UNEXPECTED MEETING: Naura's Luck

Enjoying the Present Time

Novi knocked on the door of her second daughter's room. As there was no answer from inside, Novi went straight into the room. But Naura is not there, but Novi hears a voice from inside the bathroom. Then Novi sat down at his daughter's study table, and read the magazine lying on the table.

"Mama.., suddenly mom was in Naura's room. What's the matter ma, why don't you just call Naura." Naura came out of the bathroom with her head wrapped in a towel.

"Nights kok shampoo dear, later the head becomes dizzy you know. Mama's going to my mom's daughter's room." Novi smiled then picked up a towel on his daughter's head.

His hands were trying to dry his daughter's hair. While Naura's heart was already feeling stiff from earlier, because the tumben of her mother went into her room.

"Naura, she had quite her hair. Want in a hair dryer not let it dry really."

"No need ma, yummy gini. It's cold" said Naura smiling, and then sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Have you had Naura's dinner?"

"Had ma, had eaten with friends on campus. Because there is a consumption ration for the ma committee, from the campus."

"Yes, I thought you hadn't eaten. Well thank goodness it turns out that mama's daughter has eaten."

Both are silent, and Novi is confused to start a conversation about the wedding to be done this Sunday. After taking a breath, Novi finally conveyed the intention of his arrival into Naura's room.

"Naura.., actually there's something Mama wants to say to you, son. Mama's friend wants your wedding to be held soon this Sunday, son." said Novi slowly.

Naura was surprised to hear the words of her mother, but she herself told her mother if she wanted to marry her mother's friend. He just looked into his mother's eyes, and didn't say anything.

"I'm sorry mom and dad, son. We can't afford to support this family, but if you can live from the bottom, mama's gonna cancel this wedding, son." Novi hugged Naura.

"Yes ma, Naura is ready whenever she gets married." Naura replied steadily, not even a single tear from her eyes.

From the moment he decided to take on the role, he had already steeled his heart to accept any decision. He thought, maybe this way is his way to serve his family. Seeing her mother who looks depressed because she asks him to get married, Naura hugs Novi's body tightly.

"Yes already, thank you Naura. You are a filial mother's daughter. Mama back to the room yes, want to accompany papa." said Novi with a smile.

Novi smiled as he nodded his head, then walked out of Naura's room. After making sure Mama came out, Naura closed the door of her room and locked it from the inside.

Instantly Naura sat on the floor, and tears seemed to pour down her cheeks. He thought he had to give up his ideals, and ended up marrying someone of his father's age and his mother. College activities should he leave, and end up at home only. But remembering the faces of her parents and sister Jessica, Naura smiled bitterly.

Novi informed Firmansyah that his family had agreed the marriage would take place this Sunday. Then she also sent her husband's company partner account number which had to be paid immediately.

Firmansyah then contacted her assistant to arrange a wedding at KUA on Friday, and asked her to send a check to the Samsuar company.

After arriving at the parking lot, they immediately got into the car.

"The Chairman sits in front, accompanied by Fikri" said Iin.

"It's straight, later to the Srondol area only. There's a coffee shop."

Fikri pointed the car towards the direction Akbar pointed out. He occasionally glanced at Naura who, despite smiling earlier, felt empty.
