract and just throw me out. Although they were cunning old foxes, but it seemed like they still had a conscience.

Or maybe, they were anticipating that I wouldn't rebel or anything like that. Well, they may not be wrong. Because if the contract is canceled after I give all the information above and they just kick me out I will definitely sell the information to another country and move with my family to that country.

Let's put that aside.

I signed the contract after reading it long enough several times to make sure there was nothing wrong or anything suspicious about its contents.

So I started working the next day, while the problems regarding my home and family would be taken care of by them and one more house was for Fitri and his family which they would also take care of. I have informed Fitri of this using telepathy from the Party effect which was apparently not limited to the detection of the existence of Party members who were only 5 km away.

In the explanation of the Party effect is not mentioned about the limits of telepathy, I asked Megumin and it turns out he also did not know the limits or other explanations about it.

After we finished with the negotiations and the signing of the contract, the sun had already started to set. So I was escorted to a nearby hotel and the bill was to be borne by the government, so I ordered the most delicious and expensive food with full service from the service provided by the hotel.

No Face here.

I'm sorry for not updating for 2 days today, the previous Saturday, there were brothers who visited our house and among them there was my cousin who was new in 1st grade Junior who liked to play with me so I could not concentrate on writing stories.

He stayed at our house, while his mother and father, who were none other than my aunt and uncle, came home first because actually our house was just another village not too far away. So they'll pick her up the next day in the afternoon.

When the cousin was here, I made him to watch anime on my laptop and I had to watch him so he wouldn't get too immersed in the world of parenting.

What's more, there were some files that she shouldn't be seen on my laptop so I accompanied her to pick and watch anime that was safe for her.

Uh! The purpose of the file is an anime that is not too appropriate for him like an anime that has the ecchi genre.

That's why I can't concentrate on writing because I would feel uneasy about letting her watch anime and operate my laptop alone.
