~{Sudent Syarif}~
Booms!!
The sound of explosions rang out, and the limbs of the Goblins flew over.
One of my subordinates, Fera threw 1 grenade that he carried out of the 5 grenades we had.
It seemed that Fera threw the grenade after noticing the scene where there were human corpses in the room, many corpses still intact, but many of them only had their bones left.
While some big Goblins were eating, The smaller goblins of the Goblin that were eating dismembered the bodies of the existing human corpses and presented them on the table where the largest 4-meter-tall Goblins were located, and they also presented it at a large table where 4 Goblins over 2.5 Meters tall gathered.
The 4 Goblins with a height of more than 2.5 Meters were just like the Goblins who led the troops that came to us before.
Then there were the other Goblins eating on the floor.
The space is vast, perhaps almost as large as a football field. With the biggest Goblin that is likely to be the Goblin King.
Goblins are identified and named according to their size and appearance.
The small Goblin or Goblin is commonly identified as [Type 1 Goblin], then the Goblin that has the size of an Asian adult human is identified as [Type 2 Goblin], then the Goblin with the arrow was identified as a [Type 3 Goblin], while the Goblin that was the size of a burly European adult was identified as a [Type 4 Goblin].
Then the other Goblins we encountered but not yet in the report we read before.
Goblins that can use Magic, we identified as [Type 5 Goblins], and Goblins with a height of more than 2.5 Meters, we identified as [Type 6 Goblins].
The naming is only temporary to make it easier for us to identify them.
Meanwhile, the Boss of the Goblins was designated as the [Goblin King (Goblin King)].
Let's put that aside.
Due to the loud noise from my kick and the door being thrown, all the Goblins were staring at us. I'm not sure what their exact number is, but at least they number more than 400 in a room almost the size of this football field.
'What should I do...?'
While I was still thinking about the situation, and looking for the most appropriate plan, Fera threw her grenade and killed many Goblins that were gathered in one place.
Even though I haven't given any orders.
So that's how we started to eradicate the Goblins in this room.
Since we were already in the presence of the Goblin King, I gave the order not to have to withhold the ammunition from the remaining automatic rifles.
"Shoot the strongest Goblins you can, but don't throw a bullet by shooting Goblins that have fast movements that can avoid gunfire!" (Sharif)
" "Rober!!" "
While we finish off the Goblins that are in front of us. The Goblin King and the Type 6 Goblin (Goblin General) were a short distance away from behind their troops.
The Goblin King remained seated on his throne and continued eating, while the 4 Type 6 Goblins (Goblin General) walked leisurely towards the battle.
I instructed my subordinates who were holding grenades to throw them at the Type 5 Goblin (Goblin Wizard) and instructed two people to focus on shooting the Type 3 Goblin (Goblin Archer)
Since I gave some of my ammunition to my subordinates, I soon ran out of ammunition. So I threw the automatic rifle and switched to close combat.
Taking out my sword from its sheath, I slashed at the Goblin coming towards me. I continued to slash at the nearby Goblins while still paying attention to the 4 Type 6 Goblins (Goblin General) that were walking slowly towards the battle where we were.
Not long after, all my subordinates ran out of ammunition and switched to their own fighting style. Not everyone is doing close combat.
2 Magic users and 2 Supporters, even so they still hold spears or swords for self-protection from close combat.
We continued to kill the incoming Goblins and prevent them from approaching our rearguard.
...
"Captain! The back row of Mana and many are exhausted" (Deni)
Deni spoke using telepathy as the battle seemed to never end.
This battle is harder than I thought. Although this battle has been going on for a long time, but we only managed to reduce their forces by almost half.
Most likely because the Goblins that were in this room were mostly from Type 4 Goblins (Elite Knights) who had quite strong strength and defense. While the number of Type 1 Goblins (Ordinary Goblins) and 2 (Goblin Knights) is very small.
We also had difficulty dealing with magic and arrows being fired at us from time to time.
And it looks like the 4 Type 6 Goblins (Goblin General) will soon intervene. And it was a very bad situation if they attacked simultaneously at once.
"All right, we're gonna back off! Tell Fera too" (Syarif)
"Rober! Captain!"
I decided that we were unlikely to continue this battle any longer, due to our Mana and Stamina conditions staying a little and diminishing along with this battle.
Although I leveled up a few times, but the addition of Stamina and Mana was only a little bit of an increase in that level.
Not to mention it was getting harder to raise the next Level.
"Retreat! Hurry along!" (Sharif)
I shouted to my subordinates after seeing that.
When the two people in the back row managed to get out of this room, the 4 Type 6 Goblins (Goblin General) would soon reach our group.
One of the frontmost Goblins raised his greatsword that was almost 2 Meters long, he raised the sword above his head with one hand.
"I'll hold this!" (Sharif)
I informed my subordinates and strengthened my grip on the Katana I was using which was about 1 meter long. I also activated the [Stongest] Skill despite my Mana staying a bit.
When the Goblin reached before me, she lowered the sword she was lifting with all her might to perform the vertical slash shown to me.
Looking at his large sword, it was certain that its weight would also be very heavy. Not to mention the enormous power within that slash. I thought that it was impossible to fend off those slashes with my thin Katana. Most likely Katana would have split up together with myself if I accepted it directly.
When the slash came, I prepared my Katana overhead then tilted it as our swords touched to divert its trajectory.
As a result, the slash did not break my Katana, and I managed to harness the power of the opponent.
Then I slashed it towards his neck...
A slash!
But he held it with his other hand, and my slash could not even cut off his hand because my Mana was completely depleted and there were no more effects from the [Stongest] Skill.
Before I could pull back my sword that was stuck in his hand, I was thrown backwards by his powerful kick.
Thanks to the kick I came out of the room with one person who was carried away because it was right behind me.
While regurgitating my stomach fluid, I tried to see the situation in front of me.
Fera and Deni made it out. But the rest faced off with the 4 Type 6 Goblins (Goblin General). One person was split in two by one of the Goblins using a large Axe, one person was thrown far to the side of the room by the Goblin wielding a large Beater.
One by one my subordinates were killed which made me feel depressed.
I immediately got up to return to the battle, but Fera and Deni held me back.
"Let me! I have to help them" (Sharif)
I screamed at both.
"No Captain. It's too late" (Fera).
"Fera's right Captain. We need to get out of here" (Deni)
"What are you talking about! They're still fighting, and we have to help them immediately" (Sharif)
"Be aware and calm yourself Captain, the Goblins are heading towards us. And also.... There are no survivors of those who are inside you also realize that" (Fera)
What Fera said was right.
The fact. I did see my 6 subordinates being easily killed by the 4th Type 6 Goblin (Goblin General).
But I don't want to accept it, and maybe because of this guilty feeling I want to go back to battle and die for redemption or maybe to escape this dark feeling.
"Strong yourself, Captain! Remember that you still have to lead us and also remember that you still have family waiting for you" (Fera)
I was silent after hearing what Fera said.
'Aah...! Thas right. I still have family and responsibilities to do'
I regained my composure, though the guilt still haunted me.
To be continued..

Hiya, hiya,
No Face here.
This time I just want to tell you that Sharif is already in middle age, the exact age might appear in the next chapter. That's why he's not too familiar with RPG games or anything like that. But he was trying to adapt to this Changing World.
Well, that might be unimportant or interesting information regarding a middle-aged man who was a Police officer.
But there may be some who are interested in middle-aged men, although perhaps most of the readers of this novel are men.
That's all for this chapter.
Thank you for reading this chapter too. Like and comment, also add to your favorites or maybe you can give your Weekly Vote, even you can share if you have free time.
My greetings.
