Ch. 49 - Great Rain

(Ota POV)

The rain outside was really heavy as I picked up some potatoes at a convenience store called Raspberry Market. In addition to potatoes, I also put other ingredients such as olive oil, chili powder, and tartar sauce into the bag of the basket I was tenting.

After my grocery list was crossed out, I went to the cashier to pay immediately.

After making sure our bodies were covered by umbrellas, Lullin and I walked straight to the rain.

The warmth of Lullin's body made the cold rain water slightly covered. Her short hair hit my neck from the wind. It feels itchy.

On the way, we met Kensel and Maggiana who were also sharing umbrellas.

We stopped for a moment to say hello.

"No. They're not home anymore."

"Well, who else are they?"

"I don't know."

Instantly the atmosphere added silence. Lullin drew her body closer to me, half hugging.

The room that is only illuminated by this candle feels increasingly tense.

The candle suddenly died.

There was the scream of another girl.

"Lullin, don't scream!"

"Not me!"

This time Lullin really hugged me. Hugged me tightly. Lullin's body trembled. He's very scared.

An hour after Sadako's appearance, the rain began to subside, and the lights were on. Lullin was asleep in my arms.
