While the Tarwiyah fast is carried out on Tarwiyah day, which is on the 8th of Dhulhijjah. This is based on a hadith redaction which means that fasting on Tarwiyah takes away the sins of one year, and fasting on the day of Arafah removes (sins) two years.

It is said that this hadith is dhaif (less strong history) but the scholars allow to practice the hadith that dhaif in the framework of fadla'ilul a’mal (to obtain the priority), and, and the hadith in question is not related to the issue of aqidah and law.

Fasting Arafah and Tarwiyah is highly recommended to also feel the pleasure that is being felt by the pilgrims who are conducting worship in the Holy Land.

For the record, if there is a difference in the initial determination of the month of Dzulhijjah between the government of Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, then the Indonesian Muslims carry out fasting Arafah and Tarwiyah in accordance with the local government's provisions. It is based on differences in geographical position.
